Chapter 19
Later that evening. Jaiden, who refused to talk about Patricia the whole day, opened up the topic at last.
Orbs of light from the lamp posts pierced through the darkness around us. A blanket of stars curtained the night sky above, glowing warmly amid the biting cold from the blowing wind.
“So, then, what’s that all about? I started, going straight to the point.
“I apologize for the trouble.” Jaiden said. “But I may need to ask for your help.”
I smiled and gave a nod. Thought so. How may I help you?”
“Wait, you will? Just like that?”
“You’ve done a lot for me. Of course, I will. Let me help”
“Well, in that case, I would like to ask you to be my partner in crime.
“Oh! That sounds fun-”
“Be my girlfriend, Vivi.”
My eyes widened, and 1 gaped at Jaiden.
1 may have just misheard it, but as far as I knew, I had no hearing problems. We were also the only ones out here right now, so that could not possibly come from another person.
“Sorry, what?” 1 blinked at him.
He gave me a smile. “He my girlfriend”
Surely, there were other ways to get around this situation. I was good with finding solutions to problems. This one at hand was not even the worst I had seen. However, after hearing the whole story, I realized he was already more than set to see through this plan.
“You see, the pack has been urging me to claim a mate for some time now. One of the elders wanted Ms. Patricia, the daughter of the alpha of a pack close to ours, to fill in that position while I am yet to find my fated mate. Before I knew it, they set up a meeting for us this morning, and I found out that she’s actually in love with me. Jaiden explained to me before we parted ways.
For my part in this plan, he told me that he’d just explain it once we met up again. With that, it seemed I’d be spending this day to help. him out with the scheme he came up with
Let’s be professional about this, okay? Jay knows I’m married, so it’s probably not as bad as I think,” I told myself as I made my way down to meet up with Jaiden. ‘Besides, all he’s been doing since I met him is help me out. I should return the favor somehow, Also, he’s the only friend I have here.
Whatever this would be, it would only be an act. There was nothing to be afraid of
All I needed to do was convince Patricia that Jaiden was already in a relationship.
I found Jaiden enjoying a cup of coffee at the parlor. He greeted me with a smile, and I momentarily thought he looked more handsome today, if that was even possible. I greeted Jaiden back as I took the seat across from him.
But a girlfriend, huh? I don’t know a thing about being someone’s lover. My present relationship is definitely not a good example, 1 thought with a grimace: ‘Hui perlups, if I just do what he says, I can pull it off somehow
“If you’re worried about this blowing up into a scandal, please rest assured,” Jaide spoke suddenly. “I swear I won’t let that happen All I need is someone to act as my partner. You don’t even have to show your face.”
“So then, do I wear a disguise?”
“Yes, please That would be for the best.”
“Where will we do this, anyway?”
“Are you free to go out now! Let’s go there together”
How glad I was to agree!

Chapter 19
For the first time in forever, I was going to get out of Chrysander’s mansion. This was the best day ever! And with my bodyguarel around, there was nothing for the Silvermoon pack to worry about.
“Oh, thank you so much, Jay!” I could cry right now.
He let out a laugh. “I should be the one to say that. Vivi”
Jasden drove his car down the city for almost half an hour, then we finally arrived at a park. For today, he was wearing a casual attire instead of his work uniform. Jaiden looked every bit of an eye candy in a leather jacket and black cap, him just stepping out of the car already drew attention to himself.
“Talk about drop–dead gorgeous. I took a step away from Jaiden while we walked side by side, not wanting to be seen together with him. “No wonder the maids fell for him the moment he stepped foot into the mansion”
Still, I found myself thinking that Jaiden was both fortunate and unfortunate. He may have the looks that hooked, but she wondered if always being the center of attention ever tired him out, especially when he did not even want it. In Chrysander’s case, I believed he could handle a crowd because he had his cold and stoic nature to balance it with.
“Huh! Vivi?” Jaiden blurted out when he noticed me getting further and further away, probably confused as to why I was distancing myself all of a sudden as we continued walking, “Why are you over there?”
It’s because I did not really want to join him in the spotlight. But now that he had called out to me.
e in the open while all these people were staring, he might as well have shed a spotlight on me too. The way he stared at me as if I was the only one he could see did not help either.
I’m not poorly dressed for the occasion, am ]?”
I was in casual clothes today as well a long red skirt and frilly white blouse. As per his request to wear something on my head, I brought a yellow sun hat I found in my closet.
“Anyway, thank you for coming with me today.” Jaiden stared at me before suddenly averting his gaze, cheeks slightly flushed. “Is it alright to borrow you until noon?
