Lucy nodded frantically, tears streaming down her face like a broken dam. “Okay, I promise! Just stay alive, Camila–I’ll do anything!”
She clutched Camila’s hand tightly, her voice trembling with desperation. “Camila, hold on! The doctors will save you!”
Every breath Camila took felt like sharp blades scraping against her lungs, each gasp a torment she could barely endure. A metallic taste rose in her throat, but she forced herself to suppress it, unwilling feet everyone worry. “Lucy, don’t cry,” she whispered.
Lucy’s vision blurred with tears. She wiped her eyes frantically, desperate to see Camila’s face. But the tears wouldn’t stop- they just kept coming.
Trembling, Camila raised her frail hand to wipe Lucy’s tears. “Don’t be sad,” she murmured weakly.
The more Camila tried to comfort them, the deeper the pain etched into everyone’s hearts.
Lucy collapsed by the bed, her whole body shaking with sobs. Her breathing came in ragged, desperate gasps, as if she might faint from the overwhelming grief at any moment.
The others around her had reddened eyes, tears silently streaming down their faces.
Camila had no clue how to comfort anyone. She’d picked the pesticide knowing it would likely kill her, hoping for a fast way
out.
With a resolute determination to die, she had downed the entire bottle. But fate had played a cruel joke on her–she had been rescued.
Seeing everyone’s grief was the last thing she wanted before dying. Guilt and sorrow weighed on her heart, suffocating her more than the poison ever could.
Camila tried to speak, but the moment she opened her mouth, a torrent of dark blood burst forth uncontrollably. It poured from her mouth and nose, staining the white sheets in a horrifying splash of red.
As if that wasn’t enough, blood seeped from her eyes and ears. Camila, now bleeding from every orifice, looked utterly tragic–like a ghost dragged from the depths of despair.
“Camila!” Lucy let out a heart–wrenching scream.
Tears streamed down her face even more. Overwhelmed by grief, despair, and fear, her body couldn’t hold on any longer. She closed her eyes and passed out.

vision blurred. She caught glimpses of Lucy fainting in grief, Giovani’s pale, despairing face, and the others frozen in fear. Then, everything went dark.
The hospital room was in complete chaos as the medical staff responded to the urgent cries and rushed in. They quickly wheeled Camila into the operating room.

Time crawled by. The light above the operating room remained on, casting a heavy shadow over the hallway.
Giovani sat in his wheelchair, his body numb and lifeless. His tears had long dried, and he stared ahead unblinking, as still
as a statue.
No one knew how much time had passed before the light above the operating room finally went out. A doctor emerged, his face lined with exhaustion and helplessness.
Giovani’s heart sank, a wave of dread crashing over him.
“Doctor, how is Camila?” he asked, his voice trembling. He stared at the doctor, desperate for any good news.
But the doctor finally delivered the words Giovani feared most. “We did everything we could. I’m sorry.”
The doctor’s words hit Giovani like a punch to the gut. “No! Camila’s not dead!” he shouted. “Go back in there and save her.” He shook his head desperately, refusing to accept the harsh truth.
Turner, Michael, Daniel, and Sean stood frozen in place, their faces pale with shock. ‘Camila is gone? How could this happen? Why her? It’s just unfair.‘
Camila was the kindest soul, always hardworking, always giving. She never hurt anyone, but life kept throwing pain her way, over and over.
Abandoned by her father at birth, she grew up in an orphanage until she was fifteen. When she finally returned to her family, she was mistreated, falsely accused, and imprisoned for five long years.

Giovani, consumed by madness, grabbed the doctor by the collar and rasped, “Camila can’t be gone. She promised she’d marry me! I haven’t even had the chance to make her my wife. You have to save her–please!
Sean closed his eyes in anguish, his voice heavy with sorrow. “Mr. Campbell, Ms. Jackson is gone.”
The words hit Giovani like a dagger to the heart. With a violent cough, blood spilled from his lips, staining his shirt.
Lucy, who had just woken up, ran over and happened to hear Sean’s words. She froze in place, her eyes glued to the surgery room door. After a long while, she started walking again, one heavy step at a time.
Turner reached out a hand toward her. “Lucy”
But Lucy heard nothing. She brushed past Turner and walked straight into the surgery room.
Camila lay motionless on the operating table. Harsh white lights glared down, making everything look dead and cold. Her hospital gown was drenched in blood. Her face was so pale it was almost see–through, with dark blood still staining her lips.
Lucy stood frozen, staring at Camila’s lifeless form. Her once–vibrant eyes were now sunken and hollow, filled with a despair so deep it seemed to consume her entirely. Yet, no more tears would fall; she had cried herself dry.
With trembling fingers, she reached out, gently caressing Camila’s face. There was such tenderness in her movements, as if she feared even the slightest pressure might disturb her friend’s eternal rest.
“Camila, you’ve really left me behind,” Lucy rasped, her voice cracking with pain. “It hurts so much. I want to leave this world with you. But I can’t. Not yet.
“I’m sorry. I know I promised, but I can’t do this anymore. I won’t let those bastards get away with what they did. They deserve to burn.”
The memories of Camila’s suffering flooded Lucy’s mind–betrayal, lies, and relentless pain. She would never let those murders get away with it.
“Ivanna and Claude must die. I’ll make sure of it. Once I’ve dealt with them, I’ll come join you. Would that be okay, Camila?
“If there’s a next life, I’ll find you sooner. I’ll protect you and never let anyone hurt you again,” she murmured, her voice growing softer with each word, until it was barely more than a whisper.
‘You gave me everything, but in the end, I’ll fail you, Camila. Don’t hate me for it.‘ Lucy gazed at Camila gently, but her lips curled into a cold, bloodthirsty smile.
