Dylan had already figured it out in Julian’s heart, my position was not ordinary.
Chad scoffed.
He was clearly a bit drunk.
“What, can’t say anything? Isn’t Lily Evans a gold digger? And a mistress’s daughter, too.”
“Her sister is the only one worthy of being called ‘Mrs. Harrington,‘ what is Lily Evans
even!”
The atmosphere instantly froze.
The next second, I suddenly stepped forward and slapped Chad across the face.
Before anyone could react, I followed up with a kick to his groin.
“Ah-!”
Chad let out a shriek of pain.

I looked down at him, condescendingly.
“Chad, four years later, and your mouth is still as filthy as ever?”
Chad writhed on the ground in agony.
He tried to retaliate, but couldn’t even straighten his back.
Dylan looked at me, sighing.
“Lily, don’t mind him. He’s just a clueless idiot who speaks without thinking.”
Victoria walked over then, her eyes fixed on me with a burning intensity.

“Little sister, your mother was a mistress, and you want to be one too–is that what they
call following in your mother’s footsteps?”
At her words, the atmosphere grew even more eerie.
I looked up at Victoria, the lights casting shadows on her exquisitely made–up face.
After four years, she still hadn’t grown at all.
Before, she relied on that haughty, aloof demeanor to attract Julian’s attention.
Now, she was still just as ridiculous.
I calmly met her gaze.
“My mother wasn’t a mistress. She only met Dad a year after your mom and Dad got
divorced.”
“And, the reason Dad and your mother divorced–it’s because your mother cheated.”
The entire room fell silent.
Even Chad quieted down.
Victoria’s face was pale, her body swaying precariously.

“You’re lying!”
“You know whether it’s true or not.”
I stepped closer to her.
Victoria knew the truth perfectly well.
She suppressed me only to stand on moral high ground and gain public sympathy.
My words precisely hit Victoria’s raw nerve.
She raised her hand to slap me.
I was prepared, and firmly gripped her wrist.
“Victoria, now, do you think you can still lay a hand on me?”
“Let go of me!”
Victoria glared at me venomously.
“If
you
do this, Julian won’t let you off!”
Just as I was about to speak, Julian’s voice rang out from behind me.
“Who won’t I let off?”
Julian had appeared behind me at some point.
Victoria immediately pursed her lips stubbornly, saying nothing.
This trick used to work on Julian.
But now, Julian only found her awkward and pretentious.
Julian ignored her, his gaze falling on my face, “Were you wronged?”
I forcefully released Victoria’s hand, “No.”

Though I didn’t know why Julian had become so strange after four years.
Julian abruptly turned his head to look at me, “You… what did you say?”
