“Hehehehe, it’s great! Let’s do it again!”
And my mother-in-law unexpectedly appeared from somewhere, handing Lucas a large bouquet, looking at me with expectant eyes.
“Now can you tell me where mom is?”
These two perverts, like devilish characters, suddenly picked up a small knife and
rushed at me.
“Bah! They’re both senile old fools! What’s wrong with me having a mistress, huh? I’m a chief physician at a top hospital now, do you realize how successful I am? They should be proud of me. My biggest regret was not being with Julia back then, now I’m simply trying to make up for my regret-how am I wrong?”
Julia looked at me with pride.
Nate and Julia were successfully arrested and sentenced to thirteen years in prison.
Arriving at Julia Sanford’s home, Nate wanted to divorce me here. The divorce agreement was already prepared, just waiting for me to sign.
Julia sneered, “How about scratching her face, tearing off her clothes, and throwing her into a beggar’s nest? I bet those stinky beggars will surely love a kind-hearted, righteous woman like Sister Sophia.”
The painful scratch etched blood on my face. I struggled hard but couldn’t break free from Nate’s firm grip.
“Luke!”
“I won’t tell you. That old fool should have died long ago! I’m sending her back; she can spend her life in the hospital!”
Nate sneered, “What evidence do you have? I’m a doctor, I can do things flawlessly. I’m
merely taking my mother for a health check-up.”
Julia laughed at this point, “Sister Sophia is truly filial and kind, but why do I just despise your fake integrity and righteousness? Honey what do vou sav?”
Although my face healed, there was still a faint scar. Lucas came to pick me up from the hospital, still the smiling young man.
She directly called Nate honey.
“Sophie.”
“Whatever you want to do is up to you! You’ve received the assets; release my mother-in-law!”
I went crazy, rushing over to grab Nate’s collar, “Are you even human! You killed your father, now you want to kill your mother too! They were the people who gave you life and raised you!”
With Lucas around, I felt incredibly relieved and managed to escape from danger smoothly.
This time, it was tears of happiness.
I turned my head, self-consciously covering my face, feeling undeserving of Lucas.
“Luke, do you truly not regret it?”
“Hehehe, great idea! I can’t stand her either; she used that innocent, pitiful face to seduce my brother. See if my brother still wants her after we scratch her face!”
Lucas was just as shocked as I was; neither of us expected Nate to be so shameless.
“Cut the crap and sign the agreement.”
“What are you talking about? I… I can’t, I can’t marry you.”
“Darling, what should we do? Now that we have this old woman in our hands, you can do whatever you wish.”
“Ah! No! No!”
“Sophia Reed, will you marry me?”
Tears flowed from my eyes as Lucas put the ring on my finger and hugged me tightly, kissing me passionately in front of all the medical staff…
I was so scared I screamed and hid, but after several rounds of escape, Nate caught me. Nate grabbed my arm tightly as Julia held the knife, one hand gripping my chin, the
other hand with the knife slicing towards my face.
I told Lucas about the situation, asking him to report it to the police, find my
mother-in-law, and prevent my mom from getting hurt.
My mother-in-law was so heartbroken, shedding tears, reporting her own son to the police.
“What did you call me?” I was stunned.
Nate was overjoyed to get the agreement.
“But you shouldn’t… call me so… affectionately…”
The last two words came out in a whisper, Lucas boldly hugged me, “I talked to mom, asking her to let you marry me. I won’t call you Sophie, I’ll call you my wife instead.”
Lucas said this, taking out a ring, kneeling on one knee, proposing to me in front of all
the medical staff.
“Do you two realize what your actions are? This is murder!”
Just as I was utterly desperate, someone burst in from outside, it was Lucas. He fiercely punched Julia and kicked Nate away, pulling me to escape.
“You and my brother are divorced now; I can’t keep calling you sister-in-law.”
“Sophie, I genuinely want to marry you, regardless of how your appearance changes, I will never regret it in this life. Besides, you’re so beautiful, how can two shallow scars obscure your beauty?”
I managed to sign, I’ve been waiting for this day for so long.
“Tell me quickly, where have you hidden mom?”
“Sister-in-law, rest assured, I’ve called the police; they’ve found mom, I’m taking you away!”
“Bitch! Competing with me for my husband! Go to hell!”
However, my face was ruined. Arriving at the hospital, my mother-in-law arrived to check on me, seeing my bandaged face, I was in great pain, entirely unable to accept it.
