Chapter 60
The man who moments ago had been lying motionless and lifeless on the floor now slowly sat up and looked around in bewilderment.
Im… I’m not dead?” he murmured in disbelief as he glanced around.
“Don’t worry. You’ll be fine for the time being”
With a calm, clear gaze, Zina walked past Wade and approached the man.
She offered a gentle reminder, ‘Just a word of advice: business is important, but you should really take care of your life too.”
“Y–yeah…I see,” the man stammered, his cheeks flushing as he fixed his eyes on Zina.
He rubbed his hands together nervously, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. Emotions flickered in his eyes.
“I suppose I really should take a break now. Thank you you’re truly amazing. If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact me. As long as it’s within my power, I’ll move heaven and earth for you.”
He gave Zina a deep, heartfelt bow and handed her his business card. Smiling, he gave a polite nod to people around before walking out, without a backward glance.
A profound silence settled over the banquet hall. Unnoticed by anyone, a man standing on the balcony on the second floor fixed his sharp gaze on the scene below, eyes glinting with intrigue.
“So that’s the Sinclair girl?” Hayden murmured, “Oddly familiar technique…
He raised an eyebrow at Kellan. Seeing Kellan still lost in thought, he teased. “Guess what? Could she be that “fox doctor‘ you’ve been pining for?”
Kellan rolled his eyes at him. “If you can’t talk sense, just shut up.”
Then he ignored Hayden and fixed his attention once more on Zina, the woman at the center of everyone’s focus.
As he covered the upper half of her face with his hand, a sudden, overwhelming wave of familiarity hit him–his head jerked up sharply.
‘Could it be her?” he wondered.
Downstairs, Zina turned around with a gentle smile.
“Long time no see, Mr. Sylvan.”
“Hmph, so you do remember to come back and see me? I suppose this old man isn’t worth your time anymore.”
For the first time, a flicker of reluctant pride crossed Wade’s perpetually aloof face.
The rest were dumbfounded, utterly clueless about what was happening
Only Miles‘ eyes flickered with recognition as he rose from his seat, poised to approach Zina–only to meet her sharp. warning gaze.

Her parting words- “Keep my identity a secret–suddenly flashed into his mind. Swallowing his urge to approach, Milest forced himself to stay put, exchanging a gaze with Zina from across the room.
Zina breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Wade.
“Not at all! It’s been ages, Mr. Sylvan, and you’re looking as spry as ever!”
“What do you think? I’ve only been clinging to this old life just to see you again.
Wade let out a resigned sigh and looked up at her, his eyes still bright.
“Ah, forget it. Honestly, I came here today just to see you. So, will you finally consider becoming my disciple this time? Everything I have will be yours. Just think about it, will you?”
None of the guests had ever seen Wade speak to anyone like this before. They all stood frozen in shock.
Finally, a member of the Quinn family stepped forward. “So you’re the real Miss Sinclair,” he said with an awkward chuckle. “We didn’t see you earlier at all.
Zina twisted her lips. Thinking to herself, ‘Fat chance you’d have seen me–I was kept outside the whole time!
But she couldn’t exactly say that. In the end, she just offered a slight nod. “I’ve only just arrived.”
At that moment, a figure rushed to Victor’s side, whispering something urgent, Victor’s face darkened.
A few seconds later, he regained his composure. “Miss Sinclair,” he said, “please forgive my poor hospitality. There’s an urgent matter I need to attend to, so I’ll have to excuse myself for a moment,
“Of course,” Zina replied deferentially. She had already recognized him as the Quinn family’s temporary head.
Victor left in such haste that he didn’t even acknowledge Miles.
Only after he had completely vanished did a low murmur ripple through the crowd.
