Chapter 18
Helena
I turned around.
“Samuel,” my voice caught in my throat with anger.
He was standing not far from me. There was no trace of the arrogant expression he usually wore. Only devastation. His legs, crippled by my father’s strength, tried to keep coming closer.
‘I want to apologize to you.”
‘What are you doing here?” I gripped my own sleeve, holding back my anger.
t was no use now. Just a waste of time. My intention in standing here was simply to enjoy time with Liam.
He walked slowly, as if each step was torture. “I don’t know where to start. I just need to talk to ‘ou.”
It’s too late, Samuel,” my voice was flat, but my heart was racing. Anger and frustration mingled Please listen to me first,” he said quickly, almost panicking. “When I found out who you reall ire, whose blood flows through your veins… I-I was shattered. I felt like a monster.”
laughed softly, bitterly. “Only now do you feel that way?”
I was wrong… I was so wrong.” He bowed his head, clutching his hair. “If I had known… if I had nown you were the daughter of King Alpha-I never would have—”
And that’s the problem,” I cut in sharply. “You’re only sorry because you just found out who I am ot for what you did to me. I can see that!”
le fell silent. His breath was ragged. “I’ve been looking for you since morning. I wanted you to now that I want to fix everything.”
Fix?” I took a step forward, glaring at him. Then I laughed softly. “What do you plan to fix the vounds you caused with? With regret?”
fis eyes welled up. “I love you, Helena…”
My heart sank. But not because I was moved. Rather, because finally, I truly knew…
That feeling was dead. Buried long ago. All that remained was disgust.
took a slow breath. “I’ll learn not to hate you, Samuel. But you’re no longer part of my life.”
Helena, please-”
‘You’re disgusting,” I cut him off with a low but piercing voice. “Do I have to say it out loud?” His eyes changed. His wolfish gaze turned angry. I just laughed softly at that. I already knew he wasn’t sincere in coming to me. It was all because he was afraid of losing the alliance with Ironshade.
Samuel was only after status and position. Always had been. Never changed.
“So now I think you should leave.” I emphasized my words. Firmly. “Before I get sick of you. Because I truly won’t pity you at all.”
His burning eyes didn’t give up. But I knew he had lost his words. Because everything I said was
true.
“Helena-”
Footsteps sounded from behind.
Alpha Liam appeared, holding something in his hand-but he froze when he saw Samuel standing near me.
His eyes hardened.
“Is he bothering you?” he asked, his tone turning sharp.
I only looked at Samuel for one last second.
Then I turned toward Liam.
“No,” I said firmly. “He’s just… late in realizing his own worth.”
I walked toward Liam. And for the first time, I didn’t look back.
Samuel didn’t stop me.
He just stood there, alone, in the unforgiving morning light.
‘Let me destroy him,” Liam said with the remnants of his anger. He didn’t move away, but he wa eady to attack Samuel.
But I held his arm. “Don’t defile our childhood home, Liam. Especially not for an insignifican
wolf.”
Hearing that, Liam’s anger subsided slightly. But it still lingered.
With firmness and strength, he glared at Samuel. “If I see you approaching Helena or bothering her again, I won’t hesitate to kill you!” he warned.
didn’t get to see Samuel’s expression because I immediately took Liam’s hand. I had decided to enjoy today properly.
Time passed quickly. The following days passed peacefully.
Alpha Liam and I felt closer. My father had supported us from the beginning. Thorne always carried out his duties well.
Then the Silver Moon pack-I heard they were falling apart. Other packs didn’t accept them. One by one, alliances began to break away from them. The Silver Moon had truly lost their trust.
The news didn’t surprise me. They deserved it, Besides being betrayed by them, it all happened because of their own mistakes. They cheated, oppressed smaller packs, and did many other things.
As for Samuel, I don’t know. I haven’t heard his name in a long time. Just because I didn’t want
But this morning, I heard another piece of news that was supposedly a bit different.
It came from Liam, who suddenly hugged me from behind. I was startled, always awkward. But gradually, it felt comfortable, I don’t know when we became like this.
Like a slow-growing feeling of love flowing.
“The latest news, reporting to Princess Ironshade,” he said half-jokingly.
I slowly let go of his hand. “Hurry up and tell me. You’re deliberately making me curious.”
