Chapter 3
A Month Later
Kyle’s POV
“Where is she?” I glared at the members before me, their heads bowed.
“It’s been a month since she left, and you can’t find a girl with no wolf power? Pathetic,” I growled, slapping the table hard enough to crack it.
“Young Alpha, we’ve tried
but there’s no trace of
her in the territory. No one saw her leave the border,” one replied.
I closed my eyes. “Get out of my sight until you find her and bring her back.”
A month had passed since Irina left the pack.
At first, I thought she’d come back after cooling

down, but she was gone.
I didn’t expect my relationship with Jenika to affect her this deeply.
Despite knowing Irina was my destined mate, Jenika captured my heart.
Irina’s presence had always provided strength, but without her, I felt lost.
The night she rejected me, the pain burned through my chest.

If Dad hadn’t given me a healing pill, I don’t know what would have happened. Irina refused my offer and rejected me as her mate.
I needed her to claim the Alpha title, but she’d
left.
Didn’t I tell her I was responsible for her? I
wanted to grant her rights as Luna, except for the title.

But she refused.

“Is there still no news about her?” Jenika asked,
standing at the doorway, worry etched on her face.
I shook my head. She gave a sad smile and walked towards me.
“If it weren’t for me, she would still be here. I overestimated our relationship.

I frowned. “Don’t blame yourself. She’s just angry and hiding.”
“But she rejected you,” Jenika reminded me, pain evident in her voice.
“Leave,” I said coldly. “I have work to do.”
Jenika’s face turned pale.
“Kyle, I know you’re worried about Irina. She’s been missing for a month, and I’m worried too.

She’s my sister, even if we aren’t related by
blood. We grew up together. This isn’t easy for any of us.”
I looked at her, her beauty marred by tears. I pulled her close.

“Don’t worry. She doesn’t know anyone outside of us. She’ll have to come back.”
I wasn’t even sure if I believed my own words.
“Really?” Jenika raised her head, searching my face.
I nodded, trying to assure her.
We’d always known this day might come and had discussed how to handle it.
But Irina was proving harder to find than we anticipated. A knock on the door interrupted us.
“Alpha is calling you to the Astrology room,”

Casper said, not hiding his disdain.
I nodded. “I’ll be right there.”
He left without another word.

“Why is Alpha calling us to the Astrology room?” Jenika asked.
“Maybe because of Priest Justin’s arrival. Dad’s
been anxious and invited him to read the stars.” I replied.
“Will there be complications?”
“I don’t know. We’ll find out,” I said, leading her to the Astrology room.
Inside, we found Dad, Mom, and Jenika’s parents. Priest Justin, a renowned astrologer, sat at the center.
I’d met him a few times, his predictions always accurate.

“We’ve been waiting for you, Kyle,” Dad said, nodding.

We settled on nearby couches, with Priest Justin at the center.
“Things haven’t been going well in the pack. One problem after another. Please give us guidance,” Dad requested.
Priest Justin closed his eyes, threw cowrie shells on a green cloth, and muttered incantations. Opening his eyes, he examined the shells.
“There’s something amiss,” he said. “Who in your pack has Scorpius as their birth star constellation?”
We looked at each other. Identifying a child’s birth star at birth was crucial, but Scorpius was
rare.
“We don’t have anyone with Scorpius,” Dad
replied.

Priest Justin shook his head. “You do. The pack’s fortune was balanced by a lucky star, but now it’s gone.”
“Who’s the lucky star, Priest Justin?” I asked.
蜜!
“Your star, Pegasi, is weak, but you were bonded
with a lucky star that turned misfortune into fortune. Why did you lose it?”
His question puzzled me. Lucky star?
“What does that mean, Priest Justin?” Dad asked.
“It means heaven united a lucky star with your pack. Now that bond is broken, and the lucky star has gone to its rightful place,” he explained.
“And the solution?” Dad asked, clearly anxious.
“There is none. Your pack must face its
predestined calamity,” Priest Justin concluded, leaving us in stunned silence.

I approached Dad. “What does he mean? I don’t understand.”
Dad looked at me, eyes filled with anger. Before I knew it, he slapped me hard enough to turn my head. Mom gasped, and Jenika rushed to my
side.
“You couldn’t understand the simple interpretation? Who left the pack? Figure it out!”
he shouted, storming off.
I held my cheek, mind racing.
Rack my mind.
Who left?
Suddenly, it hit me.
Irina.
She was the lucky star, the pack’s fortune. Her departure triggered the impending calamity.

My eyes widened in shock. Irina, the lucky star of Shadow Blades Pack, was gone, and the calamity had begun.
Irina’s POV
As I lay there, every inch of me hurt. It was like my body had become a cumbersome weight I couldn’t lift.
I kept my eyes shut, drowning in the unfamiliar voices surrounding me.
“Has she woken up?” a voice asked nearby.
–
“No, I’m still watching her,” another replied.
“Mom’s anxious. She’s been praying so hard.”
“I’m quite excited too,” a third voice chimed in. “I never thought this day would come.”

Who were these people, and what were they saying?
I remembered leaving the pack house.
If they found me and brought me back, I would have to escape again.
I couldn’t bear to face them after everything they’d done.
I heard a voice. “Oh, look, she’s opening her eyes.”
I blinked, slowly lifting my eyelids.
A white ceiling greeted me, adorned with a golden pattern. It was more luxurious than even the Alpha’s room from my old pack.
I glanced to the side and saw a woman’s smiling face–naturally beautiful, enough to leave
anyone in awe.
