Her studio was short–handed and barely had enough funds to sustain itself. It was like a pipe dream to expect to hire someone with strong work abilities and rich experience without asking for a salary.
Jennifer happened to think that after this incident, Catalina definitely wouldn’t want Curtis anymore. Keeping Curtis on her side would save some salary, killing two birds with one stone.
