As I descended the stairs, my eyes immediately landed on Alpha Mike seated at the dining table.
He was clad in a perfectly tailored dark gray shirt, the cuffs casually rolled up, revealing his strong and muscular forearms
I pulled out the chair to sit down.
“Uncle, you said you were busy today. You didn’t have to come back specially to cook.”
Alpha Mike’s lips curved upward into a doting smile.
He placed a freshly filled bowl of soup in front of me and said in a gentle tone, “No matter how busy I am, I have to cook for my precious girl.”
During the meal, I casually looked up and met Alpha Mike’s gaze.
His eyes were fixed intently on me, and his stare seemed to carry a palpable warmth.

I lowered my head and silently picked up some food and put it in my mouth.
Suddenly, Alpha Mike stood up and reached for
the condiment plate in front of me.
Our hands accidentally brushed against each
other.
I jerked my hand back as if I had been electrocuted, and my heart began to race wildly.
Alpha Mike, however, wore a half – smile and
remained silent.
He walked around behind me and leaned in
slightly, his hands braced on the armrests of my
chair.
In an instant, the distance between us closed,
and I could even feel his warm breath on my neck. “Darling, do you like the food today?”
I nervously swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
“Ye… yes. The food tastes great.”

I looked up, and my eyes met Alpha Mike’s.
In that split second, I froze.
It didn’t look like the gaze of an uncle towards his niece.
“It must be because I haven’t seen Uncle for a long time. How could I think such a thing? This is clearly just an uncle’s doting on his niece.”
But Alpha Mike didn’t leave immediately.
His fingers gently brushed across my cheek, “What’s wrong? Your face is so red.”
I stammered in response, “N… nothing.”
Then he asked, “How are things going with your boyfriend?”
I fell silent.
I knew Alpha Mike was worried about me.
But I couldn’t utter Alpha Frank’s name, nor could I let him know about those disgraceful
