Chapter 5 Woman, Come See Me

“Your name was Linda? Why did you draw my car? Who was the person with you just now?”

Linda crossed her arms, tilted her head, pouted, and said, “I’m not telling you my name is Linda. I did it all by myself. There was no one else.”

Was pretty loyal, and also a bit silly.

“Since you wouldn’t give up your accomplice, then tell me who your mom was.”

“I wouldn’t tell you.”

“Then I could only take you back.”

When Linda heard she was going to be caught, her big eyes blinked and it looked like she was about to cry.

Rodrigo put her on the ground.

Linda wiped away her tears, didn’t hesitate, turned around right away, and tried hard to move her little legs and swing her arms.

Mumbling to herself, “Run, run, Linda, run…”

Rodrigo raised his eyebrows and looked at the little kid, but didn’t grab her right away.

It wasn’t until Linda thought she had gotten away that he rushed over in a few quick steps and picked her up again.

Linda was lifted into the air, tried kicking her legs, and found it was all useless.

“Kept running.”

Linda put her hands in her pockets, hung her head angrily, looking like an angry little pufferfish.

Rodrigo curled his lips and actually thought this little girl was kind of cute. He brought her over to the car. When he saw those ugly words again, he said, “Tell me, why did you write these words?”

Abandoned his wife and kid.

It wasn’t something a girl her age would know.

Linda kept her mouth shut and didn’t want to say a word.

“Rodrigo, what’s up with this kid?” Paisley frowned.

“She admitted she did it, wouldn’t say anything else, Kade, call the police.”

“Yes, sir, this child?”

Rodrigo glanced around, didn’t see anyone. The kid looked about four or five, couldn’t just leave her here alone.

Rodrigo opened the car door, put the little girl in, and said, “Wait for the police to contact her parents to pick her up.”

Linda instantly felt like the sky was falling.

Mommy was right, Daddy would take Linda away.

Linda was about to not see mommy anymore.

Tears of sadness were falling down, plop plop.

Rodrigo got in the car and saw that the little girl, who had just been so brave and wanted to handle everything by herself, was actually crying now.

He wasn’t good with kids, and he hated it when kids cried in front of him. But right now, looking at this pitiful little face, his hard heart softened a bit.

“What are you crying for? I didn’t even hit you.”

Linda wiped her tears with her chubby hands. “Linda was caught by bad guys, Linda would never see mommy again, Linda… Linda…”

I was really sad.

The little girl cried so hard she couldn’t speak.

Rodrigo watched quietly for a while, then said, “When your mom contacts me, I’ll let you go back.”

“Really?” Linda stopped crying in a second, her bright, watery eyes looking at him.

Rodrigo had to wonder if this girl was faking it.

“Yeah, but you had to tell me why you drew my car.”

Linda kept her mouth shut, staring at Rodrigo with big eyes, like you’re not getting anything out of me.

Even though Rodrigo usually called the shots in business, right now he couldn’t do anything about a little girl who loved to cry.

They watched Linda get taken away, and the two little ones who ran off first freaked out.

Jacob wanted to run out and save Linda, but Elliot stopped him. Elliot said calmly, “We kind of look like the bad daddy. If we go out, we can’t save Linda and we’ll just cause trouble for mommy.”

‘What about Linda?”

‘Find mommy first.”

Jacob shuddered all over, squeezed his little butt tight, and covered it with both hands. He felt like his butt was about to split open.

The phone rang, it was Gianna’s call.

Gianna couldn’t find the three of them and was almost freaking out.

‘It’s over, it’s over, Mommy’s call.” Jacob scratched his head.

‘Picked up.” Elliot had already answered the call.

Gianna’s voice came from inside, “Elliot, Jacob, where did you go? Where’s your sister? Is she with you?”

‘Linda…Linda…” Jacob was so anxious he couldn’t get the words out.

‘Mommy, Linda was taken away by Rodrigo…” Elliot calmly explained this to Gianna.

Gianna heard it and for a moment wondered if there was something wrong with her ears.

Gianna was silent for a whole ten seconds before she reacted.

The sky fell.

“You guys… this… Linda… I…” Gianna was so anxious she couldn’t find the words. In the end, she could only ask, “Did he recognize you?”

Elliot: “No.”

It was okay.

The sky only fell a little.

Gianna took a deep breath and tried hard to stay calm, “You guys come back first, Mommy will figure something out.”

the

“Okay.”

Just after hanging up, Gianna got a call from an unknown number.

Gianna had a bad feeling.

My hand shook, and I answered the call.

The man across said in a cold voice, “Are you the kid’s mother?”

“I was.”

“Your daughter was with me.”

Gianna instantly recognized it was Rodrigo’s voice and felt a chill in her heart. “What do you want?”

“Ocean Hotel, came to pick up.”

Gianna heard Linda crying on the other end and got anxious right away, “I know what happened, let’s talk this out, I’ll pay whatever needs to be paid, just don’t hurt my kid.”

Rodrigo frowned.

The woman’s voice made him feel like he’d heard it somewhere before.

Just as I was thinking, the little girl next to me started crying even louder. The little girl was really emotional-she cried for a while, then stopped, then after a bit, as if she remembered something sad, she cried again.

Rodrigo pinched his brow, “I’m not interested in hurting a kid, but you need to come over and explain this.”

He didn’t believe a little kid knew what abandoning wife and child meant. The kid must have heard that phrase from adults.

He needed to figure out what was going on.

After he finished speaking, Rodrigo hung up the phone.

Gianna heard Linda crying and felt heartbroken. She wanted to go to the hotel Rodrigo mentioned right away.

She had just taken a couple of steps, then she stopped again.

No way.

Already saw Rodrigo once at the auction house, saw him again, showing up too often, it was too easy for him to find out she was Gianna.

If he found out she was Gianna, he would immediately realize Linda was his daughter.

No way.

Absolutely not.

Gianna walked around in circles with her phone, then called her best friend Joselyn.

Half an hour later, Gianna drove the car and took Joselyn, Elliot, and Jacob to the Ocean Hotel that Rodrigo mentioned.

On the way, Gianna had already explained the whole thing to Joselyn.

What Gianna needed was for Joselyn to go get Linda out.

“Gianna, are you sure it worked?”

“I’m sure.” Gianna grabbed Joselyn’s hand, “Joselyn, I’ll leave Linda to you.”

Joselyn saw the worried look in Gianna’s eyes, patted her chest, and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely bring Linda back.”

Joselyn got out of the car and walked into the hotel like one man holding the pass against ten thousand enemies.

Glanna could only take Elliot, Jacob waited at the door, praying everything would go well.

“Wowww…” Linda sat on the couch, her little chubby hands covering her face, head tilted back, crying sadly.

Rodrigo sat to the side, frowning as he watched.

Kade went to several places and bought a bunch of candy. “Sir.”

Rodrigo glanced at the big pile of candy, “This is the way you were talking about?”

Kade pulled at the corner of his mouth, “Kids all love candy, sir, just coax her.”

“I coaxed?”

You brought this little girl back yourself, so if you didn’t comfort her, who would?

Rodrigo looked at Linda, who wouldn’t stop crying, sighed, got up, walked over, picked her up, and held her in his arms.

Linda was light, Rodrigo could hold her with one hand.

Linda’s little butt sat on his forearm, her eyes red as she looked at him with a dark face.

“Didn’t your parents ever teach you that crying didn’t solve anything?”

Linda sobbed, “So if Linda stops crying, can you let Linda go right away?”

“Couldn’t.”

Linda pursed her lips, and her tears fell plop plop.

Rodrigo looked at her pitiful face, his cold heart softened a bit. He picked up the candy and coaxed her, “Want some?”

Linda took a look.

A lollipop.

Not interested.

Not seeing mommy wasn’t something a lollipop could fix.

Linda pursed her lips, and her tears didn’t stop.

Rodrigo raised an eyebrow, “Two?”

“Three sticks?”

“Let’s talk, five sticks!”
