Chapter 15 Hurry Up and Get Divorced
Lily glared at Sean, her expression a mix of anger and frustration, unable to hold back.[]
“Since you don’t know anything, why are you so quick to assume she has bad intentions? Why automatically label her as the villain?“[]
Sean was stunned, frowning as he stared at Lily.[]
“Fine,” Lily laughed helplessly, shaking her head. She took a deep breath before continuing, “Young Master Shaw, I’m an outsider, so I can’t speak much about what happened between you two. But since you’ve asked me, I’ll speak from an outsider’s perspective on what I think about your situation.”
Sean remained silent, watching her, waiting for her to continue.[]
“She likes you. That’s not her fault.“[]
“I don’t know why you think she’s a bad woman with ill intentions. What I do know is that she hasn’t hurt you. She only showed up there because she cares about you. You slept with her. Isn’t it normal to take responsibility? Why the victim mentality?“]
“Let’s say you don’t want to admit it–then why did you go along with the marriage? Why get married and then walk away?“[]
“What did she do wrong? She was just worried about you. She happened to show up there because she liked you, let herself be taken to bed by you, and didn’t have the heart to refuse. She thought it was fate, that after the struggles, you two could marry and be together. But you left, leaving her to face all the malice and judgment alone. Even…“]
Lily’s voice grew more emotional as she spoke, almost choking on her words. She looked down at the floor, took a deep breath, then continued, her tone still intense but now more controlled.]
“Even after she found out she was pregnant and knew you didn’t want her, she still insisted on keeping the baby.“[
“Sean, you don’t have to love her, that’s your freedom, but you can’t keep acting like the victim, thinking you’re innocent.”
“She truly loved you. After she got pregnant, she found out it was an ectopic pregnancy, but she couldn’t bring herself to terminate it. She thought this was the only connection left between you two. She was foolish enough to pray, hoping it was a misdiagnosis, hoping to have the baby.”
“During that time, she was out of her mind, breaking down, unwilling to face reality or get the surgery. She shut everyone out and locked herself at home. She hemorrhaged and fainted alone at home. If I hadn’t found her in time, she would have died…“[]
Sean stared at Lily in a daze, unable to process what she was saying.[]
Her few words had revealed all the struggles and suffering Eva had gone through.
“Sean, I’m glad she’s finally come to terms with it. She can let go of you now. I fully support the divorce.”[]
“But Sean, you need to have a conscience. Not loving her is your choice, but she doesn’t owe you anything. Now that she’s in trouble, if you can help her, help her. If you can’t, at least don’t make things worse.“[]
Lily finished her words, taking a deep breath with her hands on her hips.[]
There was a sudden silence between the two.]
“Anyway, I’m really thankful that you came to sign the papers for her,” Lily said after a moment of calm, her voice lowering.[]

“She didn’t want to trouble you, but now that her grandfather is gone, you’re the only one who can sign for her.“]
“Sean, hurry up and get the divorce over with,” Lily looked at him and spoke firmly.

“It’s not my fault. You were the one who looked at her with suspicion, so now I can’t help but look at you the same way. This is just minor surgery for her. If you really can’t come, you can let her sign it herself. But if something happens to her in the future, like her grandfather, something life–threatening, I don’t want to leave her fate in your hands.“[]
