Chapter 1
“Kill her. He doesn’t want her back. She’s worthless.”
That was the last thing I heard before escaping. My heart was breaking into pieces as I fled from my pursuers, limping and bleeding.
Chrysander Chrysander.. I kept trying to reach out to him, but our bond was not strong enough to let me through or he wasn’t responding “Help me, please.. Save me..”
Too exhausted to continue, I collapsed in the middle of a deserted road. I had put up a fight, but I was stabbed in the the head.
As I felt my consciousness slowly drifting away, I began hearing voices.
“You don’t belong here.
“Why were you even bom?”
“Who would ever want you?”
You’re a disgrace to this pack!‘
One by one, sad and painful memories flashed through my head.
side and hit hard in
I was starting to feel numb, and I could no longer shift into my she–wolf form. The Moon Goddess stared down dimly at me, as though pitying me. I could merely gaze back, tears falling from my eyes.
“How did it turn out this way? Why did this have to happen…?”
Tonight was the Silvermoon Inc’s anniversary, an event held every year to celebrate the founding of a most successful conglomerate.
As soon as we arrived, my mate and husband, Chrysander Silvermoon, had gone off somewhere, leaving me alone.
I had tried talking with the other members of the pack but only to get reminded again that I was as unwelcomed as ever. One of them spilled a glass of wine and got my dress dirty on purpose. Another tripped me in front of the other guests when I tried to go to the comfort room.
To make it worse, his childhood friend, Emma Greenhill, came and humiliated me before everyone.
“Enjoy this evening as much as you can, Vivienne,” sneered the voluptuous female alpha of the famed Greenhill pack. “Seeing that you still don’t have Chrysander’s mark. I assume this will be your last one.”
Marking was normally the first step of the mating process. A pair with no marks meant that they were not fully bonded yet. Being able to easily link minds and feelings was one of the abilities only marked mates had.
No longer able to take the mockery, I left like a coward–only to then come across my kidnappers, who took me by force and demanded ransom money from Chrysander but were ignored.
“That can’t be… He won’t let me get killed just like that…‘ I thought as I tried to open our mind link one last time, to reach out to him as far as our bond would allow me. “ARGH!”
It didn’t connect this time either, instead, I was repelled harder than before, and though it was brief, I could feel mild irritation coming from Chrysander. My head felt like splitting apart. That took a lot of energy out of me, as we weren’t full–fledged mates who could share thoughts and emotions without one of us being in pain.
“So, he really cut me off..? My heart was crushed.
I lay still on the ground while soaked in a pool of blood, cold, hurting, and alone, so close to caving into everyone’s words of contempt, to near unconsciousness, to this harsh reality that was my life.
No one at home wanted me back anyway. Nobody would grieve. Not even the person I loved most.
My mate and husband was the perfect alpha,
1 did everything I could so that I would be able to stand next to him as his Luna. From striving to be competent to enduring abuse in his park, Isacficed all I had to make him look my way. I lauad even left my y own pack in ruins just to be with my alpha.
But until the very end, I was shunned away.

Chapter 1
“Marriage and love are not the same,” I recalled my aunt–in–law, Titania, say to me once. “For paired mates to succeed in marriage.
what’s important is not the love that blooms between them, but rather, their ability to live together. You two are simply incompatible. Vivienne Redstone. It would be hard to keep living together like this, especially given your difference in status. As you are now, you are only going to drag him down.”
Now, I understood what she meant. An omega with no status or accomplishment marrying and bonding with the alpha of a large, influential pack just wasn’t going to work out; I had always known that. But still, I could not help myself.
I loved him far too much.
“N–No, no, no C–Chrysander. P–Please, save me…” More tears fell from my eyes as I pleaded in between trembling puffs of breath “Please, c–come… C–Chrysander..”
1 knew all this time that he never loved me; after all, he already rejected me. But I had forced myself to believe that he would accept me someday if I tried hard enough. I just loved him so much that I didn’t want to stop waiting for him even now.
I beg of you. Don’t leave me…”
Yet, my eyes soon closed, and everything faded into darkness
The noises w
woke me up.
For some reason, it was so loud around me. I tried to open my eyes to see, but as I did, I felt a hand grab my shoulder aggressively–a cold, rough hand. Now fully awake, I looked up to find a tall figure above me.
“What in the goddamn hell happened here?!” exclaimed a man with an angry scowl on his face–a complete stranger.
Dressed up in a high–quality tailored suit, with well–groomed white hair gleaming a compelling luster and keen, steely gray eyes, he appeared before me like a big, bad wolf cornering a weak and small rabbit
“Who do you think you’re touching, you creep?” I screamed as I threw a punch straight at the man’s face.
