I returned to this city four years
later.
For those four years, I cut off all contact with Julian.
Including with Victoria.
Dad had actually tried to contact Victoria himself.
But Victoria’s attitude was very harsh.
On the phone, her voice was disdainful:
“Why are you still contacting me? Since your little daughter already took you away, just pretend you don’t have an older daughter.”
“Robert Evans, you traitor who betrayed my mother, you have no right to be my father.”
Dad was severely shaken, almost collapsing again.
From then on, Dad never contacted Victoria again.
Mainly because Victoria had already blocked his number.

I had just stepped off the plane when I bumped into someone–it was Julian’s friend, Dylan Jenkins.
Dylan excitedly grabbed my hand.
“It’s you, it’s really you, Lily! You’re back?”
I was confused.
What was this guy doing?
Anyone who didn’t know us would think we used to be close.
Before I could say anything, Dylan’s hand trembled as he dialed a number.
I tried to stop him, but it was too late.
Julian’s voice boomed:
“What do you want? Spit it out, quick!”
Dylan was so excited he could barely speak.
“It’s… it’s her, it’s Li…”
“Can you speak properly, you idiot?”
“It’s Lily! I saw her!”
Dylan finally blurted out the important information in one breath.
The sounds on the other end abruptly ceased.
I shot him a glare, muttering under my breath, “Crazy.”
I turned to leave, but Dylan quickly grabbed my arm.
“You can’t leave yet!”

Four years had passed, I was no longer the easily manipulated Liy Evans I once was.
Dyke was started by my reaction and let go of my band.
But he still wouldn’t let me leave.

“I don’t have time. In rushing to meet a client”
I pushed Dylan aside and grabbed my suitcase, heading for the exit.
All the way to the airport exit Dylan followed me closely as if afraid I’d disappear again.
thailed a taxi. Just as I was about to get in, I heard rapid fectsters behind me.
Dylan was still pleading.
“Don’t go. Jullen won’t let me off the book if you leave.”
“He searched for you for so long after you left. No matter what, you’ve known each other for ages, how can you be so heartless…”
Iinstinctively held my breath, turning to lock behind me.
Dylan also locked.
“Julian, you’re finally here.”
Julian didn’t look at me, walking directly to my side.

The three words came out hoarse.
Like emotions he had desperately suppressed finally finding an outlet.
I looked up, meeting his eyes, which were filled with complex emotions.
There was the joy of finding something lost, an unbearable bitterness, and an almost
obsessive resentment.
Julian looked more mature and composed than four years ago.
“Hmm, long time no see,” I greeted him calmly.
As I spoke, I saw his pupils suddenly constrict.
The next second, he reverted to his usual demeanor when facing me.
“Four years later, and you’re still so distant with me?”
Dylan, seeing this, was practically jumping up and down in frustration.
He lightly punched Julian, “You’re still being stubborn. You’re going to scare her off
again.”
Julian’s brow visibly furrowed.
He anxiously took two steps forward.
“What? Are you planning to leave again without saying goodbye?”
Dylan rolled his eyes at him, a speechless expression on his face, like, “You clueless guy, you’re finished.”
