The ten bodyguards and five assistants assigned to her security had failed to take care of her

I should have taken her with me the flight, keeping her closer to me. However, it wasn’t my intention to leave her all alone. The media circus forced me to arrange a private jet for her safety

Taking a deep breath, I thanked God and comforted Jane, asking her about the address,

Echo quickly became attentive to take notes, and repeated the address as jane told me

The address of that mansion caught me off guard; I was unable to believe my ears. A cold pit of ice knotted my stomach as the location of this haunted building trembled my heart. My voice came out shakier than 1 intended it to be as questioned Jane to confirm my deepest dreads.

My little girl responded to a thrilled invitation to continue playing and spoke gleefully,

Jane’s reply reminded me of a five–year–old cute boy who was her competitor in junior STEM competitions. They both were participating in kids level aerospace challenges, where my Jane was the best participant every time due to her matchless talent for spatial reasoning and rocket design.
However, the connection of my daughter’s friend and that address from my dark past couldn’t make sense. I was pondering over this mystery when Jane’s excited voice resounded in my want.

“Mr. Reel, we are here on behalf of Jane’s mother to take her home.”
Standing at the double doors of the White mansion, my assistant, Echo, announced the purpose of our visit confidently.
The presence of armed guards and countless servants didn’t intimidate her, she was performing her duty professionally.

Felix’s tall muscular figure exuded a cold and cunning demeanor as if possessing sharp insight and decisiveness as a businessman. I had seen news where he had invested heavily in various space technology companies, emerging as a formidable competitor in the commercial aerospace sector
His signature aloof look didn’t waver a bit as Echo handed him a file. He barely looked at the authorization documents before replying frostily.

Her cute voice filled my heart with love, removing the uneasiness of seeing Felix shortly after coming to Boston. Crouching down, I gently kissed her

Patting her head, I asked her, “Please wait for me with Aunt Echo, Jane.”
My obedient daughter swiftly followed my instructions, so I stood up and took off my sunglasses, finally revealing my identity. The guards immediately recognized me, parting to make way for me. I composed myself while walking up to Felix and approached him with a straight face.
