It rained heavily the next day.
I was not used to staying at the Jensen’s manor, so on my way back to my own neighborhood, while waiting at a traf- fic light, I saw two figures in the pouring rain.
One was running ahead, getting completely soaked. The other seemed indifferent, just holding an umbrella and not chasing after.
Just as I was watching curiously.
I recognized myself holding an umbrella.
Calvin.
The one who was running ahead…
Wasn’t it just that, Talia?
Then.
The girl fell in front of my car with a thud.
I was shocked: Fake an accident?!
The heavy rain poured down, and I hesitated for a few seconds before asking the driver to turn on the hazard lights.
I got off the car and took out an umbrella, holding it over the girl who had already been soaked like a drowned rat.
Her eyelashes trembled lightly, with tears all over her face.
I turned to Calvin and said, “Carry her to my car, I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Calvin stared at me for a few seconds.
He then bent down and picked up Talia.
It was stuffed into my car.
I said, “You sit in the passenger seat, I’ll sit with her in the back.”
Calvin said nothing, sitting silently in the passenger seat.
The girl was weak and powerless, her cheeks flushed, whimpering like a small animal.
I searched for a while, found a towel, and wiped her cheeks and body.

Chapter 10
She had a fever.
Perhaps feeling that I was colder, she leaned against me in a daze.
I pressed her down and whispered, “Don’t move.”
The car drove steadily in the heavy rain.
I had the first chance to take a good look at her.
Actually, I didn’t think she was like me at all. She was too fragile, as if she could shatter with just a light touch. It seemed like everyone could manipulate her in the palm of their hand, then toss her aside when they got bored and step on her.
But I couldn’t, I couldn’t let others see me as weak.
I could be gentle, reserved, slow–witted, impatient, cunning, and mean…
Only cannot be weak.
Otherwise, my father’s illegitimate children would come flooding in like a tide, vying for control of the Jensen Group with me.
Just like the matter of marriage.
In my father’s eyes, only when his daughter has an excellent husband can he confidently hand over the company to the two of them.
If I were single and unmarried, or if my husband was not reliable in his eyes.
Then the Jensen Group would be taken over by people he considered reliable in his eyes.
So I have been considering marriage, and the person I marry must be approved by my father.
Only when I got the ticket could I kick others out of the game.

After arriving at the hospital, I said to Calvin, “You carry her down, I’ll go register.”
Calvin gave me a casual glance and said, “No.”
What are you going crazy about again?
“I’ll carry her down, you go register,” I said stiffly.
There was a moment of silence.
He smiled and said, “Okay.”
After speaking, he strode into the hospital in the rain.

I frowned and said to the driver, “Cao Shu, please help me to assist her inside.”
“Okay, good.”
