Chapter 17
CHRYSANDER’S POV
The subject of divorce was the least I expected to hear from
n Vivienne, much le
less severing our mate bond.
I’ve always known that she loved me–so, so much that I couldn’t even begin to imagine how deep and heavy it was. And I wasn’t just assuming things when I said that. She’d never stopped showing her affection no matter how rough things became for her nor how many times I neglected her.
Yet, at this moment, Vivienne had straight–up slapped bond severance on my face.
For once, I realized the true gravity of her amnesia. I was speechless and unmoving for what felt like an eternity. As I continued exchanging looks with her, burning emotions began to stir me up from within –
My wolf was becoming very upset.
While thrown off by how boldly she offered to break ties with me, I recalled why exactly I was holding onto this mate bond. I’ve never had a need for love, and at this age, I was not into the idea of getting an heir yet. To me, relationships were nothing but a bother, and I hated people who robbed off too much of my time at work for something so meaningless.
“Hmm? What’s with that reaction? Do you think it’s a good idea too?” Vivienne smiled, but Lcouldn’t see anything to smile about here. “We can do it as soon as you have time. You decide when, Your Majesty. I’d be more than happy to oblige-”
*SILENCE, MATE”
Her body stiffened, her face no longer smiling
Even I could tell how mad I was right now. T
her shudder in fear but try to hide it.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop, and the air around me thickened. I noticed
As far as I was concerned, this fifteen–year–old Vivienne was not one to easily show such an expression. It’s like the first time I saw her at the hospital–the first time she saw me furious. In this case, however, it seemed that Vivienne was sensing an underlying weight in my dark, hooded gaze that was diferent from then.
But it was something that I couldn’t decipher well either.
“Sever our bond? Have you lost your mind?” I hissed, then stood up from the bed and charged towards Vivienne. “Don’t get so cocky only because you lost your memories for the past few years. What made you think it’s that simple? You had no idea what I had to go through with you harassing me the whole time”
“What are you shooting your mouth off for? Quit guilt–tripping me. I’m offering a solution already, aren’t I?” she retaliated, looking both
bemused and irritated.
1 could not help but snot. “A solution? So, you really think it’s that easy? Why the heck would I not cut ties with a pest like you if I knew I could do it back then?”
Once more, Vivienne turned stiff
She didn’t know my side of the story. All she probably focused on was the reason why she’d clung to this marriage all these years, and that reason was that twenty–four–year–old Vivienne loved him. She’d loved me so much that she forced herself to fit in a world that had no place for her.
But as for my reason for keeping her in the pack, she had no idea at all.
“Why indeed?” Vivienne did not waver. “Why would you let an omega with nothing good to offer stay with you until now?”
“You wouldn’t get it,” I sneered. “But as for why you can’t just cut off a mate bond like that, I can make you understand.”
I stood right before her once more, my huge build hovering over her small figure. She glared up at me, unlike earlier, she refused to cower in fear, but that would not last for long. I narrowed my eyes, now glowing a silver color, then bared my canines.
“You have to understand.”
VIVIENNE’S POV
I couldn’t understand Chrysander at all.

Chapter 17
If someone did not need or want a person, they could just throw them out already. With this, though, things had become more complicated. It was as if the wind changed directions, now blowing the opposite way.
The possessive look on the alpha’s face was a new sight, though I doubted if he was even aware of what kind of expression he was making. So caught up in his emotions, his eyes started to glow silver, and I could see his wolf’s canines peeking through his teeth
“You belong to me, whether you remember or not,” he growled, making me shiver. “I own your heart, body, soul. You are mine, and mine alone.”
“But you rejected me! There’s not even a mark!” I cried, and he stopped breathing “Yes, I know. From the very start, you never loved me, and 1-
“YOU,” he snapped, his eyes fiery and intense. “CANNOT LEAVE ME”
I did not falter. I would not submit to him.
“But you cannot keep me from trying.” I spat at him, giving him a venomous look that I knew he never saw on me before. “What right do you have when you haven’t even marked me?”
All he could do was stare at me with an angry scowl Another moment’s silence ruled over. What happened next was something I never expected him to do.
Maybe it’s because my act of defiance had already peeved him past to the breaking point. Maybe it’s because I had already gone too far with how I kept going against his every word.
Chrysander reached up and forcefully pulled me against his chest, taking my lips with his.
Completely taken aback, I gasped against his mouth and shut my eyes closed. I could not help but recoil at the suddenness of his action Due to my lack of experience, I ended up getting helplessly dragged away against my will
Chrysander wrapped his arms around my waist, pressing me closer to him..
He then put his other hand on the back of my head, leaning in and deepening the kiss. His kisses grew more and more intense, but for some reason, I could not bring myself to push him away.
Is it because my wolf really treats him as my mate? The way his lips moved against mine was rough and ferocious, almost as though he was desperate to convey a certain emotion that even he was probably not aware of. Is it his wolf telling him the same thing?”
Even as I squirmed around, struggling to break free, I could not. All I could do at this point was grip onto his shirt. It was futile to fight back, especially when he was in such a state.
‘I suppose he is not the pack’s Alpha for nothing. I thought, frustrated. “He is so strong. Even though I trained all my life as the Redstone pack’s heiress, he is just too strong for me
Chrysander laid me on the bed and kneeled on all fours. Now on top of me, he continued to kiss me heatedly, yet still took care not to crush me. I felt so hot right now it was like I was burning from within.
I could not take this anymore. I might pass out at any given second.
No longer able to keep up, I started trembling underneath the alpha–a reaction that did not go unnoticed by him.
Chrysander finally pulled away and unlocked our lips, letting both of ourselves get some air. He reached out a tender hand to cup my flushed face before caressing it softly, his half–lidded eyes glistening. I flinched away at the gesture, still too sensitive from Chrysander’s kisses.
“See?” he whispered in a deep, baritone voice, still breathless. “Your wolf knows. Your body still reacted the same way as when you’re
Then came the Redstone pack’s signature boxer–puncher that had the Silvermoon’s Alpha flying in the air before crashing with a kid. heavy thud to the floor.
1 shot him a menacing glare as he groaned in pain. “I dare you to touch me like that again, and I’ll make sure to crush your pretty face then.” I taunted him before wiping my mouth in disgust.
I might as well dampen everyone’s morning with my sulking face,
We had just woken up and gone to the dining hall for breakfast. There, I

of us looked as though we didn’t get a wink’s sleep last night
Strangely enough, Chrysander decided to join me for breakfast this time even though the maids told me yesterday that he was so workaholic hed go straight to his office and just eat his meals there.
It’s not like I didn’t want him to have breakfast in his own home. But right now, I just couldn’t bear being close to him for even a minute.
I averted my gaze as I spoke, “I’ll go and eat in bed.”
“No, you’ll make a mess there,” he cut me off before taking a sip from his coffee.
I grumbled under my breath. Then, I’ll just make this quick.”
I hurriedly started digging in as if I’d been starved for days. Table etiquette be damned. I ate messily in hopes of finishing before I lost all my appetite
As I drank my coffee with a loud, sloppy, sucking sound, which I admitted I was doing on purpose to annoy Chrysander, I caught something from the corner of my eyes.
He seemed to have gone mentally sidetracked. I noticed his eyes straying to my wet, plump lips as I kept sipping from my coffee mug. but I just ignored him in favor of enjoying my breakfast. My eyes narrowed as I savored the warmth.
When I bit a piece of bread, I found him still watching. Again, I paid him no mind. But as I licked my lower lip, I heard him choke out loud.
And to my surprise, when I looked at Chrysander again, his face was crimson red.
