If it weren’t for my dad’s sake, I wouldn’t even bother making this call.

Taking my assigned seat wasn’t something money alone could fix.

If she’d shown the slightest willingness to apologize, maybe I could have let it slide.

“I’m busy. Get to the point.”

His tone over the phone dripped with impatience.

“Mr. Rockwell, perhaps you should ask your secretary what exactly she’s trying to pull here.”

Just as I moved to hand the phone over, the line went dead.

I stood there, stunned. Do all wealthy people act like this?

Seeing this, the woman who had stolen my seat – that secretary – beamed, a triumphant smirk spreading across her

face.

“Well, well!” she crowed. “Thought you were somebody important. Turns out my boss wouldn’t be bothered to even speak to you!”

Seeing I was barely over twenty and dressed plainly, she clearly didn’t see me as any kind of threat.

“Excuse me, but are you completely unreasonable?” I demanded, my voice tight.

“You’re the one who stole my seat. I haven’t even confronted you, and you’re mocking me?”

I gestured towards a flight attendant nearby.

“There are security officers on board. If you keep causing trouble, I will call them right now!”

My threat only made her bolder.

“Pathetic.” She sneered, stepping closer. “Save your breath. This airline? It’s Rockwell family property! Who exactly do you think will help you?”

Her anger escalated, and spittle flew into my face as she ranted.

I clenched my fists and instinctively took a step back.

“You keep blabbering about The Rockwell Dynasty this and that. Then let me ask you-what exactly is your relationship with them?”

The moment I finished speaking, she shoved me hard.

“This is ain’t any of your damn business! Get the hell out of my face!”

“If you don’t leave right now, I swear you won’t be getting off this flight!”

Working deep within the unit for years, my interactions with the outside world were minimal. Frankly, I had no clue how to deal with someone this vicious.

Her sheer arrogance made my own anger spike.

“You took my seat, fine, but now you’re even threatening me? Who do you think you are? President of America?”

As soon as the words left my mouth, gasps and whispers rippled through the nearby passengers.

“Holy hell, she actually said that to Ms. Williams? She’s practically asking for death!”

“It’s just a seat! Giving it up wouldn’t kill her. But pissing off that woman? She’ll be the one paying for it.”

“Sigh… What rotten luck running into Zoey Williams! She’s Mr. Rockwell’s favorite!”

As the murmurs swelled, the woman’s expression oozed smug satisfaction.

“Bitch,” she shrieked, her face contorted with fury.”How dare you?! You have no idea who you’re messing with!”

Her threats washed over me. If anything, the absurdity was almost amusing.

“Ms. Williams, is it? I suggest you watch your language.”

“Truly provoke me, and the consequences will be… significant. More than even your boss can handle.”

“Watch your language my ass!”

Clearly, cursing wasn’t enough. She rolled up her sleeves and lunged at me once more.

“Ah,” I observed, deftly sidestepping her clumsy swipes.”So violence is your go-to strategy?”

She flailed, her blows failing to connect, turning her frustration into impotent rage.

“You dare dodge me again, you little bitch?!” she screeched. “One call to Mr. Rockwell, and you’re finished!”

I didn’t raise a hand. I endured.

It wasn’t fear. Before leaving the unit, my boss had drilled it into me:”Remember, you represent this unit. Under

no circumstances cause a scene.”

Besides, I don’t fight. If I strike, it counts.

Seeing me hold my ground silently, she mistook my discipline for weakness. Eyes blazing, she raised her hand for another strike.

At the critical moment, a thunderous roar sliced through the tension.

“Stop!”
