Time flew by, and when I saw Mia again, we were both eighteen that Christmas.
She had come to my university as an exchange student.
We hadn’t seen each other for ten years. Her appearance hadn’t changed much compared to our previous life—she still looked lifeless, though her clothes were far more luxurious than before.
In our past life, it was Caleb who tormented Mia. In this life, it
was Sam.
Though different people tormented her, the results were the
same.
Fate truly was remarkable. Mia and I had experienced life and death together, been reborn together, and now we were at the same university, even assigned to the same dorm room.
When I entered the dorm, she was sitting blankly on the edge of
her bed.
Hearing the noise, she jumped up instantly like a startled rabbit.
Seeing it was me, she froze for a moment, seemingly relieved.
“Oh, it’s you.” Mia looked me up and down. “How have these past few years been for you? Has that weirdo been good to you?”

Just as I was about to speak, a soft chuckle came from behind.
- me.
Caleb walked over and stopped beside me, carrying my suitcase.
His indifferent gaze swept over Mia as he asked casually, “When did I become a weirdo?”
Seeing Caleb, Mia’s face turned even paler.
Just as I had psychological trauma from Sam, Mia had psychological trauma from Caleb.
She said awkwardly, “I was just talking nonsense. I’m sorry.”
Caleb didn’t look at her again or say anything. He simply surveyed the dorm room, then went over to help me make my
bed.
Then he began helping me organize my luggage, folding my clothes neatly and placing them in the closet.
Finally, he reminded me, “I’ve left the driver for you. If you want to come home after class, call me anytime. I’ll come pick you up, or have the driver take you to the company first.”
After speaking, Caleb looked around the dorm environment again. “You can stay here for a few days to experience it, but living in the off–campus house would be more convenient.”

I had finally gotten the chance to live like a normal person, and now I could live on campus like an ordinary college student. I didn’t want to move off–campus.
I said, “I want to live here.”
Caleb nodded. “Alright. Everything’s arranged. I’ll head out now.”
He walked up to me and, just like when I was little, gently ruffled my hair, then gave Mia a warning glance before leaving.
I walked him downstairs, and when I returned, I saw Mia’s incredulous expression.
She couldn’t wait to ask me, “Why is he so good to you?”
Mia’s emotional breakdown came faster than I’d expected.
I put on a matter–of–fact expression. “Isn’t it natural for him to be good to me? Isn’t Sam good to you?”
Mia completely broke down, collapsing onto the bed’s edge, holding her head as if trapped in unbearable pain.
She kept muttering, “It shouldn’t be like this, it shouldn’t be this
way…”
Suddenly, she stood up and tried to tear at my clothes.

I pushed her away. “What are you trying to do?”

Mia’s face was flushed red, shaking her head continuously, the flesh on her face trembling.
She reached for me again. “Take off your clothes, let me see. Hurry up! I need to see!”
Mia was truly traumatized—her condition was even worse than mine had been in our previous life.
Sam truly hadn’t disappointed me.
