Breakfast that morning had been a strange affair, to say the least.
Chrysander suddenly rushed out of the dining room when he saw my bewildered reaction to his blushing face. I never thought I would see the day he’d get flustered. Jervis and Rhea witnessed that exact moment and were also seemed greatly weirded out by it.
“Did you put something spicy in his food?” I asked them, but they only gave me a meaningful look.
As I now walked down the hallway, I passed by a window that showed a clear view of the entrance gate. There, I found the security guards trying to stop an ongoing commotion. To my surprise, I saw someone I never expected seeing in that kind of situation.

My bodyguard was together with an unfamiliar looking woman with reddish–orange hair and olive–green eyes. She appeared to be making a fuss about something, keeping him from entering. I went outside the mansion and asked one of the maids in the audience what was going on.
“Oh. Madam, good morning,” she greeted me first, which surprised me a little since that was the first time I received a greeting from any of them. “Apparently, that lady with Mr. Ashwood claims that she has been pursuing him for so long but has never been given a chance.”
“Why did you follow me here! I’ve already turned down your confession, Ms. Patricia. What is it that you still want me to do?”
“I refuse to accept your rejection, Alpha Jaident Just give me a chance, and I will prove to you that I can be a good mate!”

Hearing the drama that was going on, I walked closer to the entrance gate and joined the crowd that had gathered there.
Even as Jaiden insisted the opposite, with him looking so debonair in his work attire, he would still perfectly fit the boyfriend image. So far, what I could gather from here was that he did not want anything to do with this Patricia, yet she kept forcing herself on him.

She seemed to be too angry to care about the audience. It did not help that her self–proclaimed partner was bring ogled by the maids. They looked charmed as he kept making that smirking face.
“Seriously, what’s gotten into him?”
Jaiden was more than attractive enough. There’s no need for him to go through the trouble of charming these women. He could even rival Chrysander in that aspect.
“Alpha!” Patricia called out angrily, snapping him out of his daze

But even when Patricia practically dragged Jaiden away, everyone’s attention stayed attached to them.
What’s funny was that he had no idea what’s happening around him. Not to mention, his perplexed reaction to her vexed response was quite entertaining to witness.
Although I do feel bad for you, Jay, I don’t know what exactly I’m supposed to do. I’ll just talk with you later. For now, do your best to survive out there, I mused as I watched Jaiden and Patricia take their conversation somewhere else.
“What a sly guy you are, Alpha! I can’t even tear my eyes off of you for a second!” Patricia complained, exasperated.
“I was doing nothing. That aside, you really have to go now, Ms. Patricia,” Jaiden said with a frustrated sigh.
“You were doing nothing? Why are they staring at you like that, then?”
“Who’s staring at who now? Seriously, what are you even talking about?”
This heated exchange would probably go on for a while Jaiden was putting up a good fight, though. I trusted that he could handle it by himself.
