My crippled 9

My crippled 9

Chapter 9

Just as my in-laws stepped out, Savannah suddenly flung the broom aside and pinched her nose in pure disgust.

“God, is this even a place fit for human beings? And you two actually sat here and ate like it was nothing?”

Jeremiah and our son froze in disbelief. “Savannah, what did you just say?”

Savannah grew more agitated. “Are you two even human? Sitting in this filth, eating like it’s some gourmet feast, what’s the difference between you and maggots crawling in a public toilet?”

“Don’t even mention food. Just looking at this mess makes me want to vomit!”

My son blinked, clearly confused. “Aunt Savannah…”

Savannah quickly waved him off, her face twisted with revulsion. “Don’t ever call me that again. The sound alone makes me nauseous.”

“Who raised a kid to talk like that? Then again, with your upbringing, it all makes sense.”

My son’s lips trembled, and his eyes welled up with tears.

In the past, the moment he called out “Aunt Savannah,” she’d bend over backward to fulfill every absurd whim of his. But this time was different.

Jeremiah, humiliated, grabbed the takeout bags and hurled them to the floor. “Screw it! I’m not eating anymore!”

Savannah gave him a cold glance, like she was looking at a fool. “Eat or don’t, who cares? Less food means less waste and less stink. Honestly, that’s a win.”

Jeremiah stared at her in disbelief.

From the moment he met Savannah, he had thought she was gentle, considerate, unlike other

women.

But now, it was clear he had been completely mistaken.

“Savannah… what about our marriage?”

She scoffed. “If you were me, would you marry a cripple who can’t even handle the toilet alone?” “Jeremiah, are you dumb? I was just playing with you. Did you seriously think I liked you?” “You’re old enough to be my dad. Just look at this piss-covered floor. Have you no shame?”

Jeremiah slammed the table. “Ungrateful bitch! Don’t forget, I ended up like this saving you!”

Savannah rolled her eyes. “You call that saving someone? I’m embarrassed for you.”

“Let’s be real, if it weren’t for my looks and body, would you have jumped in at all?”

Jeremiah trembled with fury. “I should’ve let you drown, you bitch!”

“Say whatever you want,” Savannah replied coolly. “But don’t expect to ever see me again. You and your brat can rot in this cesspit of a house.”

With that, she turned and walked out without a glance back.

Jeremiah slumped over the table, sobbing.

My son cried too, still gnawing on his chicken leg.

I quietly packed my things.

“I didn’t take anything valuable. It’s all left for you and Jaxon.”

Jeremiah’s eyes filled with tears. “You’re leaving me, too, Diana?”

I smiled. “Don’t try the pity act. Weren’t you just the one screaming for a divorce?”

Jeremiah screamed like a madman.

“I won’t divorce you! Don’t even think about it! Even if I die, I’ll come back and haunt you! Aaaah!”

I gave a slight nod. “Tell that to the lawyer.”

Just as I reached the door, Jaxon rushed over and grabbed my suitcase, eyes filled with helpless

fear.

“Mom, please don’t go… I’m scared.”

“Dad’s terrifying like this. I can’t sleep at night.”

I yanked the suitcase from his grip. “If you can’t sleep, then think about how I treated you… and how you treated me.”

No mother is truly heartless to her own child.

I carried him for ten long months; he was my flesh and blood.

But just like Jeremiah, he was already rotten to the core. No matter how much I gave, it would always be wasted.
