Chapter 6

She wasn’t here for warmth or duty. She didn’t want public opinion turning against her. So she played her part, putting on this little performance with exaggerated care.

Once she got the footage she wanted, she never came back.

But that idiot Jeremiah actually thought I was the reason she disappeared and held it against me ever since.

ta

A man who couldn’t even use the bathroom by himself, still thinking he was irresistible. What a joke.

Seeing that I was about to leave, Jeremiah snapped coldly, “Where are you going?!”

“You three seem to be enjoying yourselves. I clearly don’t belong here, do I?”

Jeremiah let out a cold snort. “At least you’re self-aware. Starting today, watch how you talk to me. Crippled or not, I’m still your legal husband.”

“If you ever act like you did yesterday, get out of this house!”

My son’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Kick her out! She’s a terrible mom. I’ve always wanted to live with Aunt Savannah!”

I calmly took out the marriage certificate. “Perfect. Let’s get divorced now. I’ll give you all the space you want.”

Jeremiah faltered slightly, caught off guard, but quickly forced himself to play tough.

‘Fine. We’ll divorce today, and I’ll marry Savannah tomorrow. Just don’t come crying with regrets!”

He turned to Savannah, gaze brimming with fake devotion.

‘Savannah, my heart has always been yours. From the beginning until now, it’s only ever been you. Marry me, will you?”

‘I tested it last night. I’m still a man. I’ll give you happiness!”

My son joined in eagerly. “Aunt Savannah, please be my mom!”

Savannah flinched in shock, grabbed her phone, and bolted in a panic. “Uh… I have something urgent to do. I’ll come back and take care of you later!”

My son looked puzzled. “Dad, why didn’t Aunt Savannah say yes?”

Jeremiah looked smug. “She’s just shy. Give her a few days, she’ll say yes.”

Right after he spoke, his face twisted in pain as he clutched his stomach.

‘I’m full now.”

My son held his nose and darted away like he was escaping a sewer.

Left alone, Jeremiah turned to me, still using that entitled tone. “Come here and help me to the bathroom.”

I genuinely couldn’t understand where this man got his confidence.

“Why would Savannah marry you? To clean up your food, your piss, your shit? Or to raise your ungrateful brat?”

Jeremiah doubled over in pain, gritting through his teeth. “Cut the crap and help me to the bathroom!”

I pulled out my phone with a smile. “Savannah, you probably haven’t gone far. Jeremiah needs the bathroom.”

“Diana, are you fucking brain-dead?!”

Savannah snapped. “Jeremiah is your husband. Why the hell would I care about his bathroom business?”

“Do you know how revolting this morning was? Just thinking about it ruins my appetite for days!”

“I can’t take it. How can someone be that disgusting? Why did I even have to witness that? He might as well drop dead!”

I glanced over at Jeremiah. “But he ended up like this for you.”

“He’s madly in love with you. He’s even planning to divorce me and marry you.”

I heard Savannah gag.

“Can you not disgust me more? I only ever acted sweet because I saw him as a walking ATM. Who knew that idiot would take it seriously?”
