Chapter 13
I didn’t react to Titania a
and the pack’s attempt to humiliate me.
I was used to this by now, though, I was prepared for this. Still, my lack of response seemed to have entertained the maids who were behind this. I could see them snickering among themselves, their sneering faces full of ridicule.
My brow twitched. These imbeciles.
Even without looking, I could tell that Titania was smirking along with her underlings. I took a look at what had been served to Jaiden. To my relief, he’d been given the same serving as Titania.
But then again, they had to treat him properly as a guest. As part of the Silvermoon pack, they had to put on an act. Not to mention, he was already quite popular among the maids.
It was only his first day working for her, yet he was received incredibly well, though I bet that part of the reason was his good looks.
Being attractive can be a privilege too, it seems. How ridiculous. I begrudgingly thought, deciding to dig in despite my will and ear what I could eat with my kid–sized cutlery. Well, it’s understandable that they’re only targeting me. And it’s better this way. I’d rather have them leave him alone instead of involving him
But knowing Titania, she must be planning to get on his good side so she could use him against me at some point. Of course, she still wasn’t happy to have him here with us, but she had no choice. It was Chrysander’s decision to let him work for me, and she couldn’t do anything about it.
In the end, I was not able to eat anything.
The cutlery that was given to me, which was meant for toddlers, couldn’t even cut through a piece of bread. As if that wasn’t enough, my food had an unappetizing smell to it that kept from taking even a small bite.
Let’s be patient for now. I can’t do anything yet, I told myself as I tried to calm down and keep my cool. As long as Her Highness is around, all my complaints will only fall on deaf ears. The maids have her backing, after all. If I’m going to do something about this, 1 have to do it in one blow. But once I take action, I’ll make sure they’ll regret messing with me!
At least, that’s what I decided. But as soon as the desserts came, things took quite a turn.
The maid who’s in charge of the kitchen had served me a few measly cookies–worse, they’re as hard as rocks. Titania and Jaiden’s desserts seemed fine, which meant that this was again done on purpose. There were whispers and giggles once more, they sure were having a lot of fun.
“Why these dirty little wanted to curse at them, but I held it back. Just you wait. I’m so gonna get you all for this.”
My thoughts had been cut off when Jaiden reached over to take one of my chokles all of a sudden. I didn’t even have a chance to react, as he already went ahead and took a bite. I saw Jaiden’s eyes bulge as wide as saucers at that very second, looking so bewildered.
Before he could ask about it, he also caught sight of the toddler’s toys that I’d been using as tableware. Unsure of what to do or say that moment, I could all but watch as he flared up in anger.
“What the hell is this?” he hissed before whipping his head around to glare at the maids. “Hey, are you messing around?!”
Titania almost jumped when he unceremoniously bolted out of his seat. I also flinched in surprise, not seeing this coming. Titania and I didn’t foresee that hed notice and react like this.
The maids that he’s confronting, on the other hand, have all gone frozen still. Everyone in the dining hall was caught off guard by hus outburst. As the alpha unleashed his fury, the entire room fell dead silent.
I did not do anything. Titania turned to give me an intent glare, expecting me to stop Jaiden. But I did not
I stayed silent as I took one last sip from a glass of water, expression cold and indifferent, hardly bothered by this turn of events. Though I didn’t plan to cause a cominotion, I was left with no choice but to deal with it as I uw fit
I won’t blame Jaiden for going off course and causing a racket, of course. He was only doing this for my sake. It was Titania’s idea to make a fool out of me like this, to start with.
“Take me to your chirl! You dare serve such a thing to your 1 una?!” Jaiden exclaimed with his canines bared, frightening the nutids. “Just what kind of household would do this!TM
“What is going on, Mr. Ashwood?” Titamta asked with feigned confusion, standing up in an attempt to hold their guest back. “Please, calm down. What might be the problem?”

“I handle it” I smiled at her in reassurance. She eyed me with suspicion. “There’s just a problem with what has been served to me, but don’t worry. I’ll take care of it.”
Take care of it? How? You can’t just do anything you want, alright? You do know that I’m the one in charge right now-”
“You’re not the one who did it, aren’t you!” I asked her, still smiling. She went stiff, yet still, she dared respond, “Of course not! I don’t even know what happened“”
“Then, what’s the matter? Em just going to confront those who did this. Why would I still trouble my dear aunt–in–law over it?“:

“I let you know afterwards, then. What’s the problem with that?”
I was beginning to run out of patience. It’s not like I was demanding to talk with the manager like some entitled customer; in the first place, I was the real manager here–not Titania nor anyone else. This was between me and the people who wronged me.
“Don’t worry. You’ll also be dealt with soon enough I spared Titania one last look before trailing after Jaiden who had already gone off th confront the chef. For now, let’s clean up the other smaller filth of this household.
Before I knew it, Jaitlen had flipped the whole kitchen upside down.
The maids from the dining hall earlier, as well as the cooks who’re in charge of our meals, were present in the scene. Just from watching at the side, I could already tell that everyone was in it. Some of the attendants didn’t seem to mind too much, thinking they’d be saved, while others were unnerved.
“Now, please explain what you’ve served on Luna Silvermoon’s plate,” Jaiden demanded.
Like what I was expecting, nobody stepped up and admitted anything. Of course, that’s what would happen. Time and again. I was faced with an entire household set on making my life more miserable.
Is it because Chrysander doesn’t care about me Or Titania supporting them?‘ I contemplated as she continued to watch the commotion from the side. Or maybe they’re testing me to see if I’m fit to be their Luna or something? Hah. Yeah, right. How foolish
No matter what their reason was, I was not planning to let them keep doing whatever they pleased with me. Rhea had learned her lesson, and I would be sure to teach the same thing. They may still be strangers to me at this point in time, but there stood the fact that 1 held one of the highest positions in this pack
“That said, I’m not going to tolerate this kind of behavior in my domalo. Trying to get along with the gammas would only be a waste of time, especially since Titania had been manipulating them and I was despised by the park for years. Besides, why must I be the one to adjust? And why wait to take action? Because someone else is in charge? Letting this attitude of theirs persist might only lead me to food
I pondered what to do. Meanwhile, Jaiden was still arguing with the head chef. It would soon be my turn.
If they don’t want to do their work properly, then they don’t have to work at all!
The entire kitchen was in chaos by then. Still, no one was admitting their wrongdoings.
Just as I had seen coming, they just let Jaiden’s complaints fall on deaf ears, and now, it appeared like he was throwing a fit for no good

“We’ve got no idea what you’re talking about, Mr. Ashwood. All the meals we’ve served are always of fine quality. Not even Alpha Salvernoon has ever complained about it, the head chef explained in a firm, condescending tone while the others snickered to themselves, which made Jaiden flare up even more.
I waited unul the kitchen was fully packed before I finally joined the scene. The more, the merrier, after all. Everyone had to be here for the announcement that I was about to make
And so, with a confident side, I stepped in at last
“Clause two of the Power of Attorney presented to us by the family Lawyer, who is also the executor of the former Alpha and Luna Silvermoon’s Last Will and Testament, has clearly stated.” I began, pretensling to recite a legal ruling. We bequeath all of our assets to the current Alpha and Luna Silvennoon. All the rest, residue, and remander of our estate both real and personal, including but not limited to all hogarhold goods; land, jewelry, clothing, and any other items of peponal property, of whatsoever nature and wheresoever situate, we give devise, and bequeath absolutely to them”
