Hazel’s POV:
“You should have let me give them a proper scolding.” Karina snorted, her face full of indignation. “If it weren’t for wanting to publicly embarrass them. I wouldn’t have sent Silver Moon Pack an invitation at all.”
I could hear that she was truly furious.
Karina knew what had happened to me in the past and was clear about what those Silver Moon Pack people had done to me. So today’s banquet, for her, was never meant to be a peaceful reception. She actually meant to humiliate them.
She just probably didn’t expect that group to not only walk into her trap, but to be even more shameless and excessive than she had imagined.
1 curved my lips in a careless smile: “Your scolding wouldn’t have been as fierce as mine.”
Karina wasn’t pretentious at all and generously admitted: “That’s true.”
My heart warmed instantly.
In this complex and sharp banquet, having someone wholeheartedly on my side gave me a long–missed sense of security.
She lowered her voice again, her tone turning cold: “I just feel they haven’t received their real punishment yet…”
I glanced at her and smiled faintly: “No rush. They will pay the price. Just wait for it.”
Yes, what Silver Moon Pack owed “me“-whether it was my personal dignity or the injustices suffered by this “Hazel”
identity–I would collect everything, piece by piece.
But not now, not something that could be resolved with a scolding.
What I wanted was complete victory, making them lose utterly in reputation, interests, and even emotions.
Caroline’s face appeared in my mind–that delicately made–up face gradually cracking.
The reason she could be pampered by Silver Moon Pack was because she appeared “perfect” enough–sensible, well–behaved,
kind.
But what if she wasn’t as perfect as they thought?
What if her behavior repeatedly implicated Silver Moon Pack’s interests, making them lose face publicly and attract criticism–would they continue protecting her?
I was quite curious to see whether that “little princess” they once held in their palms could still stand firm once she lost her
halo.
Lost in thought, I had followed Karina to the back of the banquet.

“Mom, Hazel is here.” Karina smiled as she introduced me.
As soon as Lady Eleanor saw me, her face bloomed with a smile, warm as afternoon spring sunshine.
“Hazel.” She beckoned to me, her tone full of affection. “Come here and let me look at you.”
She looked much more spirited today than when I last saw her. When I saved her, she was still so weak she needed support, but now she was glowing with health and excellent color.
However, back then I was just a doctor, a lifesaver to her. But now, I was her… granddaughter.
I smiled slightly and walked over: “Don’t move, let me give you a follow–up examination.”
She obediently sat still, not fussing at all.
I heard several Blood Moon Pack members around us suppressing laughter.
Because they all knew that Lady Eleanor was famous for being “mischievous” at home. After recovering from her illness, she refused to rest quietly, wanting to go out to the park every day. But now she was sitting obediently at just one word from me–who wouldn’t want to laugh seeing this?

Xander was silent for a moment, then nodded, apparently quite satisfied with my answer.
Karina also smiled from the side, helping me out: “Uncle Wentworth, Hazel has her own rules. We don’t interfere either.”
I also nodded and smiled.
