Chapter 116
The oppressive atmosphere filled the room. Zina couldn’t quite define the turmoil in her heart. She pursed her lips, staying silent for a few moments, then abruptly lifted her head, fixing Kellan with an unwavering stare.
Zina said, “I agree to cooperate, but I have my own terms–no interruptions when I’m working, and any arrangements you have must be communicated to me in advance.”
Kellan remarked, “Miss Sinclair, you certainly don’t hold back, do you?”
Kellan arched a brow slightly, a knowing look playing on his face.
Zina paused. “So, you’re unwilling?”
“Not at all. I admire you, Miss Sinclair. We have a deal.” Kellan’s voice rang out, clear and crisp, each word falling like pearls onto plates.
Zina felt the tension in her chest ease slightly. Out of Kellan’s sight, she quietly released a held breath.
Still smug. Zina didn’t notice Kellan watching her, a knowing smile playing at his lips and quiet amusement in his eyes.
“Alright, Miss Sinclair. To show you I mean business, I’ve got something to show you,” he said.
Kellan clapped his hands. Almost immediately, a man entered, carrying a tray draped with crimson cloth.
The tray was unusually large, with a crimson cloth draping loosely over it, drawing immediate attention.
Zina froze momentarily, her heart hammering so violently it felt like it might burst from her chest.
Kellan’s fingertips hovered over the tray. With a sharp tug, he yanked the crimson cloth off. It fluttered to the floor, unveiling the contents beneath.
On the small tray lay a single flash drive.
Zina froze for a moment, lips pressed tight, at a loss for words.
Kellan observed every subtle movement of the woman before him, a knowing smile curling at his lips. “This contains what you’re after. You came to Springvale for the Sinclair family, didn’t you?”
“How did you “Zina’s words died in her throat as her eyes suddenly met Kellan’s piercing gaze. In that instant, everything became clear.
“Mr. Carter, you don’t have any deep–seated grudge against the Sinclair family, do you?” Zina said, her tone half–joking, half- cautious. “With all this help, I must admit, I’m a bit overwhelmed.”
Zina took the flash drive, her gaze locked intensely on Kellan.
Kellan remained unfazed, merely shrugging slightly. “I’m not too fond of being probed that deeply either.”
Zina fell silent, studying Kellan for a moment. Then, a wave of relief washed over her, as if she could finally let go.

away from my duties too long–1 must return now,” Zina said.
Kellan nodded, watching Zina walk away.
Not until Zina’s figure had completely vanished did a flicker of hesitation finally cross Kellan’s previously impassive face.
Kellan asked. “Do you think she could really be the Silver Hands?”
As Kellan’s voice faded, a man emerged from the suite.
Hayden shook his head. “Kellan, you’re overthinking this. Silver Hands isn’t like her–her personality just doesn’t fit. Besides, didn’t you already test her last time? Silver Hands has an Adam’s apple; he’s clearly a man.”
Kellan shook his head, rubbing his temples. “Even an Adam’s apple can be faked,” he muttered. “Never mind, we’ll see how this plays out”
Zina is truly something else. Even though Kellan still hadn’t fully figured out what was going on, he thought to himself, “Sooner or later, I’ll unmask who she really is.
Kellan suddenly clenched his fingers at his sides, took a deep breath, and let his thoughts wander.
