Chapter 27 Wedding Ring
After settling Sean in, Eva returned to her room. She had already showered earlier, but as she raised her hand and smelled herself, she frowned; she could still smell the faint scent of alcohol on her.[]
She had planned to shower again, but as she walked towards the bathroom, she suddenly changed her mind. It wasn’t just the alcohol
that lingered on her skin; there was also the faint scent of Sean’s cologne.
Sean wore a very subtle fragrance, so faint that it was often overlooked unless one paid close attention. If they hadn’t been so intimately close three years ago, Eva might not have even noticed it.[]
With the lingering scent of him on her, she lay back down on the bed. She drifted off to sleep surrounded by his almost imperceptible
scent.
The next morning, when Eva woke up, there was already movement in the living room. It seemed that despite drinking the night before, Sean’s biological clock was still precise.[]
“Good morning,” Eva greeted him as she stepped out of her room, maintaining an air of casualness.[]
Sean, sitting at the dining table, glanced at her but didn’t respond.[]
Eva walked over to the table, pulled out a chair, and sat down across from him with a bright smile. “Seems like having you stay here isn’t such a bad thing after all. Free breakfast every day.“[]
After a pause, she added, “Honestly, you’re actually quite good at cooking.”
Sean still didn’t respond, only looking at her before lowering his head to continue eating.
Seeing that he wasn’t inclined to talk, Eva decided not to continue the conversation either and lowered her head to eat as well.[]
Once Sean finished his breakfast, he lifted his gaze to look at Eva.[]
“Eva.“]]
“Mm,” Eva looked up at him and smiled, nodding in acknowledgment.]
“Last night, I was having dinner with business partners.“]
“Mm,” Eva nodded again, smiling in response. “You mentioned that last night.“[]
“We had dinner, then they dragged me to a bar,” Sean continued, pinching the space between his eyebrows. He paused for a moment before adding, “My father always says that many business deals are made at the dinner table.“]
“Ah, yes,” Eva replied, slightly surprised that Sean was bringing this up so early, but she still agreed, “Your father is right.“|[]
“So, is it normal for two pretty young girls to be seated next to me and pour drinks?” Sean’s gaze deepened as he looked at her.[]
Eva coughed lightly, unsure of how to respond. She didn’t quite understand the purpose of Sean bringing this up.
After a few moments of silence, Eva hesitated before replying, “Or maybe many people want to get on your good side? After all, at your level, you’re like a ‘diamond bachelor‘, a top catch.“]
Once she said this, Eva immediately felt awkward.[]

Sean lowered his head slightly, pursing his lips, looking as if he was deep in thought. After some time, he looked up at Eva again.[]
“Where is the wedding ring?“]]
“Ah?” Eva blinked in confusion, not quite catching his drift.]
“Did you sell it?” Sean frowned. Eva had been so broke that she even sold her car.

“Which box?” Sean looked at her.
