In her eyes, Laura had loved Andrew so much she was willing to be the other woman and bear his child, even after he was
gone.
How could a woman like that possibly kill him?
I let my smirk deepen and said, “Funny thing, though.”
“The autopsy confirmed Andrew was infertile.”
“He never could’ve had kids. So… who’s the father of Laura’s baby?”
My bestie burst out laughing.
“Oh, that’s easy. Some random guy.”
“I mean, if she’s willing to be a mistress, who’s to say she didn’t have a few other guys on the side?”
“You’re lying!”
Andrew’s mother hissed, but doubt flickered in her eyes.
She lunged at me.
I shoved her back.
“Oh, please.”
“You forced me to take all those meds for years, convinced I was the problem.”
“Turns out, your son was the one who couldn’t have kids.”
“The Davis family line was doomed from the start!”
“And you’re still treating Laura’s bastard like he’s your grandson? Hah!”
I wiped away tears from laughing too hard.
“Oh, and let’s not forget–Andrew was drunk driving that night.”
“Who pushed him to drink? You did.”
“If you hadn’t kept refilling his glass, maybe he’d still be alive.”
Watching their faces twist in horror was the best revenge.
“Killed by his own mother and replaced by some other guy’s kid…”
“Andrew must be losing his damn mind in the afterlife.”
My bestie cackled.
We took turns hitting them where it hurt.
Andrew’s mom looked like she was about to explode.
She wanted to deny it, but she couldn’t even stand the sight of Laura right now.
And when she heard Laura was officially under investigation, her last shred of sanity snapped.
She coughed up blood right there on the station steps.
Andrew’s dad had to call an ambulance.
From this day forward, my life was mine again.
“Actually, Andrew’s death really was an accident.”
No one would ever know.
All I did was switch out his usual drink for something much stronger.
But so what?
His own mother made him drink.
Laura was the one who called him out that night.
None of it had anything to do with me.
In the end, the cops only uncovered one thing:
Laura’s baby wasn’t Andrew’s.
The only reason I stirred up this mess was to make sure Laura didn’t get away with anything.
And just like I expected, she got out of jail.
She thought Andrew’s parents were still in the dark about his infertility and planned to keep scamming them.
What she didn’t know was that the moment she stepped back into that house…
She was walking straight into hell.
Before I left, I installed a hidden camera in the house.
Just so I could witness this moment.
The moment Laura stepped inside, before she could even defend herself, she was cornered by her in–laws.
“You lying tramp!”
“You thought you could pass off another man’s kid as my son’s?!”
Her mother–in–law yanked her hair, slapping her across the face again and again.
“If it wasn’t for you seducing my son, he wouldn’t have gone to see you after drinking!”
