Chapter 14
Everyone was too stumped to say a t
a thing.
It seemed to me that they didn’t get what I was trying to get at for the first few seconds. But they knew that I was narrating a particular passage in some written authorization–which I completely fabricated, by the way. I emphasized the power that my words held by standing firm and tall before them all
“To put it simply, everything around you belongs to me, the Luna,” I continued, voice stern and steely. “The things you used to cook my food, the floor your feet are stepping onto, the roof and ceiling above you, this whole estate overall–these are all legally mine, and so are the funds allotted for your salaries, which I believe are one of the highest out there, is that right?”
The head chef stiffened, his eyes wide in both surprise and enlightenment. Still, I could see that he’s not totally fazed yet. There’s still a trace of mockery in the gamma’s incredulous expression.
Just what could you do even if you have the legal ownership? was probably what he’s thinking now, and it’s not just him. They all believed that I didn’t know a single thing about managing a household as huge as the Silvermoon’s “You’re right, Madam. You do own everything here. We’re not saying otherwise,” he began again, speaking as though I was a child throwing a tantrum,
“We’re just saying that we don’t have any idea about what you’re complaining, the head chef scoffed, obviously messing around with me. “We really did nothing wrong
“Still
with that, huh? Alright, then. Fine. Thank you for your time.” I replied curtly and then crossed my arms. “Now, please pack up your stuff, head chef. You’re fired”
Everyone was shocked to hear my order. They all looked as though they had been struck by lightning.
Jaiden didn’t see that one coming either.
He’d probably only let me talk since he thought I’d just further defend herself. But what he didn’t know was that I was angrier than I let

what are you saying?” the head chef snorted, though it came out halfhearted. “You can’t just decide things on your own-
“Why? I am the Luna, aren’t I?” I snorted back, giving the gamma a death stare. “Didn’t you hear what I said? I own everything here, which means I’m the one who pays for your wages. You think my aunt–in–law is spending a single penny on you? No, she doesn’t She’s not spending anything on you lot. I’m the one who’s got the money here, so I’m the one who decides if you’re staying or not
That’s right.
I may not have the power that Chrysander, Titania, or even Rhea had on them. But I still had the power of money, which I imagined. and the law, which I made up.
They may be thinking right now that I was making decisions impetuously and that I didn’t even know anything about managing a household. But if I just fired them right here and now, then they didn’t have to think about such things anymore.
The head chef stared at me in disbelief, now taking me seriously. “P–Please, don’t play around, L–Luna Silvermoon.”
“Oh, you think I’ll play around like you? If you want to work for my aunt–in–law, why not go to her place? I taunted, indifferent to his inner turmoil. “Now, go on. If you’re still not out in ten minutes, I’ll call the betas to drag you out
“Wait, n–no! Luna Silvermoon!” the gamma cried out, but I had already finished my business and was done talking here.
With that out of the way, I turned to the maids who served me the cutlery and desserts earlier in the dining hall. They’re cowering in fear at the corner of the kitchen, afraid of losing their jobs like the head chef.
‘Hmph! Acting all scared and pitiful in front of me is not going to cut it‘
Not one of them had even apologized yet. Even now, they appeared to have no plan of doing so.
Human. Well, letting them leave just like that is no fun. I’ll make them work a lot harder from now on. Perhaps, cleaning the whole mansion by themselves will do? So, for now, let’s pretend that I’m going to forgive them. I contemplated as I continued glaring at them. Then, fire them at once the moment they think they’ve gotten away with what they did!”
I would definitely wipe away all the filth in this house. Lande by little, one at a time. This was the day my revenge would begin in earnest.
For me, and for my twenty–four–year–old self

In the meantime, I’d think of ways to use them to my advantage. Of course, I would not be able to get them on my too late for that. But for as long as I had this position, I could always kick them out of the mansion.
“So then, everyone, do your work properly from now on, okay-?” I announced to all the house attendants present while faking an innocent, gullible smile. “Either that or don’t work at all.”
Having that settled, I turned around and took my leave with Jaiden in tow,
Completely satished by the thunderstruck silence that had filled the kitchen, he shot one last glare to the head chef, threatening him and everyone else. It served them right. All that we wanted here was for them to admit their misdeeds and apologize, but because their core was rotten from the first get–go, it had come to this.
“How did those people pass the interview and get their jobs in the first place? Is being rude to their Luna a part of the Silvermoon’s qualifications for their employees Jaiden mused out loud, earning a giggle from me. “Well, who knows? Perhaps, the ones who took them in are just not that different?”
“Still you sure surprised me back there.”
“I told you I could handle them, didn’t I?”
As we were about to turn into a corner on our way back to the dining hall, we almost crashed into someone. A loud screech filled our kars, and Jaiden immediately stood before me on guard, When we looked down at the floor, where boxes full of table cloth had scatterred around, we found a familiar face.
“Oh, it’s you.”
