Chapter 10
On my third day living in the Silvermoon’s estate, I was told that one of the elders of the pack would be coming to visit.
The butler had informed me that it was my aunt–in–law, which kind of piqued my curiosity. “So, it’s His Majesty’s aunt, huh? I wonder what she’s like As I stood on the top of the staircase, I had a glimpse of the stone–faced woman in the foyer downstairs.
She had a stern look to her that made her seem unapproachable. What’s more, the elder was wearing quite the cumbersome clothing. She had a ton of jewelry adorning her body, and her face was painted thick with dark makeup.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but knowing that this Titania Silvermoon was Chrysander’s aunt, I’d better be prepared.
“Hey, there! Good morning,” I greeted as I made my way to her. “So, uh, how’s it going?”
I had no idea how rich people were supposed to start up a conversation. So, I just decided to go with whatever I came up with.
“So, they’re right. You’ve changed.” Titania started with an ambiguous tone. “You don’t look that tense and timid anymore. It’s quite flummoxing.”
“Umm… Thanks?” I blurted out, not sure what she was on about. “Do rich people use a language that commoners like me don’t understand?
“I’m not complimenting you, Titania pointed out sharply. “I’m saying that you lack character and discipline. Looks like you have to undergo lessons again.”
“Huh? I’m going back to school?”
“Of course not, fool. What would people say about the mate of the Silvermoon’s Alpha repeating her study? You’d only humiliate the pack even more than you already have.”
As early as now, I have figured out what my aunt–in–law thought of me. I kept quiet as she walked past me, her judging eyes never leaving me. Once we’re side by side, she paused to examine me from head to toe.
I was wearing a plain, simple dress at the moment, which seemed to have not passed Titania’s fashion standards as she said, “How unsightly. Please, do something about your appearance. The Luna of Silvermoon shouldn’t be wearing such rags even if you’re just inside the house. What if people come to visit and see you like this?”
Her voice was full of venom. I expected it but was still a bit surprised.
“Couldn’t you try harder? Take responsibility for the mess you caused by putting more effort i Don’t you feel ashamed?”
into how you act and present yourself.
With that she proceeded to walk further inside the mansion. I only remained silent still, trying to take in all her contemptuous remarks. At the side, I noticed the maids giving me pitying looks.
“His Scumbag Majesty’s aunt, huh? Little did they know that the thoughts running through my head at that moment were anything but pitiful. Very well. You’ll be Her Haughty Highness‘
1 grinned and giggled to myself, feeling pretty proud of that, while the maids now stared at me incredulously, as though I was possessed. “You’ll be meeting the other members of the pack, you hear?” Titania spoke up again, tone and expression austere. “There’ll be a party here tomorrow afternoon Know that this is very important. It’s the first time you’re appearing again in front of other people.”
“A party here?” I quickly turned to look at her. “And it’s already tomorrow?”
“He on your best behavior, and do as you are told,” Titania ordered, not paying any mind to my dumbfounded expression. “I expect that you’ll do at least a satisfactory job. Remember proper etiquette and the like. I believe you’ve had enough time to learn about them.” The old me may have had, but the new me hadn’t at all. Meeting the other park members tomorrow was news to me–a had one, surely, considering that one Silvermoon already felt like a handful. But more than anything. I didn’t want to attend some party with some filthy
Why arent you saying anything? I said that thats is very important You need to do this” Titania muttered, displeased to find me in a daze. “We need to show everyone that you are well now, or else the other packs will keep getting ideas, especially thie Ashwood”
That was Jaden’s pack. Now, I understood what was going on–this was the Silvermoon’s attempt kadrapping incident. But this could be a bad move for Thama

step a foor outside my room again.
Although it was on short notice, the Silvermoon pack did well arranging a party for the Luna’s homecoming, regardless of how unfavored she was
None of them even paid a visit when I was dying in the hospital, I thought bitterly. ‘Now, they’re acting all chummy by throwing a party. that I didn’t have any say about
It was Titania who organized the whole thing, and what she came up with was an outdoor party at the estate’s courtyard. Since there’d be guests from other packs, she’d want to brag about this, of course. It didn’t seem like Chrysander knew about this, though, as he had been on a business trip for almost a week now,
As usual, my mate couldn’t care less about me. I was used to it by now, though, and I preferred it this way. To be honest, I didn’t want the alpha around me.
Standing on the balcony from the upper floor, I looked at the scenery down in the garden.
The exquisite table setting pulled off a gentle, pastel look with all the soft shades that beautifully tied everything together. There were tablescapes that had a lot of textures, with garlands and flowers placed sporadically throughout the food and plates. All the guests who arrived early seemed impressed by the desserts and delicacies, as well as the mix–and–match garden bar that had citrus juices, syrups out of different herbs, and a variety of clear spirits.
If I didn’t know any better, I would think that Her Haughty Highness did all of these for me, I continued to brood. ‘I would be overjoyed that my pack prepared so much for my welcoming party, but looking at all these now…
By organizing such an extravagant banquet in so little time, Titania was trying to impose her power and position in the pack. It went along the line. I may just be an elder, but look at what I can do, or something like, ‘Of course, I’d welcome my dear niece–in–law! To show her how much I care, I threw this party for her, which was exactly what this celebration was for. But in reality, Titania only wanted to put on a show.
“Should I just use this chance to run away?‘ I contemplated. “Everybody’s busy out there, anyway-”
“Kyaaa!!!”

Out of nowhere, a petrified maid came screaming inside the lounge where I’d been hiding from the crowd. I jumped at the ear- screech, then immediately found out the reason behind this
Two rollicking young boys were trying to scare off the poor maid with a jar full of bugs.
They seemed to be twins with big, blue eyes and the Silvermoon pack’s signature silver hair. I walked over to take a closer look, now getting curious as I realized that they resembled Chrysander.
“iley, don’t run away! Just check out what we found! Aren’t they awesome?”
“Y–Young Master Felix, p–please don’t-”
“Why is Nanny freaking out? These are just bugs. Come on! They’re small and cute!‘
“N–No! Put that away, Young Master Rowan!
I felt sort of bad just watching the mayhem.
The
nanny maid was obviously struggling to deal with those little bursts of crackling energy. A few of our house attendants soon came in but were clearly hesitating to intervene.
And that’s how you raise spoiled kids, folks, I deadpanued. “Are they worried they will anger their parents if th

“No one here wants to play with us! Even Mother! It’s all so frustrating!” shouted the kid named Felix, the frisky and boisterous one
Jong the twins
“We dal get time to play, but nobody wants to get along with us. We even tried our best to study every day, huffed the other kid, Rowan, the subbish and aloof one.
“Of course, you can play and rest for the whole day, Young Masters, but…” Felix and Rowan’s nanny maid trailed off, pank replaced by
For some reason, these kids reminded me of when I was a child. I remembered how I used to beg for

but I gave up once I understood that no one cared.
These children, on the other hand, seemed not disciplined at first. But hearing their complaints about studying all the time, I supposed it could also be that their household was ton strict.
“Maybe they’re just genuinely asking for attention, not causing trouble, like all other children are. With that thought in mind, I walked out of my hiding spot and straight to the crowd.
The attendants were all surprised to see me. They’re probably expecting that I’d be outside with the party guests by now. I paid them no mind as I approached the twins.
“Hey, kids! It’s not nice to talk to your nanny like that. What are you, three–year–olds?” 1 teased, then gave both of them a friendly smile to show that I meant no harm.
“We ain’t kids no more! Who’re you talking to?!” Felix exclaimed.
“Yeah. We’re already eight years old,” Rowan added.
“Oh, you’re right already? And you’re not kids anymore, huh? Why don’t we see it for ourselves, then?” I continued before gently taking the jar of bugs away, surprising them.
Just looking at this container would give anyone the creeps. But I’m already used to this since I used to play in the woods as a child.
“Okay, here’s the deal,” I began again. “If you manage not to look away from this jar for one minute, I’ll admit defeat. Show me your manly side, alright? Your nanny’s watching too-
As expected, the cheeky little brats instantly fell for it.
