Chapter 142: Kim And Cole.
“It is yummy right?” Cheryl said, as she munched annoyingly on her granola ice cream
“Yes,” Kim replied with a fake smile, as she took a small bite of her own ice cream
They had been in the ice cream shop for almost an hour, and Cheryl had consumed four medium bowls of of sam
Kim was trying her best not to grimace at the way Cheryl was eating and how she babbled mindlessly
Kim clenched her spoon as she took another bite of her ice cream. “So, Chery, What’s the plant
Cheryl looked up, her cheek stained with ice cream. “I talked to my fiance, but we still have no plans What do you the
Kim shifted in her chair, trying to hide her discomfort, the only advantage to this outing was that she wasn’t responsible for the bills and Cheryl had given her money for her ride back to the hotel.
“Do you have a secret about Ivy that we can leak to the public? Kim asked.
The idea was brilliant! She not only gets to disgrace Ivy publicly, she gets to sell her discovery too.
Cheryl tilted her head, biting the plastic spoon. “Well, I know rich people have secrets, but it’s tricky getting hy’s family
secrets.”
Kim’s eyes widened as she dropped her spoon. “Wait–she’s rich?”
“Yup,” Cheryl answered, stirring her ice cream absentmindedly.
Kim hid a smirk. “Interesting.”
“Her parents own a chain of restaurants, one time I got a lobster soup from them, it was spicy and
Kim pulled herself out of the conversation, her mind spiraling with plans of her own. Ivy was rich, which could only mean Cole was rich as well.
Her mind trailed off to Cole and how he had been awkward that night, but once the alcohol hit, and he relaxed, he became even more fun.
“So, what do you think?” Cheryl’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
“About what?”
Cheryl frowned, scraping the bottom of her ice cream bowl. “About the suggestion I just made.”
“Sorry,” Kim said leaning into the chair. “I didn’t get that.”
“I said one time I leaked a rumor about Ivy being barren, but it didn’t go viral. I think you should restart the rumor, that way, once we have a voice–please can I get another bowl?” Cheryl said, talking to the waitress who had just passed them.
Kim groaned, annoyance racing inside her. This wasn’t the meeting she was expecting and now that she had a plan in mind. she didn’t want to waste time.
She sprang to her feet, picking her bag. “I have to go.”
Cheryl’s brow lifted. “Why? We haven’t even finished talking. We still have plans about-
“We’ll do that another time,” Kim interrupted her with a smile. “I’ll call you. Bye, and thanks for the cash.*
She dashed out of the ice cream shop, her heart pounding with excitement as she called a cab to the hotel.
Just as she was about to sneak into the hotel’s elevator, the manager came into the lobby.
“Hello ma’am,” the bald man said, his voice stern and it frightened Kim a bit.
She turned, hiding her nervousness with a smile. “Hi.”
He took a step closer to her, and her heart skipped a beat. “We still haven’t received your payment. We have a strict-”
“Yes I know,” Kim said, clutching her bag. “I will pay it today, I promise. My man is on his way.”
The man cocked his head and gave her a skeptical look. “Ma’am, you’ve given you-*
“I know,” she said, batting her eyelashes, hoping it would make him shut up. When she saw that it worked, she spoke more confidently. “Tonight, I promise.”
“Alright ma’am,” he said, and Kim could see the surrender in his eyes. “You are one of our reputable clients and I know you won’t disappoint.”
“I won’t,” she replied, turning towards the eleva.
Successfully unlocked!
Once she was inside the elevator, she sighed out loud. She knew the hotel was only this lenient because of her past with Silas, and she couldn’t afford to be embarrassed now.
“Time to fix it,” she said and brought out her phone. She dialed Cole’s number and waited for him to pick up.

Cole opened Geoffery’s door and helped him to his bed. “Easy now.”
“Thank you,” Geoffery said as he gently sat on his bed.
“Are you good?” Cole asked, his voice low with concern.
“Yes,” Geoffery said, adjusting on the bed.
His heart tugged with concern for Geoffrey, but when he remembered his father’s part in everything, anger rose in his chest. He clenched his fist as he straightened up, trying his best not to make his anger visible. He placed a hand on his hip and smiled at Geoffrey. “Rest now. I will come check on you later.”
Geoffrey pulled a cover over himself. “Thank you Cole.”
Cole tousled his hair. “We’ll talk later.” Then he left the room.
When he got outside, Cole sighed, feeling the anger buildup in his chest again. He didn’t want to face his father so he went to his office.
It was when he entered that he realized his phone had been ringing. He ran to it and saw that Kim was calling.
“Hello Kim,” he said, licking his lips.
“Hey,” she said smoothly, her voice making his stomach turn to jelly. “What are you up to?”
“Nothing,” he answered. “Just here.”
“Do you want to hang out?”
Cole’s heart leaped, his emotions suddenly shifting between excitement and hesitation. “Uh… yeah, sure. I can come.” He cleared his throat, trying to sound casual.
She laughed, pleased by his reaction. “Alright, I will send you an address,” she said, ending the call.
Cole jumped as he tucked the phone in his pocket. He knew he shouldn’t go. There were still issues to sort, but he also knew this was the distraction he needed.
He couldn’t believe he get to hang out with a beautiful woman. When his phone buzzed with the address, he quickly got out of his office and went to his room.
His chest tightened with anger as he remembered Patrick had kept such a deep secret. Cole shook his head trying to stop his thoughts from racing. He wasn’t going to deal with anything, for now.
Quickly, he refreshed and drove to the hotel Kim had sent to him. When he parked in the hotel’s garage, he realized Kim was waiting for him at the entrance.
“Cole!” Kim called, waving wildly.
“Hey,” he replied, stepping out of the car.
She hugged him, her voice soft. “You look stressed. Are you good?”
“Yes,” Cole said, his cheeks burning. He wanted to tell her about the whole day, but he thought against it.
That was his family business and it ought to stay in the family.
“Well, then,” Kim said, batting her lashes. “Let me make you feel better.”
Cole’s heart pounded with excitement as he followed her into the elevator. She didn’t touch him, but he was already hard with pleasure.
When the elevator opened, she stepped out quickly and his eyes fell on her swaying behind.
“My room is just this way,” she said, gesturing to a direction but his eyes weren’t even looking there. When she got to the door, she paused. “I have a tiny problem.”
Cole’s chest tightened. “What’s that?”
“My… cards have been having issues and I haven’t been able to pay for the room,” she said softly, looking away. “I don’t
know if…”
“Done.” He didn’t wait for her to finish talking.
“Great!” she cheered and opened the door.
Cole was too hot to admire the room, his eyes were just on Kim, watching her every move.
She walked over to him and his breath hitched. “Sit,” she said, pushing him into the chair. Slowly, she knelt down, her eyes on his. She removed his shoes, one after the other.
“You seem tense,” she said, her hand slowly traveling to his trousers. “What happened?”
His cheeks burned as he anticipated her touch on his dick. The way her hand lingered on his trousers made his heart flip.”

Kim undid his belt, his zip, and took hus erection in her hands. Cole melted, surrendering to her soft touc “Tell me,” she whispered, tracing the tip of his cock
Cole moaned, shutting his eyes. “You” he hesitated, finding the words.
Kim leaned in “You can trust me…”
He swallowed. A part of him didn’t want to tell her everything, but her warm hands docked his thinking
“You know,” she whispered, her grip on his dick tighter. “I had a bad day too Tell me
yours and I might just make us feel better.”
Cole closed his eyes, giving into the pleasure. He really needed this distraction.
So he told her everything.
Chapter 143:
Thomas clenched his fist under the table, his heart pounding with anger, fear and disgust.
He couldn’t believe it
He was in a police station, locked up in a grey room like a prisoner. The officers had treated him with respect; they had been kind, they had even offered him water, he hadn’t been handcuffed and asked to change into those orange dungarees.
But that didn’t change the fact that he was still a prisoner, locked up with a camera on his face, and a two–way mirror; one he was sure officers were behind, trying to profile him.
Thomas groaned as the memory of being home, celebrating his victory after the Patricia case, filled his heart with pain.
“No fucking rest,” he whispered, the realization adding to his dread.
Mason was most likely behind this, like every other thing in his life, but Thomas still didn’t know who the other person was.
Someone close to him had been feeding Mason with his personal information. He didn’t know who, and he feared he might never do.
The grey door opened with a loud creak and he lifted his head as Wade walked in with a file in his hand.
“See?” Wade said with a frown on his face as he gestured to the camera. “No privacy.”
Thomas lifted his brow, wondering what the issue was.
A female detective came in, her stern attitude told Thomas that she was the one running the house. “At this point, I think privacy is out of the question.” •
Thomas leaned against the iron chair, watching them.
“You are not the judge of that,” Wade snapped though he wasn’t shouting, but Thomas could see a vein pop in his neck.” Nothing has been decided yet, and until then my client deserves some privacy!”
The detective scowled at Wade as they paused, observing each other silently for almost a minute.
“Fine,” the detective agreed, her eyes narrowed. “Just make it quick.”
“Of course,” Wade replied with a frown of his own before turning to Thomas. “Let’s go.”
Thomas’s forehead creased with confusion as he stood up. “Where are we going?”
“Somewhere better,” Wade replied but his eyes were on the detective as they walked out the door.
When they got outside, Thomas sighed, grateful even for a moment that he could stretch his legs and be away from the intruding camera.
They walked down the hallway before Wade stopped in front of another room and opened the door. “Go in.”
Thomas obeyed and entered. This room was smaller but it had no cameras and no mirror, plus the chair there was made of soft leather.
Thomas crossed his legs after sitting. “What was all that about?”
“They won’t let me talk to you privately.” Wade said, sitting down as well, dropping the file on the table. “So I had to request for this place.”
Thomas nodded, realizing he actually didn’t care. He leaned in, his heart pounding against his chest. “So, Wade, how bad is it?”
Wade’s voice dropped as he spoke. “It’s bad, Thomas. I viewed the evidence Evan Graves released and I can tell you that it is authentic. The receipt of payment made for the Crystal Residences were in your name, from your mail and with your signature.”
Thomas was weak with pain. He released uneven gasps, shutting his eyes as sweat gathered on his forehead.
“Are you alright, Thomas? I’m sorry,” Wade said softly, giving him a little pat on the shoulder.
He slowly opened his eyes, allowing the feeling to pass. For a moment, he thought he would pass out from the tightness in his chest, but after a while the emotion faded.
“Sorry about that,” he said softly.
“It’s okay,” Wade smiled.
Thomas straightened up. “So you’re saying the Successfully unlocked! I paid him to sign over the Crystal Residences?”
“Yes,” Wade said, his voice filled with sadness.
Thomas sighed again, his head filled with questions.
Who was even Evan Graves?

How did he get hold of his signature?
Only one name came to mind again, Mason. But how?
How was Mason able to get such important personal information? Sadly, he had no answers and right now he was craving for a drink.
“Silas still wants to come over,” Wade said, breaking his thoughts.
“And what did you tell him?”
“I told him I was working on it, I gave him vague responses like you told me to,” Wade said.
“Good,” Thomas said, satisfied.
He couldn’t put all of this on Silas again, he had sacrificed his freedom, and married a total stranger for this.
Yet, months later and there was still no solution to the problem. He knew Silas would tear the city apart for him. But he couldn’t drag him into this again.
“I don’t know how long I can keep him for,” Wade said.
“Just for as long as you can. I don’t want my brother thinking he has to save me all the time,” he said, hoping Wade understood the statement more than he explained.
“Understood,” Wade said with a nod.
Thomas ran a hand through his hair, his hand shaking slightly as he faced Wade. “What do we do now? How do I get cut of this?”
Wade looked away, fidgeting with the edge of the file. “You… have to stay here for a while.”
“What?” Thomas exclaimed, springing to his feet. “I can’t stay here, Wade. You have to find a way to get me out!”
“I know,” Wade said, rising to his feet too. “But right now, it’s a little complicated. The claims that you illegally acquired the Crystal Residences are standing, and that’s why… your account has been frozen and you can’t… leave.”
Thomas stomped his feet. “Oh fuck!”
“But I’m working on getting you out on bail, Wade added quickly, but Thomas wasn’t having it.
He couldn’t stay in the police station! Away from his home, his business, branded as a criminal for a crime he didn’t do
“I can’t stay here,” he protested, “You have to find a solution.”
“Yes,” Wade said, trying to calm him down. “I just need more time, please.”
Wade’s calm voice got to Thomas and he sighed, steadying his breath. He knew he wasn’t angry, he was scared, terrified of what would be of him behind these walls.
The fright moved from his chest to his stomach, and he clenched his fingers to ease himself. When Thomas spoke, his voice was soft, as he returned to the chair. “Okay.”
Wade sat down too, his eyes filled with concern. “Don’t worry.”
“Mason is involved. You know this, Wade. Find a way to get him arrested, get me free.”
He half–expected Wade to argue about accusing Mason, but instead Wade said, “If we do say Mason is involved, he either fabricated those evidence or-”
“Got someone on the inside to do it for him,” Thomas finished for him, his heart flipping.
Thinking about it was one thing, but saying it out loud was another.
“There are only a few people who have access to such information,” Wade said cautiously.
“Just two people,” Thomas confirmed. “My personal assistant and my… wife.”.
Wade’s eyes widened as he stood up again. “Do you think…”
“I don’t know,” he admitted.
It was weird to accuse two important people in his life, but at this point, he had no choice.
He either had to face them, or face judgment for something he was innocent for.
Wade paced around the room, his arms folded as he was lost in thoughts. After a moment he spoke. “We can’t leave any stone unturned. I will make my findings.”
Thomas nodded, yet he hoped Wade came up empty. He couldn’t imagine being betrayed by his closest people.
Reina’s betrayal he could take.
But Rosie? Nah, his wife wouldn’t do that. She loved him so much. Besides, the whole tension was making him overthink the whole situation.

His heart sank when he remembered the pain in Rosie’s eyes when he was taken away
“Make sure Reina is thoroughly interrogated,” Thomas said firmly.
“I will, 1-”
Wade was interrupted as the door was opened and the female detective walked in. “Time’s up,” she said, her voice firm.
She wasn’t alone this time, she had come in with another female officer and Thomas felt the tension take him again
“You couldn’t give us more time,” Wade protested, though he was already packing the file.
“I have done what I can, Wade,” she answered him, opening the door wildly for Thomas.
Thomas gave them a sheepish smile as he stepped out of the room. Wade followed him. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.” He nodded and when they got to the other room, his stomach knotted with fear.
“Bye for now. Do not speak to anyone until I’m around,” Wade instructed.
“Alright,” Thomas replied as he entered the room.
When he sat down on the iron chair, his chest tightened with realization. Regardless of whatever the outcome may be, Mason already won.

Chapter 144:
“I’m so sorry,” Ivy said as she wrapped her hand around Rosie’s body, trying to console her.
She couldn’t even begin to imagine the state of mind Rosie was in. She rocked Rosie silently, waiting for Silas to come back. When Silas returned to the room, Ivy could tell that he wass seriously disturbed by the whole situation. His eyes were dark and his shoulders were slumped as he sat on the couch.
Her heart longed to reach him, to console him, but she tightened her hand around Rosie instead.
“Have you heard anything new?” Rosie asked, sniffling as she looked at Silas.
“Nothing really. Wade isn’t saying anything,” Silas replied, his voice low.
“I don’t know what to do,” Rosie said, burying herself in Ivy’s arms. “I don’t know where to begin.”
“Let’s take it step by step. Don’t overthink anything,” Ivy advised, looking at Silas for support.
Silas leaned forward, reaching for Rosie’s hand. “We’ll all get through this. I am working on it.”
Rosie straightened up. “How do we go after Mason?”
Ivy stiffened at Mason’s name. She wanted to groan out her anger but she swallowed it instead.
Mason had been the problem of everything. And just when she thought he was done, he pulled out another card, another trick.
“We can’t just let him get away with this right?” Rosie added, her voice firmer than before. “He needs to be brought to justice!”
“Easy now,” Ivy said gently, patting Rosie’s shoulder. “I understand you’re hurt but rage is such a bad emotion, you don’t need it right now.”
“But I do,” Rosie argued and her voice cracked. “I… can’t watch one man ruin my family.”
Ivy sighed, her heart breaking at Rosie’s tone. Maybe it was really time to do something about Mason because this was just too much.
“Don’t worry, I will work on it,” Silas said, his voice heavy with assurance.
Rosie sighed and sank into the chair, Ivy didn’t know what to say, so she just let her be. “I feel so helpless, I can’t help my husband.
“I’ll work on it right now,” Silas said, getting to his feet. “I am going to make some calls.”
As Silas walked out of the room, Ivy’s heart stirred with emotions. She wanted to be with him, to hold him. She could tell he was covering so much pain and she just wanted to help him.
“Do you think Thomas is coming out soon?” Rosie said, snapping Ivy out of her thoughts.
“I think…” Ivy said, clearing her throat. It felt so weird talking about this. “Yes,” she added quickly, not to embarrass her.
But it was too late, Rosie’s cheeks had turned pink and she had turned to the other side.
“I’m sorry, Rosie,” Ivy pleaded in a small voice.
“It’s not your fault,” Rosie answered, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. “It’s… I’m just not…” she trailed off and Ivy guessed she was about to cry again.
“Rosie…” Ivy said, trying to reach her, but Rosie stood up, her eyes now red.
“I have to… I…” Rosie stuttered, placing her arms around herself like a shield. “I am…” she trailed off as she ran upstairs, tears pouring from her eyes.
“Rosie,” Ivy called but Rosie didn’t stop.
She knew she was supposed to follow her, but she figured Rosie needed time alone to deal with her emotions.
Alone, Ivy decided to go find Silas. Just when she stood up, her phone rang. It was Aunt May calling.
“Hello Aunt May,” Ivy said as she answered.
“Ivy dear. Are you okay? Is it true? About Geo?” May asked in a hasty voice.
Ivy’s mind wandered to Geo and her chest tightened. She had wanted to go home and analyze everything before all of this. “Yes,” she said softly, not knowing how to feel Successfully unlocked! really related to Geo, but when she thought
about her father’s betrayal, it filled her with ang, and paina be
“Oh Lord!” May exclaimed, sharply. “Patrick never told anyone. He brought that boy home like he saved him!”
Ivy could remember how she had felt when she first met Geo. She had been excited to have a little brother, and over the years, the thought still delighted her.

“He is a liar! I am so disappointed in him” May snapped, her tone filled with anger. “How are you all coping? I’m sorry dear.”
vy bit her lip, trying to stop her thoughts from racing “Thank you, Aunt May.”
Tim on my way over to your father’s house, it’s time to have a lengthy conversation,” May said.
vy nodded even though she couldn’t see her. “Alright Aunt May.”
1 will call you later, I love you.” May said and ended the call.
it was when the call was over that Ivy realized she hadn’t asked Aunt May how she found out about Geo’s story.
Maybe Cole or Patrick told her. She tucked her phone in her pocket and proceeded to find Silas.
She went the way he did and luckily for her she saw him coming out of a room. “Silas,” she called, her voice gentle.
“Hey” Silas said with a smile, but she could tell it wasn’t genuine.
She stepped forward, observing him. “Are you okay?”
He nodded but his hazel eyes gleamed with emotions she knew he was trying hard to hide. Her heart broke at his silence and fueled with the desire to take his pain away, Ivy gave him a hug.
“Oh, ly” Silas moaned as he melted into her arms like a child.
She rubbed his back, her stomach sinking with emotions. Silas stiffened in her arms, his knee buckled.
For a moment nothing sounded.
For a moment nothing mattered.
But then Silas lifted his head, the intensity in his hazel eyes sent a shiver down her spine.
He swallowed, his hands moving to her face. “Ivy…”
His tone, his countenance all added to the feelings in Ivy’s chest and she…
She paused, her heart pounding as realization set inside her.
She loved Silas!
That was the only explanation to how she was feeling towards him, the urge to take away his pain, the urge to-
Her thoughts disappeared as Silas’s lips found hers. Without thinking, Ivy wrapped her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss.
“I love you, Silas whispered as he brought his lips to her neck.
She loved him too, but she was too hot, too distracted to say.
Before Ivy knew it, Silas had picked her up and taken her to the room he had just left. It looked like a study, but Ivy couldn’t really tell. She was too lost in Silas’s kiss.
“Baby, he moaned, slipping his hand to her waist.
Ivy clung to him, pressing herself against his length. Her legs were already hot with passion.
Silas kissed her deep and she moaned at his touch. When his hand found her nipples, they were hard and aching.
“Fuck me, Si,” she purred.
He needed no other conviction. Silas turned her around. Ivy held the table for support as she felt his hands all over her. With a single move, Silas had undressed her.
She waited, hoping to feel his dick inside her, but instead she felt his cold tongue against her clit, hungry and searching. She gripped the table tight, parting her legs so he dug farther. And he did dig.
He sucked her, his tongue tracing her core. Just when she was about to let herself go, she felt his dick inside her.
“Silas,” she moaned, her heart pounding with passion.
“Fuck!” Silas groaned as he slammed into her from the back.
He pounded her, thrusting her deeper until she felt nothing but bliss. She encouraged him, raising her legs so he could go in further.
“I’m coming.” His voice was sharp against her ears and it stirred something inside her. “Fuck, baby!” “Pound me, Si, she cried as his thrust became faster, harder until they both collapsed on the table. “Fuck, baby,” Silas said breathlessly as he kissed her shoulders.
Ivy laughed, her eyes now wide open. As she adjusted herself, her eyes scanned the room, and it hit her. Oh God
Her cheeks colored as she turned to Silas. “We did it in your…”

“Don’t overthink it,” Silas stopped her with a kiss on the forehead. “Come let’s clean up.”
She obeyed, following him into a small bathroom inside. When they were both done, the shame of having sex in Thomas’s office while he wasn’t around gripped her and she turned to Silas.
“Go out first.”
He teased her with a chuckle. “Why?”
Her cheeks burned as she gestured to the door. “Just go.”
“Okay,” Silas laughed, buttoning his shirt as he left the room.
Ivy counted to twenty, adjusting her dress and hair. She took a deep breath, her nerves steadying before stepping out too. When she got to the living room, Silas was seated waiting for her.
Ivy’s cheeks burned as she took her seat far from him, avoiding his eyes.
Silas tilted his head. “You didn’t tell me you had another brother.”
Ivy’s heart plummeted. “What?”
He gestured to his phone. “Your little brother, the one everyone is talking about.”
Without thinking, Ivy grabbed the phone from Silas and read the message. Her stomach sank; they were not only talking about Geo, they were also talking about her late mother.
