Jason’s pupils constricted
Before he could finish, Kelsey’s lips curled into a batter smile.

Jason blinked, then fromed. “Why would you need a physical if nothing’s wrong?”
“I haven’t been feeling well,” Kelsey replied evenly. “What about you? Are you here with Hannah for her appointment?”

“Don’t read into it. I just ran into her on my way here and offered her a ride.

She was beyond caring now, “I have class. I should go.”
She turned and walked away,

The clinic doors closed behind bar with a soft hiss, and Kekey stood motionless for a moment, letting the cool spring air wash over her feverish Her chest ached with a dull persistent throb that medication couldn’t touch. Kelsey headed straight back to campus.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that people were staring and whispering as she passed. Every glance, every hushed conversation seemed directed at her. Her dancer’s posture–normally so perfect–now felt like armor, the only thing keeping her from collapsing under the weight of the stares
