Chapter 55
Elara’s Perspective:
The next morning, I woke up early.
Amelia wasn’t up yet, and I didn’t want to disturb her, so I went to the restaurant for breakfast first. Last night on the yacht I’d only eaten a small cake, so hungry I almost got lost looking for food in the guest rooms at 3 AM.
After eating my fill, with time still before our appointment, I decided to stroll around the hotel garden.
This hotel had a very Southeast Asian style–carved window frames, interlaced brick and wood. Even just a corner looked like a painting. The garden was even more lush with greenery, palm trees towering into the clouds, their leaves rustling in the wind. Standing under the trees with my eyes closed, sunlight filtering through the gaps onto my face, I had the illusion of being kissed by nature.
The morning breeze was gentle, every breath filled with the woody fragrance of plants.
Nature was always so vibrant, passionate, and fresh–even without men or love, life wouldn’t be gray and boring.
Just as I was immersed in this pure relaxation, footsteps approached from far to near, accompanied by slight breathing and sweat-
The next second, the sunlight was blocked, and a tall figure stood before me.
I opened my eyes to see a broad chest wrapped in black sportswear, clear chest muscle contours, sweat beads sliding down an exquisite collarbone. slightly parted lips, bobbing Adam’s apple…
“What are you looking at?”
A familiar deep voice sounded by my ear, mixed with post–exercise body heat and Southeast Asia’s humid wind, almost enveloping me.
I snapped back to reality, quickly touching the corner of my eye and stepping back, “The sunlight was too dazzling, I felt a bit dizzy.”
Garrett Wylder: “Keep looking and you’ll not only be dizzy, you’ll go blind.”
Me: “…”
This man couldn’t even tease without any warmth.
I awkwardly rubbed my eyes. Last night’s incident still made me somewhat embarrassed, so I made small talk: “Alpha… you’re out for a morning run?”
He nodded, wiped sweat with a towel, leaned against the tree for a moment, then suddenly said: “The person secretly watching on the yacht’s third floor last night was you, wasn’t it.”
I was caught off guard, shocked into looking up.
Wait… secretly watching?
Who was secretly watching!
“I wasn’t secretly watching! I just went up for fresh air, and as soon as I got up there I saw you two… that… that thing, I left immediately, really, just one glance, really one glance, I didn’t look more!
Garrett Wylder raised an eyebrow: “That thing?”
“You know, that!”
“Speak clearly.”
I gritted my teeth and went all out: “Kissing, very passionate kissing, satisfied now!”

“You saw wrong.”
He said coldly, definitively.
…You say you weren’t kissing and I should believe you? I’m not blind–but I can pretend to believe it.
“Okay, I saw wrong,” I went along with his face–saving explanation.
But Garrett Wylder was clearly unsatisfied with my attitude, frowning and looking at me for several more seconds, “You don’t believe me?”
I nodded repeatedly: “I believe you, I believe you!”
He suddenly dropped a line: “I don’t like kissing, especially with women.”
Wait… wait a minute!
Could his sexual orientation be men?
