After emergency treatment, the three of them were quickly wheeled back to their hospital room.
Seeing they were about to wake up, I hurriedly gathered my thoughts and stopped dwelling on my past life.

As for Sofia, she was naturally pure and kind–hearted. I didn’t need to give her any special instructions. As long as Ruby wasn’t there stirring up trouble, I believed that even if Sofia’s thoughts were heard, it wouldn’t matter—it might even help strengthen her marriage with Jackson.
However, the idea that blood transfusions could enable mind–reading was just my speculation. I’d have to wait for Harvey to wake up to confirm the details.
Watching Harvey’s eyelids flutter, I immediately composed myself, buried my head against his arm, and silently thought: “As long as Harvey wakes up healthy, I’m willing to do anything.”
Then I felt a hand gently stroking my hair.
I looked up tearfully, gazing at Harvey with joy, thinking: “Thank goodness! Harvey really woke up. If something happened to him, I couldn’t go on living either.”
While thinking this, I carefully observed Harvey’s expression.

Sure enough, I saw confusion written all over his face, as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know how to begin.
So I asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? I’ll get the doctor right away.”
Just as I was checking Harvey’s wounds, Sofia suddenly cried out. Jackson and Ruby had woken up too.
I thought to myself: “Ruby is so beautiful, but now her face is ruined from the car accident. What a shame. I won’t tell her
about this yet—I’ll wait until she’s recovered.”
Sure enough, Ruby immediately panicked and covered her face with her hands.
Then, as if she’d discovered something, she kept staring at me with a probing look in her eyes.
I pretended not to notice and continued thinking: “Why is Ruby looking at me like that? Is she feeling unwell somewhere? She and Harvey grew up together, so I must take care of her like a sister and help her recover quickly.”
Then, without looking at the three people in the room again, I pulled Sofia along and quickly walked out.

they expected. I covered Sofia’s mouth and quietly stayed by the

Sure enough, I soon heard Ruby’s choked voice: “Harvey, Jackson, I thought I’d never see you again. Thank you for saving me.”
Then Harvey’s cheerful voice came through: “Don’t mention
- it. If you want to thank anyone, thank our wives. They donated blood to all three of us despite their own health, which is why we could all survive together.”
Upon hearing this, Ruby, who had been quietly sobbing, suddenly paused.
Then she looked extremely conflicted, as if she didn’t know how to speak up.
Finally, Ruby bit her lip and said, “After waking up this time, I think I can hear what they’re thinking.”
Hearing her words, Jackson looked delighted and was about to respond, but Harvey stopped him with a look, making him clamp his mouth shut.
Then Harvey frowned disapprovingly and said, “How could such a thing be possible? We can’t talk about superstitious nonsense
like this.”
Hearing this, Ruby pouted with grievance. Then, as if remembering something, a flash of cunning crossed her eyes.

She said, “I’m really not making this up. Violet was just cursing me in her mind, saying I’m disfigured from the car accident and now I’m hideous.”
After saying this, without waiting for the two men to respond, Ruby covered her face and began sobbing as if she’d been deeply wronged. So she didn’t notice the probing looks in Harvey and Jackson’s eyes after she finished speaking.

themselves.
