Chapter 167
She knew about his affair with Jeannette. She knew Lara was his daughter. She knew he’d been cheating on her for five years…
If she ever found out he’d taken away her child….
Eddy couldn’t bear to finish the thought.
His wife would never forgive him.
He had to find her–bring her back, and then maybe, just maybe, he could coax her into staying.
The banquet hall erupted into chaos, and the livestream chat was even more frenzied.
“Mr. Simmons is using his billions to launch a global search–no, not a manhunt, he’s searching the world for Mrs. Simmons!”
“Hold it right there!” A man and a woman suddenly burst into the ballroom.
The man barked, “Eddy, you can’t do this.”
Eddy recognized him instantly–his father, Jacob, who had vanished a decade ago.
“Jacob?” Margaret and several guests stared in disbelief. “Why can’t Eddy do this?”
The woman, Serena, thrust a stack of documents into Eddy’s hands, her tone dripping with mockery. “These are the papers showing Mrs. Simmons has donated all her shares to a charity foundation. And since we control that foundation now, we’re the largest shareholders in The Simmons Group. Eddy, you’re left with nothing.”
“What?!”
Kelvin was as stunned as the rest, snatching the documents and flipping to the final page. When he saw the signature, his face paled. “Eddy, this really is Blanche’s signature.”
Eddy stared at Blanche’s delicate handwriting, his heart twisting tighter.
She had given up everything, making a clean break.
“Blanche knew Jacob betrayed Loraine. Why would she do this? Is she trying to get back at you?”
“Cheated with your wife’s sister, fathered a child out of wedlock… If your wife wants

revenge, It’s hardly a surprise. If you’re going to mess around, at least dont get a caught. You should’ve learned from me–but you picked a fool for a wife, and now you’re paying for It.” Jacob sneered, absolutely smug.
Suddenly, his vision went black as pain exploded across his cheek. He howled, “You–you bastard!”
“You’ve lost everything, and you still dare to hit me?”
Serena hurried to Jacob’s side, full of concern. “Are you alright?”
Jacob nursed the side of his face, his voice venomous. “As the largest shareholder,
I’m removing you from your position as CEO. You’re suspended, effective
immediately.”
Eddy’s eyes were icy, not a hint of fear. He stared Jacob down. “You’re in no position to speak about my wife.”
Seeing Eddy so unmoved by the loss of The Simmons Group, Jacob looked as if he’d punched a pillow–his anger had nowhere to land.
Just then, the head of security strode in. “Sir, we’ve found Mrs. Simmons!”
“The IT guys‘ hacker friends traced the signal from the phone in the ballroom to a computer–the device is moving toward a private airfield.”
“Hurry, catch up with it!”
A wave of dread crashed over Eddy. He grabbed Healy and headed out at a run.
The security detail quickly cleared Jacob and Serena out of their way.
“Eddy, why can’t you see the truth?” Ingrid seized the moment, stepping forward. “Blanche set you up, hurt you–she never loved you. I’m the one who loves you.” Eyes shining with longing, Ingrid pleaded, “There’s no place for you at The Simmons. Group, but I can give you The Marshall Group.”
“Stop looking for her! She doesn’t love you anymore–she’s left you behind!”
Eddy’s gaze was cold as frost when he looked at Ingrid. “My wife would never hurt me. But even if she did–so what?”
“If it’s her, then I’d take it willingly.” His dark eyes shimmered with something fierce and unyielding.
Security restrained Ingrid, pulling her aside.
She shouted after him, more desperate than ever. “She handed over years of your

hard work to the one person you hate most, and you still love her? Eddy, are you
insane?!”
Eddy ignored her, dragging Healy along as he strode out.
The Rolls–Royce tore down the runway, racing toward the airport.
On the plane, Blanche secured her mother Sheila’s urn and couldn’t help but ask, “Director–General, why are you leaving so suddenly? Is everything taken care of?”
Ablett gazed out the window.
In the distance, a convoy of black cars was speeding toward them.
His jaw tightened, his voice cold as he instructed the pilot, “Take off. Now.”
He turned back to Blanche, his expression unreadable. “Yes, everything’s settled.”
“That’s good,” Blanche replied, her eyes drifting to the laptop in front of her, where Eddy’s name was still trending in the news.
She barely glanced at it, opening up her project’s code and diving back into her work.
The plane began to taxi forward.
Suddenly, the screech of brakes shattered the quiet–cars blocked the path of the plane.
Blanche’s head snapped up in shock as a man and a boy stepped out, both glaring at her with blazing eyes.
“You’re not leaving,” the man said, voice trembling with emotion.
The plane came to an abrupt stop.
