“He married me for show, but in reality, he was after our pack’s money.”
My mother’s face contorted with rage. “That bastard! He got his Beta pregnant and still had the audacity to marry you just to swindle us?”
She grabbed my hand, her grip tight with both fury and concern. “Clarissa, thank the Moon Goddess you found out in time. If you had gone through with it and handed over our pack, our family would’ve been ruined!”
Locking eyes with me, she declared firmly, “Promise me you won’t regret this or ever go back to him. If you do, I’ll never forgive you.”
I shook my head without hesitation, my voice steady. “Mom, don’t worry. One betrayal is enough. There won’t be a second.”
As fate would have it, I ran into Alpha Derick and Beta Rebecca in the underground parking
lot.

The moment he spotted me, Derick’s nose
wrinkled in exaggerated disgust, and he fanned the air dramatically. “You reek of alcohol. How much did you drink? Let me guess… drowning
your sorrows over me?”
He smirked arrogantly. “If you regret leaving, it’s not too late to change your mind.”
I laughed outright. How full of himself could he
be? My reaction clearly didn’t sit well with him -his expression darkened.
“What the hell are you laughing at?” he snapped.
“Nothing, nothing at all,” I said, waving him off with a chuckle. Then, my gaze shifted to Beta
Rebecca.
“Pregnant women shouldn’t be around
alcohol,” I remarked. “Since she’s carrying your precious pup, you should get her out of here before anything happens.”
Derick snorted but didn’t respond immediately. Before he could, Rebecca clung to his arm and
cooed, “Dear, I want to talk to Clarissa alone.

Derick frowned, clearly suspicious. “What for?”
“Just go,” she pouted, voice syrupy sweet.
He exhaled, exasperated. “Fine, fine. I swear, I can never say no to you.” His tone dripped with affection as he turned to leave. I barely resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
Before walking away, he shot me a final glare. “Clarissa, if you dare hurt Rebecca, you’ll regret it.”
I ignored him and turned to my mother. “Take Dad to the car. I’ll be right there.”
Once they were gone, I folded my arms and faced Rebecca. “Alright. What do you want?”
Rebecca smiled, a glint of calculation in her
eyes.
“Clarissa, I know you still love Alpha Derick. I can give him to you.”
At her words, I casually slipped my hand into

my pocket and discreetly turned on my phone’s recording app.
“Just one condition.” She held up two fingers. “Sixty million dollars. That’s all. Once I get the money, I’ll abort the pup and disappear. You can have Derick all to yourself happily ever after.”
I raised an eyebrow, feigning interest. “Tempting.”
Her face lit up. “So, you agree?”
I smiled coldly. “Sixty million isn’t much, but I have one question…” I tilted my head, studying her. “What do you think Derick will do if he finds out you’re willing to trade his pup for cash?”
Rebecca’s expression didn’t falter. Instead, she let out a mocking laugh. “Why should I care? I only want the money.”
She folded her arms, smirking. “I’ll be honest–I only slept with him for financial security.”
Her voice dripped with disdain as she continued, “I thought getting pregnant would

force him to marry me. I wanted to be a rich
lady, a powerful Luna. But guess what? He won’t even acknowledge me properly. I can’t marry him, and I’m not getting any money out of this. So tell me, why the hell should I give birth to his pup?”
She scoffed, her frustration boiling over. “He and his parents promised me the world. Said I’d be treated well once the baby was born. But I’m not stupid. I don’t want empty words–I want real money.”
Her voice sharpened. “If you don’t pay up, I don’t care what promises they make. I won’t
believe a word of it.”
I held her gaze, unblinking. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll
tell Alpha Derick what you just said?”
Rebecca let out a careless laugh. “Go ahead.”
She shrugged, her expression infuriatingly. composed. “Let’s see who he believes–his
‘beloved‘ pregnant fiancée or his ex, who just made a fool of him in front of everyone?”
Placing a hand on her stomach, she stroked it

like she was cradling a winning lottery ticket. Her lips curled into a smug smile.
“Don’t forget,” she added, her voice dripping with satisfaction, “I’m the one carrying his child.”
My gaze flicked to her stomach, and an icy chill swept through me.
This woman… she didn’t see the life inside her
as a baby. To her, it was nothing more than a bargaining chip–a tool for manipulation, for
extortion.
And that made her even more repulsive than I’d
ever imagined.
