When Theron got the call, his face went thunderous and he immediately raced to the hospital with his Beta.
His footsteps echoed heavily down the corridor as his mind raced through all of Sylvae’s strange behavior lately-those eyes, that attitude, the cold hostility
toward him and Delilah.
Two hospital rooms sat side by side. Theron stood between them, torn about which door to push open first.
While he hesitated, a nurse approached carrying a manila envelope.
Alpha Ashgrave, this spilled out of Ms. Vexley’s things when we brought her in. Should I return it to her?”
heron took the envelope and flipped it open without much thought, then his eyes went wide with shock.
nside were surveillance photos and financial records clearly showing someone who looked exactly like Sylvae leaving the Ashgrave pack the night before thei

Stand-in…?” His voice was hoarse, his fingers unconsciously tightening until the envelope crumpled in his grip.

heron’s head shot up, fury blazing in his eyes as he turned toward the hospital room to confront whoever the hell was lying in that bed.

heron studied her with cold calculation, catching the flicker of panic she tried to hide.

elilah went rigid, then scrambled for an explanation: “I… I was just worried you were being fooled…”
heron brushed past her and shoved open the door to Sylvae’s room, only to find it completely empty.

The Fenwicks?” Theron’s expression turned deadly. He barked at his Beta: “I want these documents verified now, and get the car. We’re going to Fenwick pack!

heron stopped short, pinning her with his stare: “I just want to know where the real Sylvae Fenwick is,”
Delilah’s face went white, her fake composure finally cracking: “Theron, you… you’re not actually developing feelings for her, are you?”
heron didn’t answer, just studied her for a long, uncomfortable moment before walking away.
Delilah stood there shaking, her fingers digging into her palms as panic and regret crashed over her-she’d thought exposing the impostor would clear her path o Theron, but this was spiraling out of control,
Watching Delilah beside him, Theron’s suspicions grew stronger.
Her behavior was off too.
He pulled out his phone and fired off a text to his Beta:
*Run a full background check on Delilah Vexley. Find out why she was really investigating this.”
