Chapter 46
I quickly adjusted my state, speaking methodically: “There’s only one arrangement tonight. Benjamin from Smart Finance Technology had imited yan to a yacht reception to welcome you.”
He nodded: “I’ll sleep for a while first, wake me at five.”
“Alright.”
I agreed, then Clay and I each returned to our own rooms.
I hadn’t even had time to open my suitcase before hurrying out to take a taxi to the nearest mall fo shop for clothes.
Business attire, casual wear, formal dresses… I needed to prepare for various occasions.
By the time I returned to the hotel it was already 4:30. I quickly showered and changed into a crisp professional outfit.
At 4:50, I quietly entered Garrett Wylder’s room, first hanging up the suits from his suitcase, then selecting an outfit for tonight and ironing it smooth.
At exactly five o’clock, the alarm rang.
I took a deep breath and walked into the bedroom with professional steps.
But the moment I first saw the bed – my high heels wobbled.
On the large bed in the bedroom, my boss was wearing a silver–gray silk robe, chest open, collarbone and chest muscles fully visible, with two long. toned legs showing below the robe… It was like a 3D modeling showcase, complete high–definition display.
I knew I shouldn’t look, but my eyes completely disobeyed me – I stared for a full five or six seconds.
The more I looked, the more panicked I became.
Was it appropriate for Clay to assign personal care duties to me? Was it reasonable? Was I a secretary or a personal assistant?
I considered fleeing, but… it was already 5:05!
I steeled myself and walked to the bedside, calling out gently yet professionally: “Alpha, time to get up.”
Garrett Wylder frowned, then relaxed, didn’t wake up, and slept even more soundly.
I cleared my throat and raised my voice a bit, “Alpha, it’s five o’clock, you should wake up.”
Disturbed, he showed a hint of displeasure between his brows and raised his arm to cover his eyes.
Then there was no movement again.
…Seriously? He had a bad temper when waking up?
I hadn’t expected my career might end right at the start because I couldn’t wake up my boss.
It was 5:12.
I steeled my heart, bent down, leaned close to his ear, and shouted with all my breath: “Time to get up-!”
The bed immediately stirred.
Before I could straighten up, a large hand pressed on the back of my head.

Alpha
Now He’s on His Knees
My lips, completely unprepared, pressed against his jawline.
My pupils instantly shook
Delicate skin, clean scent, warm touch like electric currents traveling from my lips to my brain, leaving my mind completely Blank,
Garrett Wylder stiffened slightly.
He didn’t make a sound, just pulled his palm back and gently pushed my head away.
We looked into each other’s eyes.
One face stiff as stone, the other expressionless as a statue.
After an unknown period of silence, I finally seemed to come back to life, frantically pulling away his hand and standing up, fumbling to fix my hair, using all my strength to calm my voice: “It’s 5:30, you really should get up.”
After speaking, I fled from his room like I was on fire wheels.
Garrett Wylder: “…”
He was silent for a moment, then rolled over onto his back, covering his eyes with the back of his hand.
I rushed back to my room in one breath and went into the bathroom to wash my face.
In the mirror, my face was as red as a freshly steamed bun.
I was just following work procedures to wake him up, how did it… turn into me kissing him?!
This was too bizarre!!
At six o’clock, I steeled myself and went to Garrett Wylder’s room again.
