Chapter 7
He pointed at me. “It’s her! She locked me in a water dungeon, wouldn’t let me sleep, and fed me rotten food!”
I smirked at him. “But even though it was rotten food, Mr. Whitmore, you ate it up every single day like it was gourmet, didn’t you?”
Human potential really is limitless. I had them brought one meal of rotten food each day.
At first, Garrett kept yelling about being the CEO of Whitmore Corp and how he’d rather starve to death than eat that garbage.
But after three days of hunger, survival trumped everything else. Both of them fought like starving animals over every grain of that rotten food, devouring it completely without leaving a single bit behind.
Garrett glared at me with a twisted expression. “You evil bitch, now that my dad’s here to save me, your time is up—”
Sometimes I really marvel at how fair God is-give you one thing, take away another. Clearly, God traded Garrett’s brains for his looks.
Before he could finish his threat, Sterling slapped him. “You little bastard, are you trying to kill me? Get on your knees and apologize to Miss Willa right now!”
Garrett looked at his father, defiant and hurt. “Dad, why should I apologize? She locked me up for so long, made me suffer worse than death every day, and instead of helping me get back at her, you’re taking her side?”
Seeing his son still didn’t get it, Sterling was at his wit’s end.
But since Mom had warned him earlier, he couldn’t expose my identity. He could only kick Garrett behind the knees in frustration, forcing him to kneel in front
of me.
Sterling’s voice was careful and pleading. “Miss Willa, I know this bastard made you angry. Even if he died ten thousand times, it wouldn’t make up for his rimes. But please, for the sake of him being my only son, spare his life.”
Seeing his father’s pathetic groveling, Garrett finally realized my identity wasn’t simple.
‘Dad, who the hell is she? We’re one of Chicago’s three major business families-is there really someone in this city we can’t mess with?”
sterling shot him a deadly look. “You little shit, I’ve always told you there’s always someone bigger out there, told you to keep a low profile, but you never Fucking listen.”
‘Let me tell you-Miss Willa is exactly the kind of person we can’t afford to mess with. Whether you live or die is up to one word from her.”
After hearing that, Garrett’s expression finally changed from vengeful to terrified, and he could barely speak.
Miss Willa, I was stupid and ignorant before when I offended you. I apologize and beg your forgiveness…”
sat in my chair, picked up my coffee, and took a slow sip before looking at them. “Uncle Sterling, you’re being a bit unfair to Garrett. He’s not the one who eally offended me-it was his ‘sister.’ Garrett was just trying to stick up for his precious ‘sister.””
sterling slapped Garrett on the head again. “You little beast, instead of learning good things, you pick up some random ‘sister’? Get her the hell out of here!”
3rielle immediately realized that Garrett could barely save himself, let alone protect her.
Remembering the torture of being locked in that water dungeon, she never wanted to experience it again.
All the strength drained from her body as she collapsed to the ground with a thud, kowtowing frantically.
‘Miss Chinning, I know I was wrong! I’m the real bitch and trash! Please don’t hold it against me, spare me this once!”
“Please, spare this worthless life! I really won’t dare again…”
