Chapter 164 Lucy Kisses Daniel And Angered Turner
When Turner asked if she was after him, Lucy couldn’t help but feel her heart flutter.
She hadn’t spent much time with Turner, but there was no denying the attraction she felt toward him. His mix of sophistication and subtle rebellion was exactly the kind of charm she found impossible to resist.
Sancho University was full of good–looking guys, but none of them caught her eye, except Turner. She still remembered the night she first saw him at the bar. It only took one glance for her to decide to use herself as bait to allure him.
But when she later found out he was into men, she had no choice but to let him go, even though it broke her heart
Lucy gently placed a bank card in Turner’s hand and said, “Relax, I’m not after you, and I’ll keep what happened between us to myself.”
After a brief pause, she added, “And please, don’t tell my mom or Camila, especially Camila. She’s not in great health, and I don’t want her worrying about me.”
Lucy lifted her gaze, locking eyes with Turner. His eyes gleamed like starlight, and the sharp lines of his brows gave him an air of quiet intensity.
The longer she looked, the more flustered she was. Unable to bear the intensity, she turned her face away, stood up, and prepared to leave.
Suddenly, Turner reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Lucy was forced to stop in her tracks, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
“Are you in trouble? If you are, you can tell me. For Hazel and Ms. Jackson’s sake, I’ll help you out,” he said.
He tilted his head slightly as he spoke, his long, elegant neck drawing the eye. The subtle moverment of his Adam’s apple as he talked added an effortless allure.
Lucy’s gaze darkened slightly as she took in the sight. She fought to suppress the emotions within her, thinking, ‘No matter how good–looking he is, he’s still gay. I’m that desperate.’
With a scoff, Lucy yanked her hand free from his grip. “What kind of trouble could I possibly have? You should worry about yourself first. My business is none of your concern,” she retorted sharply.
Her abrupt shift in demeanor caught Turner off guard.
Just moments ago, she had been as docile as a kitten, and now, in the blink of an eye, she was baring her claws at him. Oddly enough, Turner found this side of her even more intriguing.
Turner stood up, his tall and imposing figure casting a shadow that completely enveloped Lucy.
Lucy disliked the overwhelming sense of pressure and instinctively took a step back.
But as if deliberately teasing her, Turner closed the distance with every step she retreated. “What are you afraid of?” he asked, his voice low and teasing.
“I’m not avoiding you. I just don’t like being too close,” Lucy replied.
Turner sneered. “Not too close, huh? Funny because I distinctly remember how tightly you clung to that guy’s waist back in Eastville.”
His words carried a sharp edge of jealousy, leaving Lucy stunned. She stared at him in disbelief, and for a brief moment, their eyes met. In Turner’s gaze, she thought she caught a flicker of accusation.
But she quickly shook off the thought. She thought she must have been imagining things. Turner didn’t like her. There was no way that he would care about her holding onto another man. “That’s none of your business.”
“None of my business? Don’t forget I saved you the first time we met, and the second time, I almost slept with you. And now you’re just tossing me aside, huh?” Turner said.
He closed in on her, step by step, until Lucy’s back was pressed against the wall.
‘What’s gotten into him?‘ Lucy thought. If she didn’t know he was into men, she might’ve wondered if he had feelings for her.
Lucy was rarely caught off guard. Back at school, no one could ever make her feel this way.
But now, standing face to face with Turner, she was completely at a loss. Just as her mind raced for a way out; a sudden, urgent knock on the door broke the tension.

The loud banging on the door reverberated thru the there? Did that bastard hurt you? Open the door!”
Hearing Daniel’s voice, Lucy shoved Turner aside in a panic and rushed to open the door.
Daniel stood outside, his face tight with worry. When he saw Lucy, he grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room,

examining her from head to toe. “Lucy, are you okay? Did he do anything to you?” he asked with concern
“I’m fine. Let’s go,” Lucy said quickly, grabbing Daniel’s hand and trying to leave.
Turner’s cold voice rang out from behind. “Lucy”
Lucy’s heart skipped a beat. A pang of guilt tugged at her, but she pushed it aside, forcing herself to keep walking as if the hadn’t heard him.
Before she could take another step, Turner grabbed her wrist. “A top graduate from Sancho University of Science and Technology, reduced to hanging around with someone like him? Really, Lucy?”
Daniel bristled at the insult, stepping forward with a glare. “Someone like me? What’s that supposed to mean? I’m Lucy’s boyfriend. Whatever’s between us is none of your business!”
Turner’s sharp gaze shifted to Lucy. “He’s your boyfriend?”
Lucy hesitated, her mind racing. After a brief pause, she nodded. “Yes, he’s my boyfriend. Now let go of me.”
Instead of letting go, Turner tightened his grip, a mocking smile curling on his lips. “Your boyfriend, huh? Then why did you come crying to me when he had you pouring drinks for him?”
“That’s not your concern,” Lucy snapped, yanking her hand free with all her strength.
“Lucy.” Turner said coldly.
Lucy took a deep breath, as if she made up her mind. “You don’t believe me? Fine, I’ll prove it to you.”
Without warning, she grabbed Daniel by the collar. Her heart pounded as she stood on her tiptoes. She leaned in close, their faces mere inches apart.
Daniel’s eyes widened in shock, his body stiffening as he froze on the spot. He was completely caught off guard.
From Turner’s angle, it looked as though Lucy had kissed Daniel. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned
white.
Lucy stepped back, her expression calm as she turned to face Turner. “Now do you believe me?” she asked. Turner’s face darkened instantly. His jaw tightened as he glared at her with fury and disbelief.
Avoiding his burning gaze, Lucy grabbed Daniel’s hand and strode away.
Turner’s eyes followed their intertwined hands, his chest heaving with barely contained rage. With a loud crash, his fist slammed into the door. “Lucy, you’re really something else!” he growled.

Daniel rode his motorcycle, his lips pressed into a tight line and his face dark with frustration.
Just moments ago, it had looked like Lucy kissed him, but in reality, their lips never even touched.
It was clear that Lucy was using him as a pawn to provoke Turner earlier.
The more Daniel thought about it, the angrier he became, the frustration building up like a weight on his chest. Without even checking if Lucy wanted to head back to campus, he drove straight to a bar and parked right at the entrance. Once off the motorcycle, he grabbed Lucy’s arm and dragged her inside without giving her a chance to resist. Inside, the bar was a chaotic mix of flashing lights and rock music, with men and women dancing wildly to the beat. Daniel shoved Lucy onto a couch in a dimly lit corner and leaned in close.
Lucy reacted instantly, raising her foot and pressing it firmly against Daniel’s chest. Her icy gaze locked onto his as she said sharply, “Looking for trouble?”
The flickering lights cast shadows across her face, making her look even more dangerous.
Whatever courage Daniel had managed to summon vanished the moment he met her piercing stare.
He let out a defeated sigh and slumped onto the couch beside her. He rested his head on her shoulder as he murmured softly, “Lucy, I really do like you.”
Lucy smirked, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she said, “Liking me won’t pay the bills.”
“Why not? If you’d just give me a chance, I’d take care of you for the rest of your life,” Daniel said, his voice filled with
urgency.
Lucy let out a cold laugh. “Taking care of me? It’s the biggest lie men tell.”
Owen’s empty promises to Camila echoed in her mind–vows to protect her and bring justice to those who hurt her. His words still rang in her ears, but the man was gone. Trusting a man’s promises was a sure path to heartbreak.
Lucy stood up, her expression indifferent. “Daniel, lines like that might fool naive little girls, but I’ve never bought into them. Have fun I’m out.”
