“Honey, I’m sorry. When I helped Kelvin, I had no idea who Jeannette really was.
Eddy
dy couldn’t stand to see Blanche so upset. He pulled her gently into his arms, then turned to the school principal. “Change the dedication for the second building. Make it in honor of my wife.”
“Mr. Simmons?” The principal could hardly hide his delight–after all, the school had nothing to lose. “If you’re changing the donation, then Jeannette’s admission. points won’t be enough. We’ll have to remove her from the roster and revoke her honors diploma.”
Meeting Blanche’s icy gaze, Eddy didn’t hesitate for a second. “And change the name of the building, too. Call it the Mamie Hall.”
Mamie–the daughter they had lost, whom they still mourned.
The moment Blanche heard the name, a sharp ache twisted in her chest. Her
stomach turned, and she hurried to the restroom.
Eddy followed close behind, ready with tissues and a reassuring hand on her back. “Sweetheart, are you feeling sick? Do you want to see a doctor?”
Blanche spent a long moment at the sink, but nothing came up.
Eddy’s dark eyes grew even more intense. The way she was reacting–it reminded him of how she’d been when she was pregnant with Healy and Clara.
“No need. Taking medicine on an empty stomach always does this.” Blanche took. the tissues from him, offering a casual excuse.
“Then let me take you to get something to eat,” Eddy said softly, his eyes lingering on her flat stomach despite himself.
“There’s one more thing I have to take care of first.” Blanche brushed aside his hand, determined.
Blanche headed straight to the nearest police station. “Officer, I’d like to report at theft. Someone stole my mother’s belongings.”
Eddy stood silently by her side, his expression detached, as if he were merely an observer.
“Can you give us the details? When and where did it happen? Do you have a suspect?” the officer asked.
Blanche replied calmly, “It was back in 2016, in Embermire. The suspect’s name is

Rhoda. Here’s her current address. I saw her with a real silk dress and a diamond necklace that belonged to my mother, but there should be more.”
She took out her phone and logged onto an auction house website in Embermire Sheila’s jewelry and accessories were worth a fortune, and there were records and photos of them on the site, including purchase years and Images. One by one, Blanche pointed out the missing pieces. “All of these are gone.”
“Are you certain Rhoda took them? Mrs. Simmons, this is a theft that happened in Embermire. Without solid evidence, we can’t open an official case just on your word,” the officer said.
“I’m sure she took them.” Blanche exited the website and opened Jeannette’s social media feed, showing off the luxury her family enjoyed every day.
“Look, that’s my mother’s diamond necklace around Rhoda’s neck in this photo.” Blanche zoomed in, showing the officer the distinctive S–shaped engraving–identical to the one recorded by the auction house.
The police used their resources to verify the evidence. “That should be enough to get a search warrant. If we find the items at the address you’ve given, she won’t be getting away.

“Wait for our news.” The officers immediately set out for Jeannette’s villa to make
the arrest.
“Thank you, officer.” Blanche glanced at Eddy, who remained as calm and impassive as ever, seemingly unaffected by the developments.
She didn’t notice the way his sharp gaze kept drifting to her stomach. “Honey, take a seat and rest. I’ll have the housekeeper bring you something to eat–you’ll get dizzy if you go too long without food.”
Blanche’s eyes grew colder. Clearly, he was planning to warn Jeannette, but she trusted the police would do their job.
She said nothing as Eddy gently ruffled her hair and left the building.
He stepped outside and immediately phoned the hospital. “Put me through to Dr.
Smith.”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Simmons, Dr. Smith is attending a medical conference overseas.”
“When will he be back?”
“In three days.”
Three days. He could wait.

No one in Novandria would dare cross him–but until he had answers, he couldnt let his guard down.
Meanwhile, Rhoda was taken into custody. The police found a trove of jewelry, designer dresses, and luxury goods at her home–all matching the records and photos Blanche had provided, not a single thing missing
“Officer, don’t listen to her! My husband gave those things to me!” Rhoda insisted desperate. With Sheila gone, there was no one left to contradict her, and Pollock naturally took her side.
Blanche gave a cold laugh. “Jewelry is personal property. Those belonged to my mother. Pollock had no right to give them to you!”
When she saw she was losing, Rhoda lashed out, her composure cracking. “You little vixen! Not younger, not prettier, not better than my daughter, so you play dirty! Listen to me–this won’t end here. My daughter won’t let you off so easily!”
The moment Eddy heard someone cursing at Blanche, he strode into the station lobby. His dark, menacing eyes fixed on Rhoda. “And what exactly does your daughter–plan to do to my wife?”
