Just then, the butler, Winston Goff, returned from an errand.

Ryan walked up quickly and asked, “Where’s Daisy?”
Winston hesitated, clearly torn. But seeing Ryan’s expression grow colder by the second, he stammered, “L–Luna Daisy left
last week with a bag.”
Ryan’s brows drew tight, and his tone turned even colder when he asked, “And you didn’t think to tell me?”
Winston froze before replying softly, “You had your phone off, sir. We couldn’t reach you.”
Only then did Ryan remember that when he and Clare had gone on their trip, she had pouted sweetly and said, “No one else is allowed to interrupt our time together.”
So, he had handed off all duties to the Beta and shut his phone down. He hadn’t expected to miss the most important news of
all.
Furious and with nowhere to vent, he could only roar in anger, “Daisy Boyle! You think you’re so brave? Fine! Don’t ever come
back! I want to see just how far you’ll get without me!”
After a quick wash and a change of clothes, Ryan headed for the study, ready to tackle the stack of overdue files.
But the moment he walked in, he noticed two neatly placed documents on the desk. He picked up the top one without
thinking. When he read the title, he froze.
He had no memory of the private agreement at all. But as he unfolded it and read through the old terms from nine years ago,
each word stirred faint, long–buried memories.
“How is this possible? Why don’t I remember any of this?” he muttered.
Beneath it was an official mate dissolution agreement stamped with my signature and marked with my handprint.
Ryan stood in silence for a moment. Then, he tore the agreement into shreds.
Grinding his teeth, he roared, “Daisy, you think this piece of paper means it’s over? I never said it was over! You had no right to walk away!”
His gaze dropped to the termination date on the mate agreement. As he pieced it together with my quiet withdrawal in those
final days, a shadow crept into his gaze.
“No way. All the kindness you showed me these nine years was just because of this damn agreement?”
Fury burned in Ryan’s eyes, dark and venomous. His voice came out low and tight, “Daisy, don’t even think about escaping without my permission.”
Then, he barked at the Beta. “Find Luna Daisy. Now!”
