Chapter 27
After listening to the story, Eloise’s eyes were already wet. She had never known how much Zackery had done to be
with her.
She signed Zackery’s hand, leaving her handprint in his palm. “Zackery, you have worked so hard all these years.”
Zackery’s nose tingled as she spoke, and he hugged her tightly. “Elle, it’s you who suffered.”
Yvonne stood outside, already getting impatient. She reached out and knocked on the door, her tone irritated.
“Hey, have you two had enough of being lovey-dovey? The rest of us have been waiting at this station for ages. With that, Yvonne pushed open the door, with Leandro, Laurel, Elaine standing behind her.”
A group of people looked at each other in embarrassment, as if they had been caught eavesdropping in a corner.
Eloise felt a little embarrassed as she got off Zackery.
Yvonne pushed Eloise to the doorway. “I have something to say to your husband,” she said. Eloise had no choice but to stand with Leandro and Laurel.
Yvonne walked up to Zackery, her voice barely above a whisper.
They faintly heard a few words. “My condition is…” After that, they couldn’t hear clearly.
Yvonne finished speaking and then looked at Zackery seriously, “Even if I am at the ends of the earth, I will come back to slap you if you can’t do it.”
Zackery chuckled. “I got it.”
After Yvonne finished speaking, she walked up to Eloise, and took out a pendant from her bag, handing it to Eloise. “This is the gift I prepared for you when you turned eighteen, but I never ended up giving it to you.”
Eloise remembered that day when the whole family went out, leaving her alone in the room to spend her birthday.
Eloise once thought it was the darkest birthday she had ever had, but now she looked at the doll pendant in her hand, feeling a pang of nostalgia.
There was always someone who loved her, wasn’t there?
Yvonne saw that her eyes were slightly red, and she turned her face away unnaturally, saying, “Don’t cry, if you cry, I will take it back.”
Eloise burst into tears, but then she saw the suitcase Yvonne had left at the door. “Vonnie, where are you going?”
Yvonne shrugged her shoulders, “You can’t stand our parents, and neither can I. Whoever wants to inherit the family property can have it, I don’t want it anyway. I’m going to be a backpacker in my own world.”

Yvonne was a naturally free spirit, but her parents kept her confined at home from a young age, like a carefree young foal locked in a cage.
Years ago, Yvonne always lived uncomfortably and her temper became increasingly harsh. However, after experienc- ing life and death, she suddenly understood.
She only lives once in this lifetime, why not make herself happier.
Eloise knew she couldn’t persuade her, so she bent down and gave her a hug, “Be safe, I’ll be waiting for you at
home.”
Yvonne smelled the floral scent on her sister, and she had always envied why her sister had a scent while she did not. So as an adult, she became passionate about spraying various perfumes.
But today she suddenly let go. All the resentment and jealousy she had since childhood, at this moment, turned into a hug.
Yvonne hugged Eloise tightly and whispered in her ear, “Sis, I love you.”
Eloise smiled. “Me too.”
Yvonne left. Eloise and Zackery watched her leave together.
Suddenly remembering something, Eloise turned to Zackery and asked, “What did Vonnie tell you? What were her conditions?”
Zackery smiled, his eyes filled with tenderness. “She said her condition was for me to love you well, respect you, and always put your opinions first.”
