Chapter 9

Helena

A large screen lit up behind the stage. It displayed one recording after another-fake agreement documents, threatening letters to the small pack, evidence of sabotage of winter supplies, and even Samuel’s own voice recording:

“They think our help is sincere? Stupid. Let them starve first, then come crawling back.”

“Are you really sure about doing this?” asked the wolf, looking frightened.

“Of course I’m sure. By helping the small pack, our pack’s reputation will improve in the eyes o the large pack,” Samuel said again.

The crowd roared.

Samuel glared. And I enjoyed his confused and panicked expression, searching for who ha done this. Destroying his reputation so easily. He had tried so hard to cover everything up Almost perfectly.

“Who dared to do this? It’s all slander!” Samuel said frantically.

Alpha Varran of Frostveil stood up. “Slander? I think it’s all true. Our pack lost fifteen cubs durin the storm. And now we know… that the aid was deliberately withheld.”

Alpha Mireya of Hollow Fang stepped forward. “We were accused of rebellion, but it wa: provocation from Samuel. Our pack was nearly destroyed because of his schemes!”

Liora’s face paled. Her eyes didn’t leave the screen, which had revealed the dark side of the Silve Moon pack.

Elder Elira gaped, her body trembling in her seat. “This… can’t be…”

Samuel shouted, “TURN OFF THE SCREEN! IT’S ALL A LIE!”

But no one moved. Even Beta Kaylen didn’t defend him. He remained silent, his jaw clenched, hi eyes fixed on the ground.

One by one, the pack began to leave the ceremony. Some turned their honor symbols upside down. Others stood stiffly with disappointed expressions.

Among the restless crowd, Alpha Liam and I stood silently.

No words came from him. Just a faint smile. Showing satisfaction.

I was certainly more satisfied. Alpha Liam’s plan was truly intriguing. Satisfying. He used the same method as when Samuel humiliated me.

I must admit, Alpha Liam is clever.

Samuel still stood frozen on the stage-Alpha’s robe still on his shoulders, but his honor stripped away before the world.

And I just smiled cynically.

Finally. The whole world knew who was truly worthy of being called a traitor.

Alpha Liam pulled my hand, quickly leaving the area.

“Your satisfied expression is suspicious. That’s why I’m taking you away,” Liam said.

I laughed once we were far enough away. We were picked up by the Darkvenom pack.

‘You haven’t stopped smiling. How does it feel now?”

I looked at Alpha Liam sincerely. “Thank you. I have to give you credit; that was pretty cool.”

He chuckled. “More accurately, it was perfectly suited to what you experienced. What he did to

you.”

couldn’t deny it. I nodded. Everything was true. Liam had truly succeeded in giving me a sense of satisfaction. He had done it deliberately and neatly.

How did you know everything? I think Samuel must have hidden everything neatly from all the volves. Even I, who was closest to him, wasn’t aware of his cunning.”

He shrugged indifferently. “It was easy for me,” he said confidently.

You know, Alpha Liam? I feel very lucky to have let him go now. Turns out he was a wicked wolf was genuinely shocked when you presented the evidence.”

Yeah, I’m not surprised by that. That’s why I thought you were such a pitiful mate back then ecause your partner was Samuel. I just didn’t feel like getting involved at the time.”

was speechless. I stayed silent for a few seconds, thinking about my past foolishness.

iam spoke again, “After hearing everything from Thorne, it’s still not enough. Samuel deserves

vorse.”

My emotions flared up again. After feeling completely relieved earlier.

You’re right, Alpha Liam. Who said it would end there? I’ll do it gradually and soon!”

Of course, I’ll help,” said Alpha Liam.

Just for a date?” I chuckled. “You’re an odd Alpha.”

le didn’t respond. And I had no intention of speaking again. I just focused on the road, my minc illed with various thoughts.

Samuel’s pitiful and despairing face flashed before me. He had already experienced deep lestruction. But that wasn’t enough to satisfy me. There was still Liora, Elder Elira, and Beta Kaylen who had to feel my pain. Even the Silver Moon pack had to be destroyed immediately! Upon arriving at the Darkvenom pack, Thorne greeted me immediately. Full of questions and ension. And when I gave him a wide smile, he immediately relaxed. As if the entire burden had been lifted from his chest.

‘You succeeded.” he murmured.

I nodded, then hugged Thorne without saying a word. The hug wasn’t out of weakness, not because I needed support-but because I knew he was the only one who had witnessed my wounds from the beginning. And tonight, we could finally breathe a little.

“How did they react?” Thorne asked again.

I released the embrace and answered in a low, triumphant voice, “They’re shattered. Just like I

was.”

Alpha Liam interjected casually, “But the difference is, you rose. They won’t be that strong.”

I looked at Liam, then Thorne. Both were by my side now-standing as allies, not saviors.

Because I no longer needed to be saved.

“What’s the next plan?” Thorne asked, his voice brimming with anticipation.

I smiled coldly.

“Now it’s time to disrupt the system within the Silver Moon pack. No need to rush. We’ll tear them apart slowly. One by one.”

“And you’ll be the trigger?” Liam asked softly.

I stared at the dim yet soothing starlight in the sky of Darkvenom.

“No. I’ll be the storm they never thought would come back.”

Samuel
