Only when the last drop of blood was drained and there was nothing left to torture did Claude allow the doctors to treat Caroline.
Since they’d acted in time, Caroline didn’t have any major issues, but the moment she opened her eyes and saw Claude, she screamed like she was seeing the devil.
“Claude! Let me go, let me go! I know I was wrong, I’ll apologize to Aaliyah, it’s all my fault!”
Claude nodded slightly, a satisfied expression-this was exactly the script he’d planned from the beginning. Only when Caroline admitted her mistakes and stopped bullying Aaliyah would he be able to win his wife back.
But there was still one more thing.
Claude looked at her.
“Since you know you were wrong, you can stay in the isolation room until Aaliyah comes back.”
Hearing those words, Caroline froze for a moment, then started struggling frantically, crying and screaming.
“No! Don’t put me in the isolation room, Claude, Claude!”
But her struggles didn’t earn her any mercy. Claude found her noise annoying and had her thrown into the isolation room, the heavy door slamming shut, cutting off her last hope.
Inside the isolation room, there wasn’t a single ray of light. You had to eat, drink, and relieve yourself in this tiny cage-anyone would go insane after just one
day.
Claude didn’t spare Caroline another thought. He loosened his tie, still feeling irritated.
‘Still haven’t found her?”
His assistant stepped forward. “Not yet, sorry, Mr. Preston.”
‘Bang!”-Claude suddenly smashed the vase next to him.
He ignored the blood flowing from his fingers and spoke coldly.
Then keep looking. Don’t come back until you find her.”
3lood dripped from his palm to the floor. The assistant bowed his head even lower and hurried out, and even the household staff didn’t dare speak loudly.
They all knew that since Aaliyah left, Claude’s temper had gotten worse by the day, and they were terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.
laude took a deep breath, ignoring the staff’s frightened expressions, and drove alone to a bar.
He got a private room and ordered a case of liquor, downing it bottle by bottle. Only this way could he ease the pain in his heart.
His buddies heard he was at the bar and came over to sit with him.
Dude, it’s just Aaliyah taking off, right? She was always so drama, constantly begging you to take her back. Sure, she actually went through with the divorce his time, but give it a week and she’ll be back on her knees.”
Yeah, everyone knows Aaliyah can’t live without you.”
They joked around, but only Claude knew that he was the one who couldn’t live without Aaliyah.
Ever since she started chasing him, he’d fallen head over heels for her.
Claude let out a bitter laugh and chugged another gulp.
Seeing that their comfort wasn’t working, the others exchanged glances and finally asked in confusion.
“Claude, you filed for divorce so many times with Aaliyah. Now that you’re actually divorced, shouldn’t you be happy?”
He gripped the bottle tighter, not knowing how to describe the dark, twisted pleasure in his heart.

“Plus I think Caroline’s pretty hot too-obedient and knows how to handle herself. If Claude’s really done with Aaliyah, he could have some fun with Caroline.”
At the mention of Caroline, Claude, who hadn’t shown much emotion before, suddenly gripped his bottle tightly.
“Don’t fucking mention Caroline again!”
He spoke hoarsely, startling everyone.
