Theron staggered backward, completely blindsided, blood seeping from his split lip.
“Get your fucking hands off her!” Evander planted himself between Theron and Nyra, his wolf practically snarling beneath his skin. “Touch her again and I’m calling the Wardens.”
Theron wiped the blood from his lip, his gaze shifting coldly between Evander and Nyra.
Her expression remained perfectly calm, as if none of this concerned her in the slightest.
“So that’s how it is…” Theron’s laugh was sharp and bitter. “You ran straight to another wolf?”
Nyra stood slowly, brushing off her dress with clinical precision: “You really think highly of yourself, don’t you, Alpha?”
‘I didn’t leave because of anyone else.”
Theron’s pupils dilated: “Then why did you run? What we had-”
We never had shit.” Nyra finally looked directly at him, her stare cold. “Did you forget already? I played your perfect Luna for three years to get my freedom.
Contract’s fulfilled. We’re done.”
Done?” Theron’s voice turned deadly. “You think we can just be done?”
What else? You didn’t actually think I gave a damn about you, did you?”
heron went white as a sheet, like she’d ripped his heart out through his throat. He tried to speak but couldn’t force words past the devastation.

heron’s expression turned lethal, his fists clenching audibly: “Who the hell do you think you are? She is my mate! This has nothing to do with you!”
Mate?” Nyra turned back. “What happened to your precious Delilah? Isn’t she waiting for her Alpha to come home?”
There’s nothing between us!” Theron’s control finally snapped. “Everything with her was bullshit! I can explain it all—”
Don’t waste your breath.” Nyra’s calm was more terrifying than any rage. “Whatever you do with your Omega is none of my concern.”
he paused, her eyes turning to ice: “I’ll say this one last time, Theron-I never loved you. Not once.”
The words hit like a blade straight through his heart. His breathing stopped, his entire world crashing around him.
Nyra walked away with Evander without another glance,
Theron stood there bleeding inside as they disappeared, fury and agony warring in his chest.
He didn’t believe it.
He couldn’t believe she’d never felt anything for him.
He couldn’t accept that all her care and sacrifice had been an act.
“Nyra!” He roared after her retreating form, his voice cracking with desperation. “This isn’t over! Do you hear me? This will never be over!”

Theron’s fist exploded against a nearby tree, his knuckles splitting open on impact.
The pain was nothing compared to the agony eating him alive from the inside.
He stared after her with eyes gone wild and desperate.
