Garrett Wylder spoke casually.
Leo’s heart skipped a beat.
He looked hastily toward Amelia.
“Alpha, may I say a few words? Of course we need to find Secretary Elara, but you suspect the factory people without distinguishing right from wrong -this isn’t fair.”
“How do you know I don’t have evidence?”
Garrett Wylder smiled coldly.
Leo sat down again, his voice carrying a sense of grievance: “Any excuse will serve to condemn. If the Alpha wants to dismiss me, you can say so directly – no need for such trumped–up charges!”
“What I’m asking you now is Secretary Elara’s whereabouts!”
The sound of slamming the table suddenly rang out.
Garrett Wylder’s expression changed very quickly – one moment inscrutable and deep, the next sharp as an unsheathed blade.
Leo’s pupils dilated.
But he quickly regained composure, maintaining an attitude of genuine goods fearing no fire, answering firmly: “I don’t know Secretary Elara’s whereabouts! If you insist it’s related to me, then Alpha, please present your evidence!”
His words were decisive and exceptionally firm.
Garrett Wylder contained his anger, his expression becoming extremely cold.
He had deliberately questioned aggressively to see subconscious reactions. Unlike Weber, Leo showed no panic at all. Especially when asked if he was so confident she couldn’t be found, he even showed some smugness and relaxation.
…Could it be… that she really couldn’t be found…
“I have a bad habit – I’m protective. Anyone who dares touch my people, whether I have evidence or not, I’ll make sure they die without a burial place. You’re obviously eager to experience that.”
Leo met Garrett Wylder’s gaze that looked at him like a corpse, involuntarily swallowing.
Then he comforted himself: What was there to fear? Weber was the one who confined her, and jumping out the window to seek death was her own choice – what did it have to do with him!
“Alpha, I know you’re very worried about Secretary Elara’s disappearance. We’re worried too. If you need to vent, we dare not complain.”
“I only ask that the Alpha not take it out on others they’ve done nothing wrong.”
“Everyone works diligently for the company. Treating us veteran employees like this for the sake of a beautiful woman will break everyone’s hearts.”
As he spoke, he couldn’t help but shed tears.
Those in the conference room who didn’t know the situation were also moved by his words, developing dissatisfaction toward Garrett Wylder in their
hearts.
Leo deliberately wanted to stir up everyone’s emotions, especially Amelia’s.
Sure enough, Amelia’s expression visibly became resentful.

Chapter 65
Garrett Wylder emanated a murderous chill.
At this moment, Clay went out to take a call and returned with joy on his face, quickly walking to Garrett Wylder’s side and whispering: “Weber confessed. She’s being held at his old family house.”
“Rowan will go there. You take people and search within a five kilometer radius centered on the house.”
“But that house is by the sea.”
Garrett Wylder’s heart tightened.
That cold feeling grew stronger, almost seeping into his bo
Drowning someone in the sea would indeed make them
hard to find.
Seeing him show no joy but instead become heavier, Clay had a
terrible guess.
He had no time to think more or ask questions, quickly leaving the conference room to follow Garrett Wylder’s instructions and lead people to search within five kilometers of the house.
Everyone in the room watched them speak in low voices, then saw Clay leave so hurriedly, looking at each other in confusion.
Had they found her?
The several people involved in the kidnapping broke out in cold sweat again.
Leo sneered inwardly – Weber, that useless waste, must have been caught and confessed.
He pretended to ask: “Is there news about Secretary Elara?”
Garrett Wylder’s sharp eyes caught that trace of mockery almost hidden at the corner of his mouth. If he could, he would have liked to learn from
first. Rowan’s temperament – regardless of everything else, crack this scumbag’s skull open
“Indeed…”
“Is Secretary Elara that important!”
Amelia finally exploded.
She forcefully threw her bag onto the table. From entering until now, she had heard and seen enough of him caring and worrying about another
woman.
He had never been so anxious for anyone before.
Garrett Wylder looked up at her.
His expression was stern, naturally commanding: “Do you know why she came to the factory, and why she disappeared?”
“Ridiculous. I’m the general manager of the subsidiary. What virtue or ability does a secretary who’s been in office less than three days have to require my attention!”
Amelia felt hurt, speaking like a porcupine: “It’s you who, as a dignified Alpha, makes such a big fuss over a secretary. Those who don’t know might think your wife has gone missing!”
“Amelia, if you would spend even a little of the attention you waste on me on proper business, your brain wouldn’t be so stupid.”
