I woke up groggily the next morning. Hayden
was already up.
く
He was standing by the bed, scrolling through
my phone. He looked pissed.
Seeing that I was awake, he forced a smile.
“Tell me the truth. Are you hiding something?”
I yawned. “What could I hide?”
His face darkened. He smirked. “Not talking?
Fine. Then tell me…”
He shoved the phone in my face, practically
touching my nose. “Why is the abortion clinic
sending you pre-op instructions?”
His voice turned glacial. “Baby, when did you
get pregnant?”
I froze. My temples throbbed.
But I quickly regained my composure.
“Oh, drama queen. Probably just clicked on
some random ad while browsing shady sites.
If I were pregnant, I’d tell you. I’d have you
wrapped around my finger.”
Hayden raised an eyebrow. “Browsing shady
sites, huh?”
I nodded. “Always good to learn new things.
He grabbed my chin. “Aren’t the positions I
teach you enough? You keep learning, and I
might just lose it.”
He pulled me into his arms. “Tell me
everything you’ve learned.”
“I don’t know. Didn’t memorize it.”
He laughed. “Dumbass. Guess I have to teach
you myself.”
He looked at me. “Riley, we’re getting married
in four days. I’ll make you the happiest bride
in the world, okay?”
I didn’t answer.
We wouldn’t get married, and we had no
future.
