Chapter 11,

Chapter 11

A baby?

Julian froze mid-movement, stunned.

He frowned slightly, as if struggling to comprehend, a dull ache spreading through his chest.

Seeing him calm down, Emma assumed it was because of the baby.

She deliberately took Julian’s hand and placed it on her stomach, whispering softly, “Feel it. The baby’s still tiny, but when it grows up, it’ll call you daddy.”

Julian looked down, his gaze fixed intently on her clothes.

During the days I’d been away, Emma had been freely entering and exiting my walk-in closet, casually selecting my clothes as if they were her own.

It wasn’t the first time, after all.

she’d even worn my wedding dress-what else would she hesitate to take?

But now, Julian seemed to be having a breakdown.

He began violently tearing at Emma’s clothes: “Don’t wear them! Diana’s! Take them off… give them back to me!”

Emma couldn’t match his strength.

Her slightly rounded belly was roughly pulled at, causing her to retreat in pain.

She accidentally kicked over the trash can.

Something rolled out, making a clear ringing sound.

Julian stopped abruptly, staring blankly at the women’s wedding ring rolling across the floor.

His pupils constricted, his lips trembling uncontrollably.

The wedding ring…

My wedding ring.

A powerful sense of suffocation surged from within. Julian’s face turned instantly pale.

At that moment, the housekeeper knocked urgently: “Mr. Julian, the seventh anniversary gift from your wife has arrived!”

Julian’s head snapped up.

His eyes suddenly brightened, his heartbeat growing faster and faster.

He stepped over the woman and quickly took the package, tearing it open-a glaring divorce certificate lay quietly in the center.

The smile on Julian’s face froze.

He instinctively protested, “Fake… it has to be fake…”

Julian’s fingers gripped the edges of the divorce certificate, the fragile paper beginning to wrinkle.

He stared at the certificate, motionless.

The housekeeper quickly said, “It must be a misunderstanding, Mr. Julian. I’ll call your wife right away!”

But the result was the same.

No one answered the phone.

Only the mechanical busy tone.

Einma knelt on the floor, clutching her stomach, her face twisted in pain.

She was about to speak when she caught sight of the divorce certificate and exclaimed excitedly. “Julian, you’re free!”

Emma was overjoyed: “This is wonderful! Haven’t you always found Diana’s low education disgusting? She only knows how to make money and has no common interests with you. Now you can abandon her forever! Julian, we can finally be together openly!”

But Julian showed no reaction.

He stared at the divorce certificate in extreme silence.

Convinced it had to be fake.

After all, I used to play these kinds of games to get his attention.

For seven years, I’d constantly orbited around him.

Julian tossed the certificate aside and pulled out his phone.

He dialed his emergency contact-Diana.

He knew that whenever he called, no matter what I was doing, I would answer immediately.

This pattern had continued for seven years.

But after a series of rings, I still didn’t pick up.

Julian fell silent and put down his phone.

The air was filled with a faint bergamot fragrance.

He looked down at the aromatherapy candle by the study door.

It had burned completely down, leaving only a small puddle of wax.

He never allowed me to enter the study freely, but I would always light candles for him at the doorway.

When one candle burned out, I would quickly light another.

Never missing a single time.
