Chapter 15
“Rhea!”
*L–L–Luna Silvermoon.. the head maid stammered out, all tense and nervous. “A–And Mr. A–A–Ashwood…”
“What are you doing?”
After what happened during Jaiden’s last visit, Rhea was trying really hard to steered clear of my way.
She was still very much frightened by the alpha up to this day. Anyone would probably be. He had made sure that the gamma would not work anywhere near me again.
“I–I’m cleaning up, Madam T–These are from the party y–yesterday…”
“Oh, I see! It was cancelled, I was told.” I eyed the boxes for a moment. “You know what? I think it’ll be such a waste to put them away jus like that. Are there still more?”
“U–Um, yes, but.. S–Should we not clean up after all, Madam”
heard that Titania ended the party much earlier than intended. She’d blamed it all on me, of course, saying I made too big of a commotion for it to keep going. It seemed to me that Titania had overreacted, though
‘In truth, she doesn’t want any more of the guests to find me acting all wild and crazy,’ I mused. “Which I wasn’t, of course. I was only having my own party, and it was just different from theirs.
Looking back to Rhea, and then to Jaiden, 1 pondered what I’d be doing for the rest of the day, then came up with a brilliant idea.
CHRYSANDER’S POV
Since my schedule for the whole week had been pushed back due to Vivienne’s kidnapping incident and the investigation, I ended up returning home from my business trip much later than planned.
It was a little bit past midnight, and only a few house attendants, aside from the security guards, were still awake. What greeted me as I entered the mansion was the forlorn silence in a dim, soulless hallway.
Only the sound of my footsteps kept me company as I strode further inside the house. No one would welcome me, nor would there be anything here other than dull and gloomy. But it’s something that I had long gotten used to.
The solitude and lifelessness of an excessively luxurious place—I have been seeing it over and over again since I was still a child.
I had lived this way all my life. Ever since I got married, however, there’s one certain person who would wait for me to come home every time—one who would eagerly and patiently look forward to my arrival. My mate had never failed to welcome me back with a smile.
“I’d like to do it at the entrance, to be honest, if the lights in the hallway are still on, but.. Vivienne had once told me, but I recalled cutting her off before she could explain herself further.
I had turned down the idea and reasoned that she was just wasting her time. Even then, she still did it. She would even prepare a late dinner or midnight snacks from time to time.
Ever since her first night at the hospital, for some reason, this kind of thought would always fill my head, and I couldn’t help but notice the lack of warmth in my home.
At first, I thought that I was already so used to the emptiness and silence that I would just straight up ignore it. But the whole time Vivienne was gone, I found myself thinking about it all the time. It’s as if I had gotten used to her presence as well, and that caused me to pay more attention to my surroundings.
As I made my way to our bedroom, I expected that I would, for once, see some life and colors in this place–at long last, after all those nights of coming back to a cokl, quiet home.
But after opening the door, I found no one there. “Vivienne?” I called out, taken aback by her absence.
She was not supposed to be moving around too much since she still had not fully recovered from her injuries. Her doctor did advise me about this when I last find a talk with him.
Vivienne, where are you?” I searched around the balcony, bathroom, both of our walk–in closets, and just about every nook and cranny

Since meeting her fifteen–year–old self, I had been trying so hard to resist my tendencies to get so worked up. There’s no look after her every day, nor did I want to change how we’d been treating each other.

But after jaiden told me about her latest escapades, I began to worry. It started with just that mere concern. Then again, with Vivienne’s reckless attitude, that was inevitable.
But I refused to get too worked up, to spend a bigger portion of my time on her than I used to before. I did not want to care as long as she wouldn’t do anything out of my control, anything that could damage the name of the Silvermoon pack. Yet, for some reason. I found myself thinking about her before I knew it.
Unlike the past Vivienne, who was so behaved, complaisant, obedient, and easy to talk sense to, the present Vivienne reeked of nothing but troublesome news; she’s just too impulsive and carefree.
With that in mind, I continued searching all around the mansion.
I looked around from one place to another, hall after hall At first, I was just walking like normal. But a moment later, I found myself running. I felt like speeding up, unable to stay calm
This was what I meant by my tendencies to get all worked up–I was not in my usual cool
“Where in the world did she go?” I grumbled under my breath, already getting frustrated after minutes of searching. “She couldn’t be outside, could she?”
That’s when I heard something from the window, all the way out into the courtyard. I picked up on a faint beating sound, the subtleties of people chattering, a confusing noise overall. With a balled look on my face, I started to walk in its direction.
“What in the name of…!?
The closer I got there, the clearer it became to me. Soon enough, what’s happening outside fully came into view. The lights were on, the sound system was running, and there were people chatting
Then, as I took a peek through one of the glass windows, I finally figured out what kind of madness was taking place–the garden party my aunt prepared had now become a karaoke bar.
“Let’s partyyyy!
I paused in surprise, the spun into the direction of the person speaking on the microphone. At the scene that greeted me, my mouth gaped and my eyes widened. I found myself speechless, as said person on the microphone turned out to be none other than my mate. “Hey, hey, hey, hey! Put your hands up! Put your hands up!”
And she even roped in the betas and gammas in her theatrics this time.
Vivienne continued chanting as she stood on top of an elevated platform in front of a huge flat–screen monitor. All the while, the maids and menservants were singing and dancing along at the center, with drinks and snacks lying on top of the tables around them. I felt like I just entered a bar with how the booming music and their loud voices were blasting throughout the entire place.
“What is going on? I blinked several times, checking if I was only imagining things. I knew there was a party, bu
Judging by the mirthful and relaxed looks on their faces, everyone appeared to be in this. Whatever this insanity was, all of them seemed to be greatly enjoying it.
Seriously, what is thuis! At that moment, I felt like a parent who just got home to find his child going behind his back and throwing a backyard party with her friends.
I never though that I would ever see this man
manor turn into something this boisterous, loud, and cheerful–happy.
The Silvermoon pack had always been an austere and uptight household, after all. We’re always about power, wealth, and honor. The luxuries would do most of the talking ansund here–and the only thing people had to do in this place was either behold them in awe or preserve their luster.

until now, it did not have equipment of this type. The place being transformed into a karaoke bar was something I never thought I would see
Yet, strangely enough, everything looked bright and brilliant in my eyes, as though new kinds of colors had painted the mansion with just this scene alone
Even more so when I looked at my mate in the distance; she was the source of this new exhilarating sight, her smile so full of glee and vibrance it was contagious.
“Alpha Silvermoon, good evening. I see that you’ve finally arrived.”
