Chapter 104: Destroying His Chances.
Silas turned to Kim’s urgent voice, removing his hand from Ivy’s chest
“What’s wrong?” he asked, hearing the shock in his voice.
I bumped my leg while I was packing, Kim said, motioning to her leg like she was in pain.
But how did she manage to climb the stairs? Something wasn’t adding up, but before he could figure anything out, Kim fell
to the floor.
He and Ivy rushed to her side, holding her on each arm
“Are you alright?” Ivy asked. He knew she was definitely annoyed by Kim barging in again, but he was surprised by her genuine concern.
Kim winced as she got to her feet with their help. “Yes. I’m better now, she smiled but her eyes were on Silas
Ivy stepped away, her mouth curving in anger. “Good,” she said unenthusiastically
Silas groaned inwardly. Kim was destroying his chances with Ivy Before she walked in, he had wanted to make love to lvy, he missed her, and he wanted to show her with his body.
Ivy was ready for him, he could tell from the way she had responded to his kiss, the way her body had reacted to his touch. He was supposed to take it from there. But now, thanks to Kim, the moment was ruined.
Silas helped Kim stand on her own and kept a distance between them. “I think you need to see a doctor”
I have somebody treating me, but thanks for the advice,” Kim said, “Now would you please help with my luggages so! could leave you two lovebirds alone.”
“Till join you soon, let me finish my conversation with my wife,” he emphasized so Kim would get the message.
And she did, he could tell from the way she twitched her eyes. Her cheeks turned red and she smiled. “I understand,” she said, turning to the door.
The instant she left, he bolted the door and walked to Ivy. “Sorry that I keep forgetting to lock the door,” he apologized “Yeah,” Ivy said flatly.
He pulled her closer and tried to kiss her, hoping to continue from where they stopped, but she tilted her head, dodging his kiss.
She removed his hand from her waist, her expression was stiff. “Just go to her.”
His heart shattered at her tone. “But Ivy.”
“She needs you, besides she’s leaving today. So go” she told him.
He knew she was dismissing him and that hurts. “Alright, I’ll be back soon.”
“Okay,” she said.
As much as it hurt him, he unlocked the door and made his way to his room. There, Kim was struggling to close her suitcase.
He marched over and helped her “I don’t appreciate you barging into Ivy’s room like that.”
“But I used to stay in that room before,” she countered. “It’s no big deal.”
Silas turned to her, narrowing his eyes. “It is a big deal. First, you never stayed there and second, that’s my wife’s room. You should show some respect.
“Jeez, chill, Silas. I was just joking: she laughed.
He didn’t find it funny so he walked away.
“I’m sorry, Si,” she called after him.
“I’m leaving for work, I don’t want to see you here when I return,” he said without looking at her.
Silas went back to Ivy’s room, but he was heartbroken when he realized she had already left.
“Ivy?” he called, hoping she would pop out of the bathroom or closet. He waited and she didn’t.
He walked to the bed, sighhed and his eyes shifted to the table. None of the gifts were there anymore, and he knowing that Ivy had taken them. He brought e
and texted her.
“Dinner tonight by 8. I’m sorry”

He knew she wasn’t going to reply yet he anticipated it. After some moments, he gave up and got ready for work.
As Silas walked into his reception, he met Rachel waiting for him there.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, his brow furrowing.

Rachel sprang to her feel, tears in her eyes. “I am here to apologize sir. It was stupid and reckless of me to do that. You are my boss”
Silas shook his head. “No, I am no longer your boss. I fired you yesterday You’re free to go. Please leave
Tears streamed down her eyes as she tried to touch him, but he pushed her hand away. “Mr Stone Please, it will never
happen again

“Security” Silas yelled. “Get this woman out of my night. I don’t want to ever see her again,” he said, walking into his office He heard Rachel wall as he made his way to his desk. He pitied her a little but he knew he couldn’t have her around
anymore.
His phone rang and he reached for it. It was Thomas on the line.
“Hey, Si,” Thomas said.
“Hello brother. How are you?”
I’m good. We have–what’s that noise?” Thomas asked.
Silas groaned, he couldn’t believe Thomas could hear that. “It’s Rachel,”
“Rachel? What happened to her? Is she alright?” Thomas asked, his voice filled with concern.
Silas took his seat and unlocked his laptop. “She tried to seduce me yesterday so I fired her.” “What the fuck? Was she drunk?” Thomas’s concern had switched to anger.
“I don’t even know,” he replied. “It was odd.”
“That’s weird, I wonder what came over her.”
“That’s her business. Anyway, how have you been?” Silas asked, changing the topic.
“Been great,” Thomas replied.
“Thank you so much for lvy’s office. She loved it.”
“Oh I’m glad, Thomas said. “You’re welcome.”
“How’s Rosie? It has been a while since I’ve seen her.”
“She’s good, enjoying life. Thomas chuckled,
Silas remembered Kim and his stomach turned, “Kim is in my house.”
“What the hell, Si? Why?” Thomas exclaimed,
1 know. She just showed up yesterday, looking so terrible. I didn’t have the heart to send her away,” he admitted. “Oh Lord. That’s so unexpected,” Thomas said.
“Don’t worry, she’s leaving this morning, probably already gone,” he said.
“I hope so,” Thomas commented. “You know how that would complicate things.”
It already did, he thought, but he didn’t say it out loud.
“Have you spoken to Theresa recently?” Thomas enquired.
“No, why?”
“Nothing really,” Thomas said softly. “It’s just that she came to my house some days ago and was asking me strange questions.
Silas sat upright, feeling intrigued. “Like what?”
“Just questions like how do I know if I’m not interested in my marriage and stuff.”
“What?”
“I know right, Thomas chuckled drily. “She scared me.”
“But she had been spending time with Ivy and they both seemed to be having fun, Silas said. “Yeah, I called Wills too. He didn’t sound like they were having issues,” Thomas explained.
“It’s probably nothing then, but I will give her a call later,” Silas said.
“Alright then. When do we get to see? It has been awhile.” Thomas laughed
“Soon my brother.” Silas joined in the laughter, “I will call you.”
