Chapter 7
I froze for a moment. Her words felt absurd in my head.
“What?” I asked flatly. Then I chuckled. “You agree to help?”
But my mind immediately caught up. The pieces of information came together in one bittel conclusion.
‘Oh, no wonder. You do need Ironshade to boost your pack’s reputation.”
He took a step forward. Closing the distance. He stepped closer. I had to look up at him. rapped. Unable to refuse.
‘Who said I wanted Ironshade’s help as payment?”
What do you mean?”
.iam smirked. His face was unreadable, but there was something in his gaze I didn’t like Cunning. Too calm for a man dealing with revenge.
There’s one thing I want from you.”
pushed his body gently, keeping my distance.
Get to the point. If it’s about money, I can pay handsomely,” I said impatiently.
He shook his head. Lightly. As if offering a cup of afternoon tea.
Just one day… a date with you.”
fell silent. My eyes widened.
What?”
Yes. A one-day date. That’s all.”
“hat’s all? My mind refused to believe it. I stared deeply into his face, searching for signs tha his was a joke.
But no. His expression was serious. He even seemed to be enjoying my surprise.
A date? With me?” I repeated stiffly.
Liam nodded. Casually. Too casually.
‘Wow.” I laughed hollowly. “Do you like me? I thought an Alpha like you was surrounded by beautiful women.”
‘I do have them,” he said arrogantly, then chuckled. “So don’t get too confident. This isn’t abou liking. And you’re interpreting the word ‘date’ too quickly.”
I furrowed my brow.
My breath caught. “What date? Of course…” I felt like I’d lost my words. Wasn’t I right? He said a one-day date. That meant dating, right?
“I have a purpose for that date. It’s just to remember our childhood.” Liam’s voice sounded mocking. “Were you thinking of something else?”
I nearly died on the spot. My face felt like it was on fire. My breath caught in my throat. He was so cunning, toying with me. “I didn’t-I just-”
“Your face is red. Embarrassing, isn’t it, to have such thoughts?”
“Alpha Liam, stop.” I clenched my teeth. “Don’t play games with me. I didn’t come here for this. I want Samuel’s destruction. Focus on that.”
I tried to be firm. I wanted to bury the shame deep inside because he was too blunt in mocking me. He was the one who had set the trap for me.
“Alright.” He chuckled, then nodded. “Straight to the point, huh? That grudge… you want to destroy it from within. Slowly, precisely.”
I fell silent. He read my mind accurately. I had to admit he was smart.
“If
you
wanted to attack directly, you would’ve gone to your own father. But you didn’t. You wan the pain to linger.”
nodded slowly. His eyes were piercingly sharp. There was nothing I could hide.
‘So, what now?” I asked. “Do you have information about the Silver Moon gang’s underhandec
nethods?”
Of course,” he replied. “Plenty. They have a dark history you wouldn’t believe. I’ll gather it all Then, on the night of the ceremony… we’ll strike.”
Attack?”
Alpha Liam nodded. “I’ll gather the detailed information, then we’ll go together to watch Samuel’s downfall. That’s the first step.”
What?” I was shocked. “Go together? What’s your plan?”
It’ll be awesome, of course. We’ll come in disguise and present all the evidence of Samuel’s etrayal in front of the other pack. On the night he thinks he’ll be crowned.”
My heart was racing.
The plan was too perfect. Too tempting to refuse. Where I’d witness Samuel’s slow downfall, his hame, his disappointment at thinking victory was within reach.
Good idea. Just send all the evidence to me, I’ll-”
I’ll handle the execution.” Liam cut in. “You just get ready. I’ll make sure everything’s safe.” was a bit hesitant, to be honest. Does he really want to help me? Why is he being so nice, just or a silly one-day date? I hope he can be trusted.
But I can really do it myself.” I stared at him intently. “And why do you want to do this?”
He chuckled. He leaned closer to me. Then his gaze swept over my body from head to toe. ‘Because you look pitiful. You should rest. You look like an exhausted wreck. Your hair is messy, your clothes… not the look of a Princess Ironshade. Your vengeance is burning, but your body is nearly collapsing.”
wanted to argue, but my own body betrayed me. My legs were weak. My shoulders felt heavy. I almost forgot that fact. Shame washed over me again, spreading quickly. Because of the burning vengeance, I almost forgot everything.
“I can-”
เพ
“No. You must rest.” His voice turned cold. “I’ll handle the rest while you’re being treated. I’ll gather the information, and we’ll depart tomorrow night.”
Then, without waiting for my consent, he gave a signal. Two guards appeared. They took me to the healing room, and though I wanted to be angry, I was too tired to resist.
The night passed. When morning came, I woke up feeling refreshed. But my resentment remained. It hadn’t diminished one bit.
“Princess Helena?”
I turned. Thorne stood in the doorway. His face was calmer than yesterday. “How do now?”

“Better.” I rose slowly. “The healer was amazing. They were very kind. Thorne, what about his revenge plan? Do you know about it?”
Thorne smiled faintly. “Alpha Liam is also great. He asked for an explanation about your issue with Samuel… and I gave him all the details.”
‘Good.” I took a breath. “Did he say anything else? You also know about his revenge plan, right?”
He nodded. His odd smile reappeared. “But I also picked up on something else from his conversation.”
My eyebrows furrowed. “What?”
‘I think he likes you.”
Helena
I fell silent. My whole body felt tense.
